Chapter 10- He Became a Delivery Boy

Holy Kingdom Supreme Mage's Office

An old man with a long white beard was standing near the window. He was observing how the kingdom's people live their daily lives. They were cheerful and energetic. The children were playing and no frown can be seen on anyone's face. It was a sight to behold.

As he was enjoying the mesmerizing view, someone knocked from the door.

" Just a moment."

He put on his robe and snapped his fingers. The door swung open and a holy guard marched forward carrying Gemel's letter.

(Note: The holy guard are the soldiers of the holy kingdom. Unlike the knights of Crux that has a black cross on their armor, they carve their kingdom's flag on their armor. Most holy guards can use up to 2nd tier spells.)

" Sir! A bird arrived carrying a letter from Mother Nature."

" Gamel eh? Let me see."

He took the letter and read it. As he was reading the letter, his face frowned and he let out a sigh.

" What's the matter sir?"

" Tell the king to prepare 5000 holy guards. Magnus is trying to revolt against the supreme mages."

" Your will."

As the guard left, he cast a sound barrier around the office and opened a gate. A beautiful girl with long black hair stepped out into the office. Any man would fall for her beauty but Griffin was an exception.

(Note: A gate is a neutral type spell that resembles a portal. Though the difference is that a gate can only be used to travel distances based on your magical power while a portal requires building a large magic circle and several magic stones to work. A portal can take you anywhere.)

" So Griffin, what do you need today?"

" Help."

" What?"

" Help me. Magnus is planning to revolt against the supreme mages. He might also be planning to use the knights to assault the holy capital."

" Ok. I'll help you all I can. Just give me about 9 days to prepare."

" As cautious as always. You never change Stella."

Stella entered back to the portal while Griffin was developing their strategy.

(Note: Griffin also known as "The Mage of Creation" is the first ranked supreme mage. His name came from his past achievements like when he created some magical beasts as the kingdom's guards. Stella on the other hand was once Griffin's apprentice. She's beautiful and smart that she became a supreme mage at the age of 15. Her nickname is "The Celestial Bride" based on her magic affinities.)

Crux Adventurers Guild

Kazuki and his team have successfully delivered the food supplies and are looking for a new quest. They wanted to find one that is easy to do and has a high reward.

Searching across the bulletin board, Sakura found the perfect quest.

" How about this one? We just need to deliver a letter to a mage in the nearby lake."

" That's perfect Sakura. So Maggie are you okay with that quest?'

" Y...yeah."

They took the paper and handed it to the receptionist. Then she gave them the letter and the receiver's name.

Kazuki called Pegasus out and asked him where the nearby lake is.

" The nearest lake is about 20 kilometers from here."

" I feel like I've become a delivery boy delivering things from one place to another."

" It's your fault Kazuki. It's because your very lazy that you get tired easily."

Little did they know that a flower was also listening to their conversation.
