Chapter 3 - Adjusting

Life inside the Rauthier household is boring

The room I'm in is decorated in blue, white and gold

The floors were made of marble speckled with gold and silver with huge rectangular furry grey carpet in the middle of the room

It had a rich and unique feeling

All I do is sit in my crib doing nothing but sleep and sometimes eating

There is the occasional walk with mom but it rarely happens

She usually wore a white lace dress with rose patterns that reached her ankles and all the way across her arms

She wore a gentle smile and eyes that looked like it has seen it all

Whenever she looked at me, her face deteriorated in sadness and would hug me

The one thing I took notice from her is that she has white hair and grey eyes

The system told me that Samael had black hair and grey eyes so I wonder what hair color I would have

Yet this was the least of my worries

'I'm so bored'

'Well why don't you do something'

Alice in her new body struggles to flip herself over and looks at the floor near her

For the very first time, she would use her supernatural ability blink

She was excited to use it

"Poof"

Like that, she landed on the floor

She made happy squeals and blinked through the door

'It is suggested that you should use your illusion as well'

Like that, Alice used her illusion ability to make herself invisible

She would blink herself to her next destination while unseen

The halls were adorned with decorations highlighted by grey and white

There were patterns made of gold

And vases carrying flowers

But these flowers were not meant to welcome people

They were to scare them as they carried one of most deadly poison's

Nightshades, Azalea, Lilies, and Fox Glove were the many flowers I've seen

Maids ran amok in this place, tending to it like their life depended on it

After running around or blinking, I managed to get outside of the house

But not in a place I expected

In a huge place looked like a training area filled to the brim with men

Hot, handsome and shirtless men

'I think I'm in heaven'

I completely agree

It was only a few seconds of admiring but

1 man came out from the training grounds

This one actually had a shirt much to the disappointment but had a colder more noble look

Black hair, and red eyes

Devilish looks

'Looks like you got yourself in a sticky situation'

He appeared exactly in front of me

Staring like he knew I was there

And everyone here turned there eyes towards me as well

I immediately canceled my illusion

"What is a child doing here?"

The man's voice echoed deeply

"White hair and grey eyes, it must be Mary Aquila's."

"Warner, return this thing back to her room."

A man with tan skin, silver hair and black eyes came forward

"Understood Master."

When this Warner guy tried to pick me up, I used blink

Puzzled, he tried to grab me quickly

Poof

I was no longer there but moving on to the next area

"How should I proceed?"

"Do what I ordered previously and make sure to do it properly."

He immediately ran to catch up with Alice but the same actions repeated

Warner would try to pick her up while she would blink away

It happened so many times that Warner gave up trying and instead followed her around

"Where is it that you wanna go?"

After asking, the young lady unfazed by it at all continued blinking away

From Warner's observation, she was merely curious about the place she was living in

As she was curious about the manor, he was curious about her abilities

He knew about her instantaneous short travel blink, but he was curious as to how she was able to make herself invisible

All he could guess was that she had multiple supernatural abilities

It was pretty rare but not impossible, but this invisibility was not invisibility

They were unaware of her presence or to be precise, existence

Only until the master had confronted her did they become aware that something was watching them and was in fact a child

As soon as she thought of it

Dense fog engulfed the area around them and she illusioned herself away

Warner was surprised again by her ability to shrug off a trained veteran with ease

He had only heard that she was the daughter of Mary Aquila

Warner decided to report his observations of her and his failure

I kept blinking around until I heard 2 voices

"Deshra, how does one raise a child. I worry over her fate I had divined."

Mary looks at Deshra

"She was born into the Rauthier clan whose siblings fight over the title of heir."

"And I foresaw 2 fates, either I die, or she dies."

Deshra looks back solemnly

Deshra wore white robes adorned with silver and a star necklace with a blue jewel resting on it

And Mary was wearing her old lace dress but this time, she was holding a star necklace identical to Deshra's

"Well maybe, you can change it, divination gives guidance to those lost and probable situations in the future."

"But that's breaking the rule's, even if I had to leave the grace of Asteria, I still honor her as my god."

Mary smile's warily

"I gave my blessing away to little Alice, I can no longer contact her anymore."

"Did Asteria agree to this?"

"She was reluctant to do so, but I managed to convince her as her chosen saint."

Will I be able to use divine power as well system?

Can't I just use it now as I do believe in her existence as real

Only until you understand guidance can you use divine power from her'

Guidance is somewhat abstract

I can understand what it means but I might not understand the concept itself

Ugh, I'm getting sleepy

I undid my illusion and started crawling toward mother

"Alice!? How did you get here?"

"Mama…"

Right there I fell asleep as Mary picks me up

She looks at me with a smile

"Haha, what a little escape artist."

"That's your daughter Mary?"

"Yes she is."

She scrutinized the little child but all she can think about is

*poke*

"She's adorable Mary, is this what you look like when you were a baby?"

"I wouldn't know as I was an orphan."

Mary chuckles

"But I do know that I'll raise her the best I can."
