Stumbling through the woods, Vanessa came to accept the fact that the pawprints were in fact leading her into circles. Or zigzags. Sometimes both. It confused her into cursing Logan out despite having already realized he wasn't actually there.
Pawprints kept appearing. Likely a spell of some sort. Perhaps a Cheshire cat spell that made Vanessa envious of the nonsense she could do with such power. Scaring the daylights out of people. Making others soil themselves and possibly quit the game. Or trick players into thinking fearsome foes were nearby.
The best idea was that of tiny kitten pawprints to lure people into a tiny spot where they would expect to find an adorable kitten. She would roll a head without a body nor mouth at them. The scares she'd get would truly make her the utmost evil being in the stadium.
