23 . Holding The Fort Part 10

POV : Sarah Connor 

Sarah could hear the ongoing fight happening through the walkie talkie . Form what she could hear , the fight was intense but by how quickly it ended , she started getting nervous .

She heard Mika mock the terminator and that was a good sign to Sarah . It meant he was winning .

Then the transmission cut off after an explosion went of . She could not hear what was going on anymore but it was likely nothing good considering the walkie talkie stopped working . 

" Hello . Mika can you hear me ? Is everything alright . " There was no reply and Sarah had to accept that something had gone wrong . 

Her heart started to beat violently in her chest . Had something gone wrong ? , was Mika in trouble? Should she go and check ?! Sarah was panicking but she did not know what to do ? 

Mika had told her not to leave the banker no matter what and going could cause more harm than good . She knew it was for the best she remained here but why did it hurt so much to wait and hope for the best . 

" Don't leave me alone .!! "

Sarah whispered to herself . She could not handle the shock of another death . It would break her . 

/ WARNING SIRENS /

The screen that she was watching from alerted her of an approaching figure . She quickly focused her vision and the person she expected to see was not the one approaching .

A sole metallic figure was approaching at a quick pace . It would sometimes stumble or stop but it was easily reaching the cabin .

A sudden hopelessness filled Sarah's entire being . The fact that this terminator was here and Mika was not could mean only one thing . 

" AAAAHHHHHKKKKK" A horrible scream that was both animalistic and emotional came from her . It spoke volumes of how she felt 

For a child like her , How was she supposed to deal with her grief ?. How was she supposed to get rid of the pain of losing a person she started using as her emotional pillar ?

Why was she the only one experiencing this pain . It was not fair !!

Her rage had taken over her and a certain laser focus filled her . She gritted her teeth in anger as she looked at the approaching terminator and all she could see was red .

The drone started re adjusting itself . From it's vantage point , she had the high ground and she would abuse that advantage .

The terminator had been modified into a sentry that would use the plasma core of the T-900 to shoot out plasma blasts as well as a modified grenade launcher . 

" PUUUUEWWW '' A continuous stream of plasma bolts were shot at the terminator in quick succession . 

The already stumbling terminator was being bombarded by the shots but it would immediately shrug it off . It's hyper alloy armor was doing an amazing job at defending it .

The already angry Sarah just got angrier at what she was seeing . The drone quickly switched to the grenades . If one attack failed , the other would work . 

" DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIEEE !!! " 

" BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM "

Sarah's voice had become horse but she felt the excitement grow in her when the grenades were more impactful . Mika had only left her 5 of which she had used all of them .

The grenade bombardment seemed to have damaged one of the terminators legs . It had started sparking at the knee which was a good sign . It would become slowed down . 

Sarah would not let this opportunity go . There was a single remaining function of the drone that remained . It was an all out attack that would drain most of the plasma core but the destruction caused would be a sure kill .

Sarah gazed at the red button in front of her . She had to be very careful if she wanted to press the button . It would be a do or die moment . 

Sarah's anger had cooled down and all that was left were thoughts of vengeance . Her focus increased and her aim was even better . 

But she had to wait for the perfect moment . It was like fishing . you always wait until the fish is to attracted by the bait that it ignores everything else .

For the point of no return when the fish bit the hook and it had no other option but to wait for it's death .

That was what Sarah waited for . She could not hear anything from the screen so she just observed and waited . 

The terminator was stumbling but it still approached like an avenger out for blood . It would not stop until it's mission was complete . 

15 METRES

10 METRES 

5 METRES 

1 METRE 

" NOW !!! " 

Sarah slammed the button and the screen she watched from flashed , blinding her vision . The sight returned after awhile and a what she saw terrified her .

The left side of the terminator had been completely vaporized from it's entire left arm to parts of it's chest , stomach and waist . 

But what happened next was not planned . The terminator refused to stay down . It struggled to get back up and continued to crawl towards the cabin . 

Sarah was shocked . There was one last thing she could do but that would result in her death . It was the self destruct function .

Mika had told her it would be used when all options were exhausted mainly because the blast could also potentially kill her . Would she do this . Kill the enemy along with herself . She hesitated .

Sarah had just gotten her hope back . She had just reignited her dreams . Was this going to be the end!! .

She still watched the terminator agonizing over the choice to make . 

Suddenly , Sarah saw a man walked towards the downed terminator . He wore a black leather jacket and dark sunglasses .

In his hands was a shotgun and the man pointed it at the terminators head . He seemed to have said something and fired . Finally ending it's life . 

Sarah's body relaxed as she slid of from the chair . She was still confused by what had happened but at least the terminator was dead . 

/ STATIC NOISES / 

The second pair of walkie talkie Mika had left behind sounded and Sarah felt the blood rush through her body once again . Hope was quickly returning to her as she scrambled to take it into her hands .

" Sarah , can you hear me . The other walkie talkie was damaged so I could not contact you . I'll be coming back and remember . Don't open the bunker door . " 

Sarah was overjoyed . That was all the confirmation she needed that her body fully relaxed on the floor the tension completely disappearing from her . 

Maybe life wasn't so bad .

POV : OMNISCENT

The ally terminator aimed at the T-900s head .

 "Hasta la vista . Baby ! "

"BOOM "
