Chapter 23

“I am, but it’s not easy to find someone who can fit in to my lifestyle. I had a couple of ex-boyfriends. They were creeped out by my ability to communicate with the dead. I’d tried putting myself out there after my last relationship ended, but it was more trouble than it was worth. Most of the men I met were turned off by my occupation. I could only accept so many rejections before I gave up altogether.”

“What about me?”

Galen’s voice was so soft, Dion almost thought that he must have imagined hearing it. “What?”

“What about me?” Galen repeated, and Dion stared at the cupid in disbelief.

“You’re kidding, right?” Dion blurted out in shock, and he regretted his outburst in an instant, especially when he noticed the hurt expression on Galen’s face.

“Right. Forget about it.”

Dion sat up and glanced at Galen in a hurry. “No! I mean, I would love to, but are you sure?”
