“Don’t think that way. You’re a wonderful man. Your soul mate will be lucky to have someone like you.”
Galen was tempted to scoff at Dion’s confidence in him. Moreover, soul mates didn’t guarantee a happily ever after. Just because two people were destined to be together, it didn’t mean they would never have to work at maintaining their relationship. Being soul mates simply meant that two people happened to be compatible in various ways, and their chances of succeeding in the relationship would be much higher.
“Maybe,” Galen responded noncommittally.
Dion smiled and yawned at the same time. “Keep that in mind. In the meantime, I think I want to try to fall asleep again. It’s still really dark outside.”
“Sure.”
