10. The Prince Seal

Spike knew that one of them had to leave their vampire mark when he agreed to come with Natalia. Now he can't get back, but he already has thought of a plan on his way here. He asked Lestat to sign the paper in his stead.

"Lestat will sign the papers", he looked at Lestat.

"Okay, I will. Give me the papers.", Lestat extended his hand for papers to Natalia. Lestat can tell by Spike's tone that he already has a plan for this, so without any question, he agreed to sign the papers.

Natalia wasn't expecting this, she knew that if Spike is a Prince, he will not imprint his vampire mark, and allowing Lestat to imprint his, will only make things trivial for him. But that's all the case when he is a Prince. She can't exactly identify the prince seal as she didn't hear of one and also commoners don't know such things. If one of them signs the papers, she can ask Agnes whether he is a prince or not. As Agnes told her that she used to work for the Vampire Kingdom directly under the crown, so she must be able to identify Prince's vampire mark.

Keeping her uncertainty aside she passed the papers to Lestat.

Lestat was about to sign the papers but Agnes interrupted the procedure.

"Before you sign, can I ask what are these papers for?", Agnes asked the three stopping Lestat.

The three looked at the witch, Spike and Lestat were trying to guess whether she was trying to help them or not. Natalia has the same question in mind why is she trying to mid in, she won't usually.

"They said they are investigating something under the prince's order they want a vampire that I caught for the inquiry, they do want to take him.", Natalia explained the situation to her.

Agnes raised one of her brows and then looked at Spike.

"So that's what happened which brought both of you here", Natalia said looking at both the male vampires sitting in front of her.

Spike nodded his head at her words.

"So, what are these papers for then?", Agnes asked Natalia shrugging her shoulder.

At this, Natalia understood that the witch is up on something.

"They want to take a vampire on that an illegal immigrant back to their kingdom without anyone knowing", Natalia said this a bit aggressively.

"If this is an order from the prince we can't be suspicious of them, we can be demolished for that reason.", Agnes said calmly.

"But I don't know whether they are saying the truth or not.", Natalia said glaring at the witch.

The only thing on Natalia's mind was, what was Agnes up to, she is resisting her openly and helping the two vampires.

"But we have shown Prince's seal to prove ourselves, how can you say we aren't saying the truth", Lestat said instantly seeing the witch taking their side.

Spike understood that the witch was trying to help them but couldn't find the reason for that.

"That prince seal or whatever, I am not sure whether it is authentic or not. How can I give that vampire to you.", Natalia replied to Lestat.

"If you are not sure of the vampire seal, I can see it and confirm that it's a real prince seal", Agnes said aloud.

"Is such a thing even exist? I have heard of the royal seal but a prince seal, I don't believe it", Natalia's anger was on a completely different level now.

"I worked in the royal palace, the ruler is changed from then so maybe they introduced new laws in their kingdom and I don't know what it looks like but I can identify that whether it's authentic or not.", Agnes turned her face to Lestat and Spike, "If you do have the Prince Seal then show it to me".

Spike was unsure of her, maybe she is going to help them or is just making a ruckus. There's nothing such as Prince Seal, it's a made-up thing so that she can let them go easily. But no, now there is no choice for him he has to take the vampire by force. He turned his face to Lestat to give him a signal but saw him already giving that (fake) prince seal to Agnes.

Lestat was already swamped over Agnes, thus he didn't think twice before handing over the fake seal to her.

Agnes took the fake seal from his hand and closely inspected it, she took a few minutes to look at it. She extended her palm and put it on her hand upside down the seal started to float on her hand. Suddenly they saw purple flames engulfing the seal.

Spike was now sure that the witch is just playing around, she will burn the seal and will say that it was something contrived. He looked at Lestat who was looking at the burning seal.

He whispered in his ear, "We can't leave a trace behind".

Lestat turned his face to him. Lestat's heart sank hearing these words, even Spike felt as if his heart burn in flames at his thoughts.

"The seal is real.", the two men heard the witch.

They turned and looked at her hand the seal was still there, and the two were shocked. Either they were successful in fooling a witch or she deliberately helped them. She didn't have a reason for helping them.

"The seal is real and as the investigation is secretly done under the prince's order, we don't have a say in this. You can take that vampire we don't have any problem, you don't have to leave your imprint as I, Agnes Sampson, am confirming this.", Agnes said using the seal as proof.

"What? Agnes, are you serious?", Natalia said.

Lestat slowly went to Agnes and gently held her hand in his.

"We knew that the seal is real, thank you, for helping us.", Lestat said to the witch with an overwhelming tone.
