Shizuka pondered on what to do next, as outside was more than just terrible. More than half of the city was destroyed and now repopulated by strange monsters and creatures fighting over their country's lands.
The younger sister whose name is Shizumi, age 10, and the cousin's name was Yuzuha, who was also 10; the two young girls were in a corner cuddling together with a 'creepy crawler' in their grasp that surrendered to its fate of being a temporary plushy while the two girls were doing their very best now to cry thanks to the ongoing noise outside.
The spiders connected to the Arrancar's memories tried to distract them with the silly moments he had will a certain guardian of the weak to pass the time, but occasionally some of the noise outside got a little too loud.
They heard the occasional screams of death and despair under the brutal means of the invaders, yet the clone that was leaning on the wall simply ignored the death throes of others; then again, with it being something that wasn't human, why would it bother with those that aren't worth the trouble?
Hell, it was a hollow. They were brutal towards those of their own species. How much more to the other races?
(some notes to remember~)
Hollows can be vicious and uncaring thanks to the effects of consuming others and the insanity that followed, while those like the Arrancar that was fulfilling its favor was one that fed on other things to keep itself sane, as did many that fell under the wing of the Vasto of white.
His method was mostly thanks to a strange tree that provided a source of nourishment just by being near it, as did a strange bat-like creature that was fine with sharing the tree before it disappeared one day and followed one of their hated enemies, a shinigami. Simultaneously, he, too, ended up joining a certain group that made its life more fulfilling.
Thinking back on it, at this time while it bathed itself in the blissful memories, the spider also remembered the nickname Archer Aka Vasto of white it was Sciens (SCI-ens) from Los Cien Ojos, which is his name in his humanoid form in English stood for 'the hundred eyes.'
But back to the point at hand, Sciens stayed put as half of the hundred eyes roamed the building were adding more defenses and traps for the larger monsters while the smaller ones were consumed by the Mono-eyed spiders that acted as guards.
While the other half was quickly collecting all of the essential needs from food to clothes to the 'freshly made' basement of the building since the dead owners won't be needing it anymore and before the other humans start claiming it.
What?
What about the other humans?
Why the hell should he care?
Unless they have a child right then and there that he could see, he didn't give a fuck!
And right now, Sciens focused his attention completely on this one family alone; the instincts of the strong live and weak perish was embedded into his being as he struggles to follow his old mindset and at the same time still left a portion to give the scavengers to use as longing for his old friend was conflicting with his mindset.
As he was already giving quite a bit of self-control since many of the surviving humans were spared from being vaporized or consumed by the guards that were watching their every movement as a building that was still standing and seemed untouched by the new locals that were roaming around killing everything that they could find.
Of course, it would attract quite a bit of attention from anyone around that could see it.
It didn't take long before more humans came running to this intact building as the monsters that did approach were killed or blasted away by something that they couldn't see as the monster's upper body was destroyed or some would gain some kind of bullet hole in their bodies before collapsing to the ground.
Shizuku's family can see Sciens and the mono-eyed spiders thanks to her spiritual energy that they have been around since she was born, and the cousin had been staying with them for quite some time.
So think if it was similar to Chad and Inoue from bleach as they did survive a near-death experience and the method that Scien used to treat their bodies and his own reiatsu that they came in contact with during the process.
But yeah, this new home was like honey for starving bees as large numbers of humans made their way to this place, While Sciens simply ignored the people that were coming since they weren't trying to harm Shizuku or any of her family. Still, the monsters that got too close were eliminated.
His thoughts steered towards finally having a place he could call home, but like always, if someone leaves a haven for anyone to enter, there will always be a person or group that will want it for themselves.
"OI, which is the owner of this place!? show yer self to me!"
A bald man with a large portion of his body tattooed judging for the non-red blood splatter on their bodies and clothes they had their fair share of killing some monsters outside, as ten people with a few women rubbing themselves on the person that shouted made Sciens wonder if there was something wrong with these people, especially with the good number of monster body parts that littered the surroundings of the building.
All of the men had bloodshot eyes, and seemingly battle-hardened bodies really worked to scare away the other new people that were resting, catching their breath, mourning for the dead, and other reasons.
None of them dared to look at this group as the man that shouted gained a smug look on his face before shouting out again.
"Oh? so no one wants to come up!? so I guess it should be fine if I claim this place as my own right!?"
His aggressive tone made many people cower as he had completely forgotten about the outside since they managed to kill a few monsters. They thought of themselves as strong and that the old rules of society had died out!
So they immediately wanted to get the best places as since there was no one claiming to be the bose of this building, it should be fine to make it theirs.
Amazing how humans can forget things so easily, especially when they are souped-up in fear or adrenaline!
One middle-aged man, a teacher from a certain girl's school, as well as from the regular people that came to this building after Shizuku's family spoke.
"I think you should stop this foolishness before you lose your lives!"
One of the bloodthirsty looking men approached him then grabbed him by the collar with some veins protruding from his neck as he asked in a threatening manner.
"HUH!? wat'chu say boi!? are you threatening the boss and us!?"
The man that was being held grimaced before shaking his head with a light chuckle as he too was half insane from the ongoing change of the world since he lost his wife, leaving him with his two sons that were asleep from crying at the loss of their mother before delivering his words while remembering the scene of the strange man with a distorted face who pointed a finger towards the monsters before saying something before the said monster was suddenly missing the upper half of its body, then the white spiders that had one eye that was more than capable of eliminating anything that wasn't human.
So he smiled like a maniac before stating this.
"I am not threatening you; I am warning you since this building might belong to one of the land gods!"
It sounded stupid.
It sounded crazy!
Hell, no one believed him... at first, but after thinking about the invading creatures and how this building was still intact, it was plausible; however, such things aren't believed in unless people see the so-called god or such.
So the goon that was hesitant, thanks to the little speech, made him look to his boss for his decision who coldly commanded.
"break his legs as a thank you."
The goon shrugged before pulling out the baton he had strapped to his waist, then scolded the middle-aged man.
"you should've kept your mouth shut, old man!"
He flicked his wrist to make the device extend before trying to strike the teacher's leg that still had a crazed smile on his face as he saw a little girl holding one of the white spiders close to her chest who yelled out.
"Stop being mean to the old man!"
The girl was trying to be righteous mostly thanks to some old stories she heard from Sciens about a certain 'Archer' being like a hero of justice and wanted to do the same as kids tend to detect the emotions of people around them Shizumi was especially sensitive, so she tried to imitate her sister that acted as a role model to her as Naotora was shown to the little girl a few times and also told tales as well as adventures of her older sibling.
But the group of people following the bald man all turned to her with ferocious looks; the man holding the baton looked even more frightening as she just spoiled his 'fun,' this made her quiver for a bit before recollecting herself as she attempted to repeat herself. Still, one of the men behind the bald man was impatient, angry, and wanted to vent his belly full of anger since they lost more than half of their crew from the sudden change.
The man heavily stomped down with every step to intimidate the child as he was fine with hurting her to teach her an early lesson not to meddle with adults' affairs, especially of their group. Simultaneously, her arms were in a strange position, which he noticed as he got closer; the man assumed that it was just another one of them anime poses that his colleague often mentioned.
He loomed over her like a typical hooligan as he asked her with a glare that made the child gulp in fear.
"HUUUUUUHHH!? what did you say BRAT!?"
This action made Shizumi freeze making her mind shortcircuit momentarily as she was only ten years old. Scenes like this in cartoons and movies that she had seen seemed so easy to imitate, yet with the reality in front of her, and the feeling you'll never experience in the shows made it more than several times scarier for the child that began tearing up.
The man clicked his tongue in annoyance as this left a bitter taste in his mouth so he raised a leg before preparing to kick the girl away rather than beat her as they do to enemies. It was just that when the man did so, fifty glowing eyes had opened up simultaneously as they looked at the man in fury.
The man sensed it too!
He couldn't see what it was or where it was from. Still, one thing was for sure the man felt like death was so near when he was about to take any action against the young girl as sweat covered his body. He froze in place like a statue as it was making him understand what the girl had gone through, just that in his case, think of fifty apex predators that refined their bloodlust for millions of years as they focused it all on you at once!
He wasn't lucky that he didn't go insane or suffered a heart attack from that!
Before, a cold voice echoed out throughout the building.
"Leave now or die!"
The man holding the middle-aged man who was interrupted again in his 'game' tried to talk smack.
"OH yeah? and why-"
The speaker's head suddenly disappeared before his body slumped to the ground creating an eerie silence. The voice stated as the middle-aged man started to mumbled something about divine punishment or something like that.
"That's why! So I will ask again... LEAVE...NOW... OR...DIE!"
The man frozen from the bloodlust was released; he scampered away like he was on fire. Simultaneously, the rest reluctantly retreated, however, only after someone from their group tried to talk. This time it led to two more people dying as Sciens' clone was already angry from the close action towards Shizumi, who in his arms trying to soothe the crying girl; with the hostile group already pushing their luck, he was prepared to eliminate them all at once, but he was trying to reduce the bloodshed that the girl would see which is one of the reasons why the headless corpse didn't have any blood spray out.
This may be a weakness of sorts, but the Arrancar was trying his best to prevent her from seeing the dark side of the world sooner as the fragile girl made him act as such conflict of the way of life, his species, and his old memories.
And by the way, when they were far enough, their existence was erased from this world. He wasn't going to let some ticking time bombs find their way back, now would he?
He would do the same to the others in a heartbeat; it is just that he needs a good number of hands to handle the duties of taking care of the building as while the eyes and clones were hardworking when needed, they are inherently lazy like the original~
