It was actually a bit far-fetched to call it an event.
Lu Li had been invited to be a guest at the competition by The League Association.
Many players would accept such invitations, especially the top players who had been listed as celebrities. They would sit at the table together with the commentators to provide some technical explanation for what was happening.
On one hand, it could expand their popularity and influence, but on the other hand, they needed to be entertaining.
In addition to an appearance fee, the reason why players were attracted to these events was because they could obtain EXP.
To avoid suspicion, the game companies normally did not participate in organizing professional leagues. This was all done by the league associations.
However, that was not to say that the game company did not care.
Under the rules of the game, the creation of the arena and the EXP awarded for players attending were all things that belonged to the company.
