"That was insane." Lua panted, breathing heavily. Despite not doing much work, the knife that had pierced his chest was making it difficult to breathe. He was lucky enough that the blade hadn't penetrated deep enough for it to cause internal damage, but every time he moved his right arm, the wound opened a bit more.
"...You didn't have to help me." Kate said solemnly, her voice barely above a whisper. The electricity cackling from her hands slowly faded away, leaving behind a charred body and the burning smell of meat. This caused Lua to suddenly crave a grill.
Lua chuckled. "I was hired for a purpose, I will do my job regardless of how idiotic my client is."
Despite Lua's snarky remark, Kate couldn't deny that he had saved her life. However, they didn't have enough time to sit around having an idle chatter. They needed to escape, quick.
