Number 9

The bell to the door rang twice before Ryan found his way to it and pulled it open to stare at the stranger standing in front of him.

" Hi, I'm Ryan. How can I be of help?." He asked and watched as the stranger looked around the house, examining it.

" I ask for Wilhelm. " He responded coldly, his face blank and frowned.

" Wait a minute." Ryan responded and brought out his Itel phone, dialing a number.

" Yes Ryan." It was Wilhelm's voice on the phone and he sounded sleepy.

" Someone is here to see you." He responded, his eyes still on the stranger.

" His name?." Wilhelm asked curiously. He wasn't expecting anyone and wondered who it must be.

" Give me a minute.' He said and faced the stranger. ' Your name please?. " Ryan asked.

" Lucien, tell him Kara's brother." The stranger responded.

" Bring him up." Wilhelm ordered and hung up the call.

" Follow me.' Ryan ordered and gestured him to step inside before closing the door behind him. ' He asked that I bring you to his room." He added.

" Okay." Lucien replied and followed him calmly. He still found it hard to believe that his step sister had really gotten married to him even though he had tried so much to convince her. It had all ruin in his plans and now he had to start afresh.

They stopped in front of a Brown door and Ryan tapped on it softly.

" Come in." Wilhelm called out and watched the door open.

" Good morning brother in law. " Wilhelm said getting up from the bed to welcome him.

" Good morning." He responded coldly not liking being called that.

" To what do we owe this wonderful visit." Wilhelm joked wondering why Kara's brother would show up in his house when he clearly hadn't liked him since the ceremony. He didn't even wait for it to end.

" I came here to talk to you." He responded and looked in the direction of the Beta.

" I will excuse you now." Ryan informed and bowed before heading out.

" Are you here to meet your sister?." He asked on seeing him examine the whole room.

" No, where is she though?." He asked curiously since she wasn't in sight.

" Ummm her room... I mean our room." He stammered trying to cover up everything. Letting people know of their true intentions would only complicate things and he want ready for that.

" Why are you sleeping alone then?." He questioned.

" I'm not actually, I don't sleep here. I just had to sort some works out." Wilhelm lied.

" Okay." Lucien replied not really believing him.

" So what brings you here?." He asked and settled on the bed.

" Something that would benefit you as well." He replied.

" Let me at it." Wilhelm responded, happy that he was thoughtful enough to bring a business deal for him.

Kara stopped in her tracks and listened well. She could have sworn that she heard her step brother's voice.

But what could he ever be doing there? Especially in Wilhelm's room.

She thought and listened carefully.

" You should know Kara is one gullible girl but I'm not. I will not let you have the armies to yourself. Olive is back to claim what is truly his so I want you to back off." Lucien informed.

" Who is Olive?." Wilhelm asked.

" Kara's true mate." He replied.

" Oh nice. " Wilhelm chirped in. He didn't really care if Olive was Olive or not, he didn't care a bit about what happens or goes on in her life. They were only partners after all just business partners.

" So what do you say?. " Lucien asked. He had come thee for a purpose and wouldn't leave till achieved. He hoped that Wilhelm was able to reason with him and give her up.

" Nothing." Wilhelm replied. He wasn't interested in their dramas. He wasn't interested in her as well, all he wanted was some peace.

" But I just...."

" Brother. " Kara yelled as soon as she barged in angrily, her eyes glaring hard at him.

" Oh hi Kara, I was just asking your husband here, where you were?. " He lied. He had hoped that he wouldn't run into her but his prayers had fallen on a rock instead.

" Don't pretend Lucien, I heard it all." She yelled disgusted that her own brother would try and ruin in her new marriage.

Only heavens know what he would have said if she hadn't barged in. .

What if whatever it was, Wilhelm had consented to it and filled for a divorce?.

That would only tarnish her image the more and she might lose power over a lot of things especially her.....

She thought.

It was one thing to be left standing on her Luna ceremony day, it is another to be left by a Wolf that had come to her rescue. It would make people talk.

" Heard what?." He asked, pretending to not know anything.

How long had she been there? How much did she hear?.

He thanked his stars that he hadn't really gone into the real reason for his visit.

" Your words. I can't believe you let a man whom humiliated your sister on her big day manipulate you as well." She yelled angrily. She knew that him of all should understand how outrageous it was and how little Olive had belittled her.

" He didn't manipulate me Kara, I believe Olive still loves you." Lucien said ignoring the fact that her husband and Beta was right there. Ryan had rushed in due to the noise.

" Did he call?." She yelled. A part of her still yearning for him. Maybe she still loved him, yes. It would be impossible to suddenly desist a Wolf she loved for years. A man that met her every taste.

" No." He replied

" Message?." She asked.

" No." He replied

" Any visit." She asked, her face getting more squeezed.

" No." He replied.

" Now what makes you think he loves me. Wait don't tell me, he sent his Beta to come deliver the message right.'' She added followed by a laugh. She knew Olive well enough to know his next move and plan, that was who he was. A Wolf who would run away from responsibilities and leave them on the shoulder of his Beta.

" Yes and I feel like he feels sorry for everything. " Lucien replied. Olive's Beta had paraded their place often after the Luna ceremony to show how sorry he was. They had come with gifts and money. Although Olive himself never showed up since his Friend was still so ill and bedridden.

" Can you not...."

" This is a conversation between siblings, I and my Beta will excuse you both." Alpha Wilhelm said and signaled Ryan. Standing there and listening to them talk made him feel like he was getting involved in it.

The door closed behind them softly.

" Kara I want you to rethink this." Lucien said comfortably, wanting his sister to rethink it. He was experienced enough to know that Wilhelm was not right for her.

" There is nothing to rethink Step Brother. I am married already, stick with it." She yelled. She couldn't go back to a Wolf that had made his friend a priority over her. He had left their ceremony for someone else. He had abandoned her without a rethink.

" But..."

" But nothing brother, please leave." She ordered. She didn't want to talk about it or hear his name mentioned.

" You are asking me out of your house." Lucien asked in a shock.

" Yes Lucien, leave and never come back." She yelled. She didn't want to see him if he wasn't ready to think about her first. If he was going to make Olive a priority instead.

" Remember how much I love you Kara, you are my sister." He said..

" Step sister, Lucien, leave." She yelled. She wasn't ready for all the whole emotional blackmail.

" You remember.... "

" You remember the day I had beat your so called lovely son blue and black, left bruises on his face and marks all over his body. Don't let me repeat that on you. " She roared. It had been a tough day when she had gotten into a fight with his Seventeen years old Son, Dylan. He has gotten on her nerves with his rudeness and she had put him in place.

" It's me Kara." He said.

" I know and I don't make empty promises either." She replied coldly.

" I will leave." He responded.

" Better do that now. " She yelled.

" But I promise you that you will regret this." He threatened.

" Leave!!." She roared and watched him walk out of the room.
