Connection with the underworld 17.1

The thug freezes, but shortly after he comes back to his senses. "I apologize, but before I return your pouch, may I know your name?" (Oh? This guy is not the usual outlaw. Let's see what he`s up to) "My name is not well known, but anyhow, I'm Kall Sol."

The man frowns. "I indeed haven't heard of your name, however, I've heard of this spear. The cardinal forged it, but why and to who, not even the Temple knows." He slowly gives me back my pouch, with his eyes locked on my spear.

He steps back and bows, his face dripping in sweat. I put my pouch back in my pocket while staring at him. "I'll be direct with you, I want to buy information. Do you do this kind of job?" He straightens his back and smiles at me.

"Of course, the Shadow is always open to any job." I smile back at him and sit in thin air. His eyes widen a little. "Dear customer is indeed full of secrets." I chuckle and cover my face with my hand. "You're right, I'm full of secrets~" My face starts to change to its original form since I dispel the illusion spell of humanification.

He frowns when he sees my ears, but at any rate, he doesn't care about my background. (As long as the customer has money or unknown information for them, they would accept even a talking donkey as a customer.)

He cleans his trout and speaks. "What kind of information do you need?" I cross my legs and grasp the air in front of me with my right hand. A green orb solidifies on my palm. I stare at him and show him the orb.

He nods and grabs the orb. Immediately after he loses his balance and almost faints. The orb almost hit the ground, but it floats an inch above the ground, and I let a sigh. "I thought you wouldn't be able to withstand it, but to my surprise, you did. Congratulations." I clap my hands three times, with a big interval between each clap.

He gasps and coughs blood. "What did you do to me?!" I smile even widely and get up from my 'invisible' chair. "Me? Nothing. You, however, did a lot. How does it feel, to rebirth from inside out?" His eyes lost its life, and he fainted. "Fufu, another pawn for me to use~"

I trained my Life Force control in the meantime of the 'rebirth' of the thug. I feel a slight improvement, but nothing worth mentioning. From time to time, I open my eyes to see the guy's condition. "Good thing I put you to sleep... Damn."

Even though I've been through endless torture, I've never reacted in any way. (I remember Bella almost eating her nails in frustration... Ah, good times.) But mortals are weak to pain, and the process this poor soul is going through is something even I would avoid.

He's feeling every mana vein inside him exploding and eroding his mana from inside out, and then the Life Force from the orb forcing his body to create new mana veins. He'll be far stronger when the process ends but in the meantime... He can only endure it.

It would take three days for him to be completely new.

*SHHH*

The pile of meat (Aka thug) expels a gust of air with a horrible smell. "Impurities, and a lot of them. You killed a lot of people, didn't you, you little devil~"
