A little spark in the darkness 14.2

When I left the room, I cast a spell on the old elf's body. It was a spell that I created, that would keep the body from decomposing.

I close the door and sigh. I don't clean my mouth. "I know you're observing me. You can show yourself, I won't bite." I close my eyes. "I won't do anything, if you want to kill me, so be it." A brief moment of silence...

*Fshhh* The sound of a mana dart being cast. I stay still. (I've been tortured for years. Some injuries are nothing, if I can catch him~.) It hits my chest on the right. Blood starts to flow. "I won't do anything...You can believe me. I'm here to save you."

He shots three more mana darts at me, but this time he aimed for nonlethal shots. They pierce my left leg, right arm, and left shoulder. Even with four holes in my body, I don't move an inch. "Satisfied?"

I open my eyes. Over the years, my dark vision got much better, mostly because my cell, or 'laboratory', was always in the dark. In front of me, is a dark elf with brown skin and gray hair.

"To think I would meet someone like me in this century. Who is your patron?" While he speaking, he created a mana dart on each finger of his hands. I giggle and smile. "I don't have a patron, at least for now. I'm more curious about your patron~."

He launches the mana dart on his index finger to my chest. It pierces my heart. Blood starts erupting from my chest. My smile gets even wider. "Oh, please. It hurts, but it won't kill me. Try again, maybe you get 'bullseye'."

Mana carrying Life gets into my chest. The flow of blood stops, and the dark elf's right brow raise. "I've never seen this type of divinity. Is it a minor deity, or a nature aspect?" I don't answer his question, instead, I close my eyes and start chanting.

"~Unfortunate souls... That wander without a goal... The reaper of souls... You'll lose control... Of your unfortunate soul~."
