The Forbidden Temptation

What will happen when a fiercely defiant woman crosses paths with a meticulously structured demigod King? Step into the land of Veridia, where danger and magic collide in a spellbinding tale of love and freedom. Meet Elara, a rebellious young human girl trapped in a cruel and unfair world. She is abused in every way imaginable. That includes financial exploitation, cruel words, and even physical violence. Her spirit, however, is unbreakable, shining through the darkness that surrounds her. On the other side of Veridia is Caspian. He is a noble demigod king who takes his responsibilities very seriously. He prefers law and order. And he is concerned about anything that might disturb his peaceful kingdom. But fate has other plans. Despite their differences, Elara and Caspian find themselves drawn to each other. Their connection is forbidden, but it brings them comfort and excitement. Their feelings intensified. And it called into question their beliefs and the paths they thought they would take. Can Elara and Caspian put aside their differences? Can they work together to defy expectations? Or will their own desires drive them apart, putting Veridia in danger? EXCERPT: Elara took a bold step forward. Her voice dripped with confidence as she faced Caspian. "I am not going to let Veridia control me, and I am not going to be anyone's puppet; I am going to live freely, with or without you." Caspian's eyes glinted dangerously. And he approached in a low, intense tone. "You are not getting away that easily, no chance." Caspian reached out and grabbed Elara by the waist in an unexpected move. Their lips met in a daring, passionate kiss that felt like a challenge to the rest of the world. It was a clash of strong wills, a battle filled with urgent intensity. They finally drew away, both breathing heavily. "This kiss is not something we can ignore, Elara." Elara's pupils constricted. A mix of rage and desire danced in them. “Don't mistake this kiss for surrender, Caspian But for the time being, I will go along with it. Remember, I'm not a helpless damsel waiting to be saved. I am a force to be reckoned with, and you'll need to keep up if you want to be part of my world." Everything else faded away as they focused solely on each other. Their clash was like a raging storm, wild and untamed. And they wavered on the brink of surrender and control. ----------------------------------------- Feel free to get in touch with me: FB: author aelia IG: authoraelia Website: authoraelia.wordpress.com Mail: author.aelia@gmail.com Discord: https://discord.gg/T6MfDdpe

Chased and Chaser

Just the idea of being trapped again sent shivers down Elara's spine. She wouldn't allow herself to appear weak, though.

"Thanks, but I'll pass, milord," she retorted. Her voice was strong and resolute.

Elara started to turn away. She was ready to leave on her own terms.

However, the stranger didn't yield. He held onto his composed demeanor. His words are carefully chosen.

"It's my duty to ensure your safety and guide you home, milady," he declared.

His words felt like ropes trying to tug at her emotions.

"I understand that I've caused you discomfort, and I wish to make it right," he explained. "I'm here to fulfill that obligation."

The cloaked figure's determination felt like an unbreakable charm. But Elara wasn't about to be intimidated by his imposing presence.

"I don't care about your duties, milord," she snapped back. Her voice was defiant. "I'm not some damsel in distress. See?"

She made her point clear, wiggling her toes to show she was perfectly fine.

Even in the face of her spirited retort, the stranger's calm composure remained intact. He seemed unaffected by her words.

"Your well-being is important," he responded evenly. "I apologize for any discomfort I've caused. But I cannot simply ignore my responsibility."

Elara's eyes narrowed. Her determination was unwavering. "Well, you can't force me to accept your help."

"I won't force you, milady. But I strongly believe it is in your best interest."

She crossed her arms. The lines on her forehead showed her resolve. "I said I'm fine."

"Then I should just accompany you until you return safely to your home, milady," he insisted.

Elara huffed, feeling a mix of frustration and appreciation.

'He's really not backing down,' she thought. Her inner conflict warred against the undeniable assurance he projected.

But Elara's determination was unshaken. She had a taste of freedom, and she wasn't ready to give it up.

Her gaze swept over the cloaked figure, assessing him from head to toe. He was completely hidden, not a bit of his skin visible.

'There's a secret he's keeping,' she mused, a plan forming in her mind. 'He wouldn't show his face so easily to a stranger. I can use that to my advantage.'

"Perhaps it's time to reveal yourself, milord," she challenged, her voice confident. "It's not exactly proper for a young lady to be with a stranger, you know?"

Her lips curled into a sly grin. Mischief danced in her eyes.

Elara observed the stranger's momentary surprise at her question.

'He didn't expect that,' she thought, her curiosity piqued.

"I can't reveal who I am, milady," he finally responded, his voice sure but tinged with sadness.

'He's hiding something,' she mused, her doubt growing stronger.

'Pure intentions? In Veridia?' Elara's inner voice scoffed at the stranger's claim. Her skepticism was clear.

"Then I don't need a guardian," Elara shot back, her confidence unwavering.

'I can take care of myself,' she affirmed silently.

"Goodbye, Lord Shadow," she announced, a triumphant grin on her lips as she bowed quickly.

With that, she turned on her heel and walked away. Each step is fueled by her determination.

'I won't let anyone change my course,' she thought resolutely.

Elara hurried away, catching a faint chuckle behind her. Ignoring it, her focus was clear—to escape as quickly as possible.

'Tempest, where are you?' she muttered, scanning the woods anxiously. Once familiar, they now seemed eerie and unfamiliar.

"I don't know how to leave," she admitted, her confidence wavering.

Regret clawed at her thoughts, questioning her decision to leave the cloaked man.

Maybe she should have stayed. Doubt gnawed at her as she walked, footsteps echoing around her. But they weren't hers alone.

'Who's there?' Elara whispered to herself, trying to stay composed.

Fear gripped her heart, uncertainty clouding her mind. Could it be a monster? A demon?

"Stay calm," she reminded herself, her voice determined but tinged with worry.

She took a deep breath, trying to steady herself as her heart raced.

Elara stole a quick glance behind her, and to her surprise, it was the cloaked man trailing her steps.

"Ah," a sudden relief washed over her, a feeling she hadn't expected. An unspoken reassurance told her he meant no harm.

But that only heightened her curiosity. 'Why is he following me?' she wondered, her mind racing with possibilities.

"I already said I don't want company," she stated firmly, assessing his presence.

She kept her pace steady, her path unchanged.

"I'm not following you, milady," the cloaked man responded calmly. "Our paths simply align."

Elara's brow furrowed in thought. 'He's not chasing me. He's going the same way,' she concluded, her wariness beginning to subside.

It made sense, though she still found it strange. 'If he's not a threat, then why…?'

She adjusted her course slightly, veering away from the path. 'Let's see if he keeps following,' she pondered, her steps quickening.

To her surprise, he matched her new direction, his determination unwavering.

'Is he really just coincidentally going the same way?' Elara couldn't help but wonder, a mix of skepticism and curiosity taking over.
