Too bad, although he wasn't entirely wrong, the will specifies "James's son" instead and that makes him have no legal basis for his claim. He wasn't even interested in that house or the screaming portrait magically affixed to the wall it contained, but in the vast library of Black family knowledge. More precisely, in any books on protections against the Dark Arts.

Due to the record of his illustrious family history, the people in charge of the Ministry found it impossible to refuse no matter how hard they tried to think of an excuse or law, while they wiped the sweat from their foreheads thinking how they were going to explain the situation to their superiors.

Would his department still exist if there were no house elves left to manage?

What did he want so many house elves for?

Naturally, he wanted them to work for him. They would help him produce the goods for the store, look after and supply the raw materials, tidy up the warehouse, etc.

Just think of the ones who work in the Hogwarts kitchens.

The house elves gained some height to meet an exact meter, appeared less self-conscious, cleaner and not only lost that malnourished child image, but some JoJo characters would be envious of their muscles.

Mind you, when Hermione found out what he did when one of her house elves served them some snacks at the end of one of the Order meetings, there was the need to have a very long talk.

Fortunately for Soisen, an Aladdin-esque "Do you trust me?" avoided hours of verbal sparring. Hermione was aware of Soisen's personality and knew he would not treat anyone around him badly, she was just very surprised.

One additional thing she thought of was to buy and convert several Night Owl Buses into fast food service wagons.

But I didn't know if the Ministry resented taking all the house elves away or what the exact reason was, but they responded with a resounding refusal, saying it was a technology unique to the Ministry.

In fact, perhaps they smelled that what Soisen wanted was to decipher the unique enchantments the vehicle had in order to replicate them in real magical Food Trucks.

A real pity.

Soisen saw so many things with potential and that wizards used for nonsense.....

Perhaps only muggle-borns, who have been reading fantasy novels for a while, understand that wizards really aren't getting the full potential out of their gift.
