New identity

Raiden woke up before the sun came up. He stretched, got out of bed, and started stretching again. Everything that happened yesterday appeared in his head again. He then controlled his mana and released all of it out until he felt exhausted. After that, he went outside walked down the stairs and Raiden saw Alfred going inside.

"Wow your an early riser," Alfred said as he hangs the leather armor he is wearing near the door.

"Are you going to sleep yeah?" Raiden asked as he steps to the first floor.

"Yeah, My turn guarding was up, you can eat the extra bed on the table if you want," Alfred said as he points at the table. Afterward, he approaches the stair and taps Raidens Shoulder.

"Have a nice sleep," Raiden said when Alfred went up.

-

After eating the bread Raiden went out and the sun still hasn't risen. He went out for a jog.

While he was jogging for a long time around the fields he thought ' hmm I'm still not tired, maybe I should just sprint.'

Raiden Increased his speed but just as he started running he felt his mana moves to his legs and he realized that he was using his one skill [Speed boost: Lvl 2]. He looked at his legs and sees them glowing, it was faint but it was the only part of his body that was glowing. It felt that his legs were stronger, and his body lighter. Every single step left a very visible footprint on the hard soil.

'This felt like that time I was trying to run away from the baron boar.' Raiden thought as he sprints then all of a sudden he hears a familiar voice behind him.

"What are you doing so early?." Ena said while running behind Raiden.

Raiden surprised accidentally canceled [Speed boost: Lvl 2], he then felt his body become heavier a little and his legs felt weaker, Because of the sudden changed Raiden was not able to find balance and tripped. He rolled on the dirt for a few steps and stopped at a patch of grass near where the villagers gather water from. He luckily did not fell in the water.

Ena stood near Raiden and asked again, "What are you doing?"

"Just running," Raiden said, laying on the grass.

"Well anyway, do you wanna join me hunting later, The other hunters usually form groups but they have been hunting together for a long time I don't think I can fit in their groups," Ena said, her eyes were wide and there was a hint of greed in them.

"Haven't you been hunting alone fine?" Raiden jokingly asked.

Ena paused a little and said, "The village chief insisted that I shouldn't hunt alone."

Obviously a lie, Taiden then said, "You just want to hunt more Baron Boars."

After being seen thru Ena panicked, She then confessed, "Fine I give up, I want to hunt more Baron Boars, It's just that last night's meal was so good. We got to eat a lot of meat because of that,"

Looking at Ena's innocent and hungry expression, Raiden gave up and accepted the invitation.

having grown up alone, Ena relied on whatever Richard's wife cooked because there are people like Alfred who have no time to cook, the feast last night rarely happened. As the sun was rising most of the villagers are already awake and are starting to do their jobs, There are some who fed the horses and, some went to tend to the field.

As Raiden was standing up the village chief approached them, Raiden and Ena didn't notice where he came from.

"Goodmorning kids. Raiden, my daughter, Heather is looking for you," The village chief said. he then went to the fields.

As Raiden was walking towards the village chief's house he was looking at what the village chief was doing in the fields. He looked closely and he sees that the village chief is glowing then, as Raiden concentrated he sees a wave of faint light spread across the field.

"The village chief is very active," Ena said as he follows Raiden.

Raiden just nodded at the remark, then he asked, "What is he doing?"

"The village chief likes to hang around the field. Because he is blessed by the nature god around my age he has been using a basic nature spell to help the crops grow." Ena said

When they approached Richard's house, Ena joyfully split off towards the butcher.

Raiden continued to walk to the village chief's house. When he stood in front of the door, just before his hands hit the door for a knock he heard Miss Heather, "Come in."

Surprised, Raiden just opened the door.

Looking around, Raiden noticed that there is less paper compared to yesterday in the table.

"Sit down Raiden, I just have a few questions. You better answer carefully, I will know if you are lying." Heather said with a very serious face.

"Ok," Raiden replied nervously.,

"Don't be nervous, no one is going to hurt you. You are pretty much safe since Ena trust you, I also trust you. But now I need to know a few things so you can have proper identification. Our village is not under a rule of a noble but it is still under the Silvestris Kingdom. We still need to follow laws and we are not allowed to take in a person without properly documenting them." Heather explained.

After informing Raiden of a lot of legal things regarding his stay and existence in the village and the consequence that those result for him and the village, Heather has finally begun Questioning.

"First of all how old are you," Heather asked in an indifferent tone

"ughh, I'm 16" Raiden answered

"Ok! Where are you from exactly," Heather asked, but this time anyone can feel the tension from her voice.

"Ughhh! Well, I came from a very far place." Raiden said. He plans to be as vague as possible but without lying.

"I said, where exactly," Heather said with an annoyed yet serious look.

"Do I really have to say where I'm from, what differences does it make?" Raiden asked.

Heather was surprised by the young boy's sudden rebuttal. She then smirked and said, "Wow! You're more mature than you look. Well for your question, it does not make any difference since the next thing is the most important part. Honestly, I understand that there are people who are either, ashamed, or terrified of the place where they are from and are running away from them. But you are neither of those, yet you are not hiding something."

Raiden can feel his heart almost come out of his chest because of the nervousness, his sweat was flowing, and his hands are a little shakey. He can feel that Heather is doing something to him. Just being in her presence made him weak.

"You can be at ease now," Heather said, trying to calm Raiden.

She then took out a small crystal ball that can fit in a child's palm.

"Hold this, This part is very important. As you may or may not have known, Everyone is blessed by the creator god, which means everyone is being monitored. Committing an act that the gods oppose will affect one's mana. This ball allows us to determine whether a person has ever done a heinous act." Heather explained as she hands the small ball to Raiden.

"Now put in some mana into it," Heather said.

While holding the ball lightly, Raiden injected some mana into it. Almost instantly, the room lights up because of the ball. It was shining so bright that Heather immediately ordered Raiden to stop.

"Stop!"

Upon hearing Heather's voice, Raiden stopped and felt extremely nervous again. After a while, his nervousness stopped.

"Fine! Last thing hold this card. Inject some mana into it, keep it, and get out," Heather said in a hurry throwing a small metallic card to Raiden and waving at him to get out of the house.

After catching the card, Raiden ran out.

"What the heck was that," Heather whispered to her self.

-

Outside of the house, Raiden inspects the card.

"Hmmm. She said inject some mana into this" Raiden muttered while looking at the card.

The metallic silver card had a leaf with claw marks on it engraved in a circle on the upper right corner when held sideways. Raiden then moves a small amount of mana into the card.

The card then brightens a little, a small light starts moving in the card, writing his name.

"Oh, so this is an identification card. Nice." Raiden muttered to himself again while looking at his name. Although there seems to be something wrong.
