The Goal

"The first thing you need to know is that there is a difference between skills and spells. Skills, like what I showed earlier, you only need to pour your mana somewhere to make an effect. Skills don't need an incantation. Spells, on the other hand, need incantation and you need to be blessed by a god to use spells." Ena told Raiden.

"Can you use a spell?" Raiden asked excitedly as he plays with his mana.

"Well everyone can use basic spells that the creator god bestowed to everyone, The best example is showing your personal abilities that contains a list of your skills," Ena said as she raises her hand in front of her.

"Abilities" Ena Chanted, after a second, some sort of screen appears in front of her hand. After it appeared the screen disappeared immediately.

"Please understand that not everyone wants to show their abilities, I am warning you that shouldn't show it to just anybody," Ena lectured Raiden.

"Ok! let me try!" Raiden said as he raised his hand forward.

'Wut,,,,What the heck is this at the end?' Raiden stares at his abilities dumbfounded.

Ena took a peek and read the one at the bottom then laughed.

"Hahahaa! What was that, Hahaha! You have two Talents and I admit that one of them is cool and amazing but both together is just very hilarious I'm sorry. Hahaha!" Ena laughed hysterically at Raiden's talents.

When Ena calmed down she said, "That is why you don't necessarily have to show your abilities to everyone."

Raiden stares at his abilities and asked, "How do I get stronger?"

"Well it's easy, just keep practicing," Said Ena as she shoots the target again.

Raiden smiled, with this his dreams of feeling the wind on his face while moving so fast wouldn't be a dream anymore but a goal that is achievable.

After an hour of Raiden practicing the control of his mana, Alfred came over

"Hey, Richard is handing out everyone's share, the women also made bread and soup already, you coming," Alfred calls out to Raiden.

"Oh sure." Raiden followed and had a meal also. The small village of around fifty people was eating peacefully that evening in a building near where Raiden and Ena were training.

Around twenty people were there getting their share, some stored extra bread in their houses. all of the kids are enjoying the meal. All the villagers are talking about how Ena was able to hunt a baron boar. While Ena is eating her meat, kids were flocking her and talking about her in awe. While Raiden was eating beside Alfred an old man approached him.

"Oh! are you the visitor?" The old man asked.

"Father in law! I mean Village Chief." Alfred said.

The village chief looked seriously at Alfred and said, "I approved of you Alfred but as long she doesn't agree on marrying you, do not call me that. And you need to prepare, you are going to get your blessing next week. You too Ena."

After lecturing the two, the village chief looked at Raiden again, smiled, and said, "Welcome to this little village Raiden." and walked away right after.

"Anyway! Raiden do you need a place to sleep, my place is free since I'm scheduled for most of the night." Alfred said as he finished eating.

"Thanks," Raiden replied as he finished eating.

After they were done eating Raiden said, "The Village Chief is really intimidating."

Alfred smirked, "You're just not used to him, and maybe because he is a mage."

"Mage?" Raiden asked.

"Anyone who is blessed by another god other than the creator god is called a mage," Ena Replied immediately

"Yeah! but what's really amazing with the village chief is that he is blessed by the earth god and the nature god." Alfred added.

"Is that rare?" Raiden asked as he drank water.

"Not really, it is common but most people who try to get blessings only get one," Alfred answered.

"Enough of that, it's late already, Raiden you should stay at my place tonight," Alfred said as he stands.

"Goodnight!" Ena said as she pats a kid's head.

After a small walk, Alfred and Raiden entered a house across Richard's.

"You can sleep in my father's old room, it's the first room when you go upstairs. I'm heading to the gate now, sleep well." Alfred said pointing upstairs, then walked out of the house.

As Raiden slowly walks up the dark house he looks around, he notices only one chair a small table for a kitchen, it seems that no utensils have been used in a while. Raiden continues and climbs up the stairs. he sees two doors. Raiden enters the room closer to the stairs, he looks around. The room looks like it has not been used for a long time but also looks like it is being regularly cleaned.

As Raiden prepares to sleep, he meditates and tries to control his mana, moving his mana in and out of his body in order to better grasp it. He releases his mana ones in a while around him.

After feeling exhausted again, he lays down on the bed.

"How fast will I be able to go," Raiden said smiling. Everything that happened today still shocks him, but the thought of what he could achieve lingers in his head. He then continues to sleep after a long and exhausting day.
