Chapter-103 The Nuclear Codes pt-4

A drop of moisture trickled from the edges of the conic ceiling of the sewer system.
Silence!
Usually, other than the underground rats; one rarely finds any other living thing down here in the dark. This was a major reason why it was so silent within the underground route.
Occasionally, the municipality would send some people to make sure that the sewage system worked properly; but it had been a long time since the last inspection was conducted.
Typhoons and earthquakes were a major problem for the Japanese people to combat!
Each year the Japanese would face lots of problems due to the rare collapse of a certain section of the sewage system; not to mention the damage caused by the summer typhoons.
But due to the advancement of technology and magic; the need to rebuild the sewage system was non-existent.
This actually made this place totally deserted and quiet!
Clomp!
The sound of the boots rustling against the floor was quite clear and easily audible in the silence!
Multiple shadows could be observed on the walls; similarly on the surface of the water; signifying the presence of people in the dark.
The place was dark yet not exactly so, green lights were installed within the walls to illuminate the path and make it easier to navigate inside the unending labyrinth.
Each of these individuals wore black outfits; to blend in the darkness as they made their way through of sewage system.
The one walking in front of the group was the leader, his strange yet unique outfit also cemented his status as their leader; he held a digital projector within his hands.
"Hm...our goal is quite some distance away from the current position, I guess we need to pick up the pace!"
Overhaul hated the unhygienic environment, one of the reasons why he wore a plaque mask and gloves to cover his face and hands.
Today, he was forced to make his get-away through such means but if he had a choice, he would have never chosen to do this!
'Just you wait, Kudou Retsu!'
'I will make you pay for this humiliation!'
Overhaul rarely got angry; much less lose his cool over something which didn't seem like a big thing but obviously, was for him.
He gritted his teeth and promised himself to pay back for this humiliation!
8-more individuals followed behind him; their boss!
Each of them carried various weapons and equipment which clearly conveyed the message that these guys weren't to be messed with; in case you are an average person.
"Hm? A four-way junction?"
"Looks like I just need to keep moving forward."
A wild junction has appeared!
Overhaul and the others one by one made their way towards the junction.
One by one each!
There were two passages extending towards left and right directions; even further in the dark.
Where did these pathways lead to?
No idea my friend!
Everyone crossed the junction and kept on moving forward; the one at the last was a little bit show when compared to his colleagues.
Overhaul turned to look back at his subordinates; making sure that none needed any assistance.
He then proceeds to look towards the last individual who was still standing near the junction.
"Sigh...move quickly and don't waste my time!"
"Yes, Si—"
The poor man didn't even get the chance to reply to his boss before being yanked into the darkness by two black colored hands that had appeared out of nowhere.
"Ahhhh!...."
A blood-curdling scream resounded throughout the sewage system!
"Rukiku!?"
Overhaul shocking called out for his subordinate who had just disappeared into the darkness!
Immediately, every one of the 7-individuals surrounded their boss; making a protective circle around him while also watching each other's backs!
Multiple magic circles appeared within the murky place; lighting up the area from the various magic colors!
Two of them immediately launched their attacks inside the dark junction whereas the others concentrated on trying to pinpoint the location of the enemy.
"[Convergence-Type:-Ice Beam]" (Mob.2)
"[Ancient-Magic:-Black Raven]"
(Mob.3)
Bam!
A small explosion exploded within one of the many routes of the sewage system; doing considerable damage to the infrastructure of the walls supporting the place.
"Did we get him!?" (Mob.2)
"No blood, no sound, no nothing! Be on alert!" (Mob.3)
Flicker!
The green lights started flickering on and off as the anxiety level of the group increased by a lot!
Now, Overhaul could have used his magic to maybe deal with the enemy but there was a very big risk in doing so!
His magic basically restructures the pre-structured things, if he restructured the floor or walls then that would also mean that he had changed the support structure of the underground sewage system.
In simpler terms; the whole place could collapse on top of them if Overhaul carelessly used his magic!
"Keep your eyes peeled! For the enemy may attack from anywh—"
Overhaul had to stop speaking mid-sentence; due to the sudden appearance of a skull masked individual in front of him.
This person directly appeared inside the protective circle made by Overhaul's subordinate; like it was a walk in the park!
Overhaul's eyes widened as he recognized the newcomers right away!
"[The Sin of the Dragon]!?"
Crack!
The ground beneath his feet caved in as a powerful magic sequence appeared beneath his feet!
He wasn't going to hold back against the crazy lunatic known as the [Sin of the Dragon]; especially since he himself was a member of [No Head Dragon].
He didn't care about the consequences of his magic anymore!
Only one thought dominated in mind!
Survive!
Somehow! Fucking survive!

Unfortunately, the skull-masked individual was half a step faster than his enemy!
A [Flash-Bang Grenade] was tossed in the air as an intense light and sound made the others close their eyes and grit their teeth to go through the pain of having their ears raped by the sound!
As once stated by a great man!

The flash-bang certainly created lots of light, which in turn gave birth to lots of shadows; and we all know what happens when you have shadows around you and you are the [Sin of the Dragon].
"Ahh!..." (Mob.4)
"Fuck!..." (Mob.5)
"Kill him!..." (Mob.6)
"My leg!..." (Mob.7)
"Protect boss!..." (Mob.8)
Multiple screams bellowed in the dark yet Overhaul was unharmed during this ordeal!
He had constructed a powerful shield around himself to try and escape!
Everyone knew that [Sin of the Dragon] had troublesome magic that was wholly related to shadows.
Fighting inside a sewer; a place filled with shadows would be very stupid for him; thus his first goal was to escape and regroup!
