The Extra’s Survival: Logging into the Game Master System!

The Apocalypse descended as the world turned into a game. And while everyone panicked, I couldn’t help but wonder if there was something wrong with my eyes. [Logging into the Game Master’s Account!] And my ‘oh-so-average’ destiny, changed into ‘is this a cheat life?’ Kind of destiny. [Would you like to Create a Skill? GM Points will be consumed!] While others struggled to kill a single goblin, I was searching for stronger monsters. While they were happy with getting even a random weak skill, I was customizing what kind of skills I needed. Even my Talents and Gifts can be customised. The only limit was my imagination. Heck, even the hidden quests that people would trigger randomly were present in front of me even before the scenario began.  It wasn’t fair by any means. But isn’t that how life is already? [Would you like to make changes to the quests in the next scenario? GM Points will be consumed!] Is this how an apocalypse is supposed to be? I don’t know. I just tried following the script in front of everyone while trying out my cheat in hindsight. Don't get me wrong with the ‘pig eating tiger’ kind of thing. I just don’t like attention. I would rather stay with two trusted friends than with 10 fake ones. [Would you like to Initiate a Custom quest for the Players? GM Points will be consumed!] And for the players who were bullying the ‘weak’ me. One may even wonder how they ended up losing half of their stats and skills in a randomly triggered impossible type of quest.  Fate can be truly scary, you know?  One must always be careful of it.

[Hidden Quest!]

"We need to run!" Alex shouted as he looked at those incoming monsters while Alice observed the surroundings for an escape. Mark looked at me for some hope, while I observed the area for a few seconds before asking,

"How long till the quest ends?"

"5 minutes," Alice answered immediately and taking out the dual guns from my pocket, I shouted,

"Everyone. Get down."

Though confused, they all followed my words as soon as they looked at what's in my hands. And as soon as they got on their knees…

-BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

[You have killed an E-Grade Monster: Elite Water Goblin!]

[+5000 Points!]

[+125 GM Points!]

[You have killed an E-Grade Monster: Elite Water Goblin!]

.

.

10 seconds passed as all the goblins vanished from our sight. I used about 100 MP per shot to make sure they don't get back up, costing me 1700 MP at once. I should reduce the amount of MP by 10 at a time to see how much it really requires to kill them.

"This should give us a bit of a break. Let's wait for 5 minutes before tracing back to the safe zone. Though I would be depending upon you guys for the rest of the journey," I spoke as I looked at them all with their eyes opened up wide.

"What the heck was that?!!! Damn Adrian!! Just what have you been doing the past few days man?!!!" Mark broke the silence as he spoke what was on everyone's mind. I just smiled as I spoke,

"Found a hidden dungeon. Got these as the reward along with a skill that allows me to double my firepower for 10 minutes."

They were shocked to hear that. The duo with Alex had a tint of jealousy in their eyes before I chuckled and added,

"It runs on Mana. Each bullet consumed about 10 MP, so I only have 17 more bullets left before I need to recharge again. On that note, do you guys have any Mana Potions? I think I am gonna need them."

Hearing that, the surprised expression of those people were calmed a little as they understood that if it was something like unlimited bullets, it would be too overpowered. And anyone with low mana won't be able to use it as well.

Alex, who caught on a bit about the usage of the gun then thought of something before he asked,"why don't you give it to Alice, then? She has a huge mana reserve and should be able to use it for a longer time."

It was a nice idea. At least based on the information they all had.

"It's bound to me," I spoke as I passed on the guns to Alice, who made a simple nod before passing it back to me.

-Rawr!

-Rawr!

More of the goblins came, making us alarmed again. Noticing the situation, I then spoke to Alice and Mark,"you guys help too. Though don't use too much power since you will be handling most of the monsters on our way back."

They nodded, and a rough battle ensued with me taking out most of the goblins, while I pretended to drink Mana potions as I stored them in my inventory. I calculated the amount of Mana required to kill those monsters and it fell somewhere around 5-6 MP. Way less than I started with in the beginning.

A normal water goblin required 2 MP per shot by the way. So in a way these were at least 2 to 3 times stronger than normal ones. Though the fact a couple of them were alive even after using 6 MPs, made me wonder if there was something that I was missing here.

Perhaps they had some form of defensive equipment as well? Could be possible.

'And the fact that they are still E-Grade,' I thought as I looked at them before observing the giant pelikans in the sky. Were they D-Grade like those smaller Pelikans, too?

The next 5 minutes passed rather slowly as I killed all the Water Goblins present here.

"FATHER!!!" Shouted that daughter of the chief, signifying the completion of the quest. And looking in the direction where she was pointing, we observed a giant. One eyed cyclops pulling a wagon tied with a rope.

On both sides, there were two giant pelikans carrying two strange muscular goblins. Unlike the previous goblins, these were red, and had red marking all over their body. Their height was equal to ours, as they stood with those swords in their hands.

Behind them was a battalion of at least 20 red goblins, flying on pelikans. And below them were at least 100 red goblins walking with weapons of all kinds.

But what was the most eye-catching was the giant goblin, at least 10 meters tall. He was sitting on a giant chair, above a humongous Pelikan. That Peilkan was comparable to those worm monsters in the air. Its size was at least 10 times more than the giant pelikans already present in the sky.

[Hidden Quest Triggered!]

[Quest: Save the Chief!

Difficulty: Insane!

Objective: The chief of the lost tribe has been captured by the monsters. Find the den of the monsters and save the chief!

Reward: 25,000 Points; +3 Attribute Points; [Random Earth Blessing!]]

"RUN!!" Alex shouted while everyone started running away without wasting any breath. Even Mark and Alice and the NPCs began running without wasting any moment. The only thing that could save them from monsters was the safe zone.

The rewards weren't worth it. The efforts weren't worth it. Even if we try, there was no way we could have saved that Chief. Everyone ran while I stood there looking at the chief in that cage.

Though much to my surprise, other than me, there were three more people who stood there with their eyes glued to that chief. They were the daughter, the son in law, and the granddaughter of the chief.

"You guys should go as well. I don't know if you know it or not but the situation is pretty dangerous," I spoke to them, as I saw the others were running without wasting any moment.

"What are you going to do?" The daughter asked me with a bit of a hopeless expression.

"We won't go. If this is how we die, it's fine. We accept it," the man spoke as he sighed in the end. It seems he has come to terms with his life. Though sadly it won't be today that he will die.

"Well. I got a chief to save. You guys should really go… it will be distracting to protect both the chief along with you, you know?" I spoke as I looked at them with their eyes opening up wide. My eyes looked at that man before speaking,

"Go. I will return soon."

That man gulped before picking up his daughter and holding his wife's hand. Then, with complexion in their eyes, they began moving towards the safe zone as well.

And I took a deep sigh. Before I turned around to look at that army of monsters coming in my direction. My eyes narrowed at the GM points I had collected in this small fight before, and then I stretched my arms before taking the first step towards them.
