The Extra’s Survival: Logging into the Game Master System!

The Apocalypse descended as the world turned into a game. And while everyone panicked, I couldn’t help but wonder if there was something wrong with my eyes. [Logging into the Game Master’s Account!] And my ‘oh-so-average’ destiny, changed into ‘is this a cheat life?’ Kind of destiny. [Would you like to Create a Skill? GM Points will be consumed!] While others struggled to kill a single goblin, I was searching for stronger monsters. While they were happy with getting even a random weak skill, I was customizing what kind of skills I needed. Even my Talents and Gifts can be customised. The only limit was my imagination. Heck, even the hidden quests that people would trigger randomly were present in front of me even before the scenario began.  It wasn’t fair by any means. But isn’t that how life is already? [Would you like to make changes to the quests in the next scenario? GM Points will be consumed!] Is this how an apocalypse is supposed to be? I don’t know. I just tried following the script in front of everyone while trying out my cheat in hindsight. Don't get me wrong with the ‘pig eating tiger’ kind of thing. I just don’t like attention. I would rather stay with two trusted friends than with 10 fake ones. [Would you like to Initiate a Custom quest for the Players? GM Points will be consumed!] And for the players who were bullying the ‘weak’ me. One may even wonder how they ended up losing half of their stats and skills in a randomly triggered impossible type of quest.  Fate can be truly scary, you know?  One must always be careful of it.

[Last Day of the Tutorial!]

[Adrian's POV!]

.

[26 Hours: 33 minutes: 12 seconds!]

I looked at the time left for the tutorial to end, before looking at Mark and Alice in the distance, protecting those NPCs from the monsters coming from the forest.

It's been 12 hours since I arrived here, but given how well they were performing, I decided to wait and watch them while killing the incoming waves of monsters. Also, it was a perfect hunting spot since the monsters from the tutorial were attracted to the large group of NPCs.

Plus me killing those monsters will reduce the burden on the group as well. It's a win-win situation.

[Weapon: Twin Guns of Azeroth!

Rank: D

Description: Allows the user to shoot mana bullets at a rapid speed. These dual guns have the power to pierce even the densest of the defenses!

Status: Bound to Adrian John Redriguez!

Attack power: Wisdom x Mana Applied x 2

Effects:

-With each shot hit, the user's chance of landing a critical hit increases by 1%!]

I increased the grade of the weapon, and the next grade was costing 125,000 points, so I was trying to move towards that goal. Though…

[GM Points: 56,450!]

Even after killing more than 100 Pelikans in the last 13 hours, I realized that it would take at least another 9 or 10 hours to get 125,000 GM points. Hence, I wondered if I should try increasing the grade of my other items instead?

I mean, given how things were going from bad to worse, and how the number of monsters were increasing at a rapid speed, I should at least focus on defense in case I ran out of mana.

And with that thought point, I went to something that I was looking for sometime now.

[Gloves: Black Leather Gloves of Grace

Grade: E

Durability: 500/500!]

It was the only E-Grade item from the set that I had. The fact that it was blank made me wonder if I could custom it to Wisdom Stat.

[Gloves: Black Leather Gloves of Grace

Grade: D

Effects:

+5 Wisdom!

Durability: 5000/5000!]

[Would you like to make the following changes for 10,000 GM Points?]

I gave it a bit of thought before increasing the grade once again while adding another effect that I thought I could use right now.

[Gloves: Black Leather Gloves of Grace

Grade: C

Status: Bound to Adrian John Rodriguez!

Effects:

+20 Wisdom!

+Mana Recycle: Restores 20% of the Mana used! [Max Storage Capacity: 10,000!]

Durability: 25000/25000!]

[Would you like to make the following changes for 70,000 GM Points?]

I smiled as I looked at that effect. Even though it was a bit on the costly side, it wasn't too far from the target.

With this increased Wisdom, I should be able to kill a single pelikan with only 10 to 15 MP, compared to the 40-50 MP that I was consuming per shot right now.

And even if a C-Grade Monster appears, hopefully a charge shot of 10,000 MP should be able to take it out. Given how we are at the edge of the Tutorial, it seems like a C-Grade would be the final boss here.

"All right. Let's continue then," I smiled as I saw the dozens of pelikans coming in my direction.

-BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

[+500 GM Points!]

[+500 GM Points!]

[+500 GM Points!]

.

.

2 Hours Later…

[GM Points: 80,450 Points!]

I stretched a little before upgrading those gloves. It should give me another edge for the time being in case I come across something uglier.

"30 more minutes till the last day of the tutorial, huh?" I mumbled as I looked at the timer before observing the sky in front of me.

It was clear red with empty clouds. Except those flying giant worm like monsters floating high up in the sky, and the floating rocks that seemed more numerous than the first time I saw them, nothing else was there.

Not a single pelikan, or any other monster.

It should have been good news given how there were no more of those flying monsters, but since there were still 24 hours left, it felt more ominous than anything before.

Looking at Alice, Mark and Alex talking with the NPC girl, I decided that it was about time I visited them. Looking how tense they were, it seemed like they had some information about what was going on here.

And then jumping from one building to another, I covered the distance for the next 20 minutes, before I reached the rooftop where they were standing.

-Thud!

Jumping on the roof, I attracted the attention of the NPCs and the players, before I removed my stealth. Some of the alarmed players pointed their weapons towards me, while the NPCs narrowed their eyes at me. But as they recognized me, warmth appeared in their eyes.

"Adrian!" Mark shouted while Alex and the two other players were confused before they widened their eyes in realization. Alex was particularly looking at me with a deep look

I moved towards them, especially Alice and Mark. They both were smiling as they observed me, while I reached them and asked,

"You both okay?"

They nodded before my eyes turned to Alex. Last time I saw him, he was in a rather devastated state.

"Good to see you doing better than last time," I spoke as he was surprised before I then turned back to Alice.

"I would love to catch up with everything but this sudden silence is giving me chills," I said before I looked at the empty sky once again. Ironically I felt more safe when there were more monsters in the sky…

"It's the final day of the tutorial. According to this NPC, the Teen Pelikans will be coming now," Alice said with a pensive look on her face, while I narrowed my eyes as I asked," what do you mean by Teen Pelikans?"

At that Mark gulped before speaking," those flying monsters in the sky. You have seen them right?"

I nodded as he continued," the NPCs just remembered some crucial information. It's that, those monsters… they were just babies. The weakest of the bunch… and another thing. They were all produced from a single mother Pelikan. The monster that ate their entire village."

"Ah… fuck!" I could only mutter before I realized the gravity of the situation. Though it made me question one more thing.

"What were you guys doing here? I heard that you got some form of quest?" I asked as I looked at Alice who answered with a nod,

"Yeah. It said that the chief of the villagers would appear from the forest and we should take the NPCs there before watching the finale of the apocalypse. Given the time, there are only 20 more minutes before the timer ends. After that we will return to the safe zone."

-KRAAAAAAAAAA!!!

But then a voice appeared from the forest. A loud voice that sent chills down everyone present on the roof. And then there was a deadly silence that made us hold our breath.

"What was that-" Mark spoke but then

-KRAAAA!!

-KIIII!

-KUEHEHEHEHEE!!

Loud voices not only from the forest, but also from the waters below. And in the next few seconds…

-Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

Three giant Pelikans, about a dozen times bigger than the ones before appeared from the forest, roaming in the skies at an insane speed.

-Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

And then 5 more followed before another 10 followed behind them. A total of 18 Giant Pelikans in the sky above us, while we just gazed at the sky with our eyes widened. The fear engulfed us so much that we could hear our own heart beat now.

-Splash! Splash! Splash!

-KREE!!

-KIKIKI!

-KIKK!

And then there were more water goblins coming out of the water, as they surrounded us from all sides. Each of them seemingly much stronger than the water goblins from before.

My eyes that observed those goblins for a few moments, briefly looked at the timer as well. And as much obvious it was, I felt like the situation was still far worse than I underestimated before.

[24 Hours: 0 Minutes: 0 seconds!]

The final day of Tutorial 3 began!
