Luc Roommates

The next morning, Luc woke up feeling refreshed and rejuvenated after a much-needed rest. As he looked around, he noticed that his roommates' beds were occupied, indicating that they were already awake. Luc decided to head to the dormitory's bathroom to freshen up before starting his day. After a refreshing shower, he changed into the Academy's official uniform.

As Luc returned to the room, he saw one of his roommates rise from his bed and introduce himself. "You must be our new roommate," the young man said. "I'm Abdel Kreem, a fellow freshman. I moved in first, and these two here are Lubda Tassey and Aimen Qai, also freshmen."

Luc greeted them warmly and apologized for sleeping through their arrival the previous day. "Hello, everyone. I'm Luc Walters. I'm sorry for not being awake when you arrived. I haven't been getting much sleep lately," he explained.

To his surprise, his roommates looked astonished. "You're Luc Walters, the freshman representative!" they exclaimed.

Blushing slightly, Luc nodded. "Yes, I found out recently. It seems I'll have to prepare a speech for the start of the school year."

Abdel reassured him, "Don't worry, Luc. We can seek help from the senior students to assist you with your speech. Since you're already ready, would you mind waiting for us? We can have breakfast together."

"Of course," Luc agreed with a smile. "Since you've had more time to explore the school than I have, I'd love to hear about your discoveries."

With that, Luc's roommates busied themselves getting ready, and soon they would embark on a shared journey, supporting and learning from one another at the Academy of Magic and Science.

About 30 minutes later, Luc and his roommates left their dormitory and made their way towards the Academy's restaurant. Along the walk, Luc couldn't help but be impressed by the remarkable abilities of his roommates. Abdel Kreem, with his full violet-grade awakened status and metal affinity, seemed to be the highest-grade awakened student among them. Aimen Qai possessed a mid-blue grade awakened earth affinity, while Lubda Tassey exhibited a full-grade blue awakened spirit affinity.

Luc admired the unique talents each of his roommates possessed. As they arrived at the restaurant, they discovered a spread of breakfast options. There was fragrant tea, freshly baked pastries, eggs from a spiritual bird, and a comforting corn soup. They found a table and settled in, engaging in lively conversation.

Abdel Kreem hailed from the town of Metalia, renowned for its expertise in magic artifact refining. The town was known for its prevalence of metal and fire affinities, and Abdel Kreem happened to be the brightest prodigy of his hometown. Aimen Qai came from a family of skilled earth mages, responsible for crafting exquisite pottery that even the royalty admired. Lubda Tassey hailed from a family of illusionists, their captivating performances creating a thriving entertainment business that spanned across the kingdom.

As they shared stories and enjoyed their meal, Luc realized that he was surrounded by extraordinary individuals, each contributing their unique talents and experiences to their shared journey at the Academy of Magic and Science. With a sense of anticipation and camaraderie, they eagerly awaited the adventures and challenges that awaited them in the days ahead.

After leaving the restaurant, Luc expressed his curiosity about interesting places within the Academy to his roommates. Lubda Tassey responded, "Since the freshman ceremony hasn't taken place yet, our access to certain areas is limited. However, there is a training ground in the Academy where senior students often engage in combat. We went there yesterday and it was quite an exciting experience. We've decided to continue watching today."

Luc's interest was piqued. Given his previous experience during the entrance exam, he knew that magic combat held significant importance in Arkania's culture. Eager to witness and learn more, he decided to join his roommates in visiting the training grounds. Fortunately, the grounds were not far from the restaurant, and they arrived early enough to secure good seats.

As they settled down, anticipation filled the air. Luc felt a sense of camaraderie with his roommates, eager to share in this experience together. The training ground promised a glimpse into the skills, strategies, and techniques of the senior students. After settling in, it didn't take long for two individuals to step onto the central combat platform in the training grounds. Aimen recognized them immediately, saying, "That's Victor Strom and Arnand Freiber. They're both third-year students. Yesterday, they had battles with other students and emerged victorious. They're considered to be quite strong. In my opinion, Victor seems slightly stronger overall, as his combat was exceptionally smooth. He outclassed his opponent from the beginning to the end. On the other hand, Arnand's battle was more evenly matched."

Abdel held a different perspective, saying, "While Victor may have overpowered his opponent, his performance was not significantly different from Arnand's and his opponent's. I believe this match will be evenly matched as well, so I think Arnand has better chances of winning."

Lubda chimed in, adding, "Their affinities are quite contradictory. Victor is a lightning user, while Arnand specializes in earth magic. Lightning and earth are known to be conflicting elements, as lightning has minimal effect on earth. Considering this, I'll side with Arnand."

Luc listened attentively to their discussions, absorbing the insights shared by his roommates. The contrasting opinions only heightened his anticipation for the upcoming battle.
