A bloody fight

Kai felt the urge to consume William's corpse even while going against Jeremy's group, but he forcefully withstood it. He wouldn't eat the body of his friend again.

Kai could also feel his blood boiling, like he was about to explode. He was sure it wouldn't subdue until he killed them all.

Jeremy after dodging Kai's shot, ran at him with his super speed. This time he didn't stop before hitting Kai. He punched Kai, while using his power.

Even with Kai's heightened senses, he didn't manage to block it in time. Jeremy struck him in the abdomen. Kai felt his internal organs shatter and his bones cracking. Because of the added speed, the power behind that one punch was terrifying.

Kai was about to vomit blood, but he forced it down. He couldn't waste any of it. He stopped the internal bleeding and patched his organs with his blood. It quickly clotted. It would be enough for now.

Jeremy wasn't sitting idly in the meantime. He created some distance between him and Kai, so taht his next attack would have bigger impact. Even that lasted barely a second, before he came at Kai again. The moose-man was getting closer as well.

Kai created a spiky shield in front of him, in hopes that Jeremy would run into it. But he just changed direction and struck at Kai's side.

This time Jeremy didn't back off after the hit. He started throwing punches at Kai with unbelievable speed. Their power was weaker, but there was a lot of them coming so the damage wasn't small either.

Kai endured the severe pain overtaking him. He grabbed the shield and aimed it at Jeremy. He instantly stopped his attacks and retreated. He was using guerilla tactics to wear Kai down.

At that moment the moose ran head-first into Kai. He was slower than Jeremy, so Kai managed to use his shield to block the attack. However, the spikes were shorter than the horns of the beast man, so they didn't reach his head. Kai used the shield to push him away.

The moose-man staggered a little, before stabilizing himself and running at Kai again.

While Kai was focused on the beast man, Jeremy appeared behind him, and struck. Kai gritted his teeth and created spears from his back, but Jeremy was long gone. He then absorbed the spears back.

Kai knew this couldn't go on, so he ran up to the wall and stood with his back to it. This way he wouldn't be attack from behind. Kai made his shield smaller and removed the spikes. He used most of his blood to create medium-sized spikes all over his body. This drained him greatly, but would reduce the areas Jeremy could attack.

Kai now focused his attention on the moose-man. He was rushing at Kai at the moment. Kai once again blocked him with his shield, but this time he could clearly feel the impact of the charge.

Even though his whole body ached like it would fall apart at any moment, Kai used his axe and swung at the beast man's arm. He could feel a lot of resistance, but Kai put all his might into it. Kai's strength right now was comparable to that of a bear. Soon enough the moose's arm got severed.

"ARGH!" The moose-man let out a painful roar. He backed off and grabbed his wound. The blood was flowing out freely out of it. At this sight, Jeremy, who was smiling all the time, frowned.

He quickly arrived before Kai, but before he could find a place he could strike, Kai already swung his axe at him. Without much choice, Jeremy retreated again.

There was blood dripping from the bloody axe, which made it look like it was melting. Kai held it out above him and opened his mouth. He drunk the falling blood. After a bit, Kai smiled.

"F*cking freak." Jeremy cursed at Kai.

"Aren't we all?" Kai smiled deepened, as he said that.

"BARK!" At that moment, Max, who was lamenting the death of his owner all the while, finally joined the battle. He used his booming voice to stun the two.

Kai used this opportunity and went straight for the kill. He cut off the head of the moose-man, as Jeremy was too far away. When he saw his comrade falling, Jeremy quickly regained himself.

"F*ck!" Jeremy cursed. He didn't expect anyone from his group to die.

"BARK!" The dog howled at Jeremy again, but he swiftly ran to a safe distance.

Max tried few more times, but to no avail. Jeremy was just too fast.

Kai got closer to Max to protect him. Jeremy seeing this decided to completely ran away. In a second, he was already gone.

Kai was still on guard in case he was planning to sneak attack them, after making them think he left, but even after a long while he didn't come back.

"F*ck... sigh..." Kai cursed because he wanted to kill them all, but sighed since the battle was over and he survived.

He recalled the spikes into his body and focused on healing himself. He sat down and closed his eyes. Max lied next to him, doing the same.

As he was resting, the shadow behind him moved. From it appeared a dark hand holding a knife. The knife slowly got closer to his neck. But Kai suddenly opened his eyes, created a knife of his own and struck the hand.

He pierced the hand and it dropped its knife. Weirdly enough, there was blood flowing out of the shadowy hand. It seemed the shadow could be hurt.

The hand quickly retreated into the shadows and disappeared.

"Hmph, I didn't forget about you." Kai was looking for the chance to kill it all the way throughout the fight, but the shadow didn't even appear. He couldn't forgive it for killing William, so there was no way he would forget about it.

For now, it seemed like the battle was truly over. It was unlikely for the shadow to appear again, after a failed sneak attack.

Kai slowly walked over to the moose-man's corpse. At least he killed one of them. Kai opened his mouth and started devouring the dead body.
