The Empoyee

"How might you please me, Miss Parker?" "How would you want me, Mr. Holden?" I should stop. It was only a tease I had mindlessly put up, hoping to get a longer moment with him, listening to whatever I had to say, but apparently, he was a persistent young man, one who would get to the end of every matter started. "I'm only scared we don't speak of the same thing here" He followed. "Oh, I very much follow, Mr Holden" "Here's the thing Miss Parker" He began, figure tearing off the chair, approaching my form. I fretted at his incoming profile, eyes averted away, not daring to meet that striking gaze of his. Even in the calming space, I could feel the burn that rushed to my chest. He had soon pulled up beside my form, eyes peering on at my warded off profile. "I'd like to see how so well you think can please me" He called. "If you manage to have me forget how troublesome the morning has been, then I assure you, the position is all yours" Eyes had snapped up to him at once, gaze beholding the sincerity in those grey eyes. "Also.....He paused for a long minute, figure inching closer.....If you manage to have me aroused........ He drew even nearer, breath so close, it fanned against my neck. "Then you, Miss Janet Parker, will be the company's new marketer to be employed" *** He is a 24 year old heir to his father's company. She is a 28 year old lady, fired from her last job for burning the CEO with hot tea. A fiery one she is, not until she meets a man, who is just intent on breaking her.

"We can't let you through ma'am"

My eyes were found gaping at the form away, holding onto such hostile air that exhumed from the fellow.

"Sorry, what?"

"Mr. Holden has requested he be best left alone"

"He has informed us not to let anyone in" He clarified.

"I work for him...at the company"

My words barely had little effect on the man away, as that smug scowl still rested on his lips, with eyes holding a haze of trauma, and brute.

"We're gonna have to ask you to leave, young lady" He followed at once, motioning for me to step away.

"It's important I see him, Sir"

"You have to leave, Miss"

"It's really really urgent"

"I'd hate to repeat myself"

"Come on!" My arms flung in the air, exasperation getting the whole of me.

"Ma'am, Please. You're creating a scene" My jaw had dropped without warning at his choice of words, eyes gaping on at him.

"I'm creating a scene?" The scoff left my lips, gaze peering at that profile.

"If you don't mind me asking, what's the name?"

"Carl" He followed without even sparing a glance my way.

"Alright, then. I'll just be on my way, and perhaps when the director asks why his long-sought contract had been altered, I'll let him know Carl chose it best to ignore my persistence"

I spun around at once, pretending my exit was much more important, but every bit of me hoped he would call me back.

A step I took, then another, and yet another, still no word came from the man, and only a feet away from the exit, had that voice followed, halting me in my steps.

"You can go see, Mr. Holden" He called.

"And do forgive me for every stress caused" He added, pointing out the way.

That could be of much concern, any other time, Carl. As of now, there's only one thing that left me perturbed.

My form hurried on, taking the steepy walkway leading to the entrance. I felt the solitude that hit me, upon my walk-in.

The house was eerily silent, with not a figure of anyone in sight.

"Mr Holden?" I called out to no one in particular, voice echoing back into my ears.

"Mr Holden"

"What are you doing here, Jane?"

Body had jolted at the sound of that voice behind me, with figure spinning around at once, coming to behold the profile of Kristoffer.

His eyes appeared dull, scrutiny intent on the whole of me. In that gaze, was a haze of pain?

Perhaps, I was only misinterpreting what my own eyes beheld.

"Wow" Arms criss-crossed over my chest, questioning eyes only peered back at him.

"One decides to take up a gesture of good will, and it seems so much of a concern to you"

"That's what scares me" He called at once.

"Your gesture" He added in a low voice, moving aside.

"Okay, what's with the harsh air?"

He said not a thing to me, back turned to my form, even from here, I caught the soft breaths emitted from his lips.

"Kristoffer?"

"You should be at the office, Jane" He followed after me.

"Leave" That voice was low, cold, and then followed the tension striking between our forms, with the silence having its toll.

"Why are you acting this way?"

He had soon spun around at my utterance, a haze of fury clouding his gaze.

"You, Jane, are the reason"

"What are you talking about, and why the sudden gloom?"

"What's wrong Kristoffer?" I hoped he would give me a little insight to whatever he spoke of.

I was lost. More torn on the parables he spoke in.

"Why are you this way?" I called at once.

"Cause I can't afford being in love with a lady, and getting to lose her!" He had snapped, with low breaths following after the yell.

My ears caught onto the soft cuss he spat, his hands scratching at his forehead, after the weight of his outpour had hit him.

"I can't keep up with that!" The sound of his voice blasted in the room, the walls throwing back the echo this way.

A lot it was, but only a few words my ears had caught onto.

"In love?" My voice was low, eyes meeting his, taking in the realization that had soon struck him upon my utterance.

He turned away from me immediately, eyes anywhere but my figure.

"Kristoffer"

I heard the breath pour out his lips, and in a second, he had taken off, walking away.

"Kristoffer!" That bellow soon got him pausing in his steps, eyes finally sparing my profile a glance.

"What are you talking about?"

"Don't go acting like you know nothing of my feelings, now" He followed.

"What feelings?"

"My feelings for you, Jane" That utterance pulled me to a start, eyes staring on at him.

"Yes, I'm now realizing how you've pulled me so good"

"I fear you may have gotten a hold of me, Jane"

"Why do you fear?"

"Because it pains me to see you slowly getting far from me"

He pushed forward, advancing towards my form at each second.

"It hurts that you aren't with me, Jane"

At every word, he drew even nearer, eyes intent in mine.

"And it kills to know that you aren't mine"

"I've fallen for you, Jane" Those words poured out in a whisper, with warm eyes holding onto mine.

He had soon taken a step back, eyes refusing to let go. With the silence coming in between us, our gazes was left lingering in each other's, neither one of us, deeming it best to give in to the other.

"I want you to be mine, Jane"

That utterance had my mouth dropped, eyes beholding the grey ones before me, and how they rushed with life.

His form had pulled closer, hands snaking around my figure, for a moment, getting me levied, and at a snap, came his lips brushing against mine.

His hold remained gentle, soft lips gliding with mine, while he pushed the tendril of hair that came over my face.

"Be mine" Breath low, with questioning eyes peering back at me, I beheld the man away in all of his glory.

Every word I've been familiar with, suddenly evaded from me, heart rushing with all warmth, all I was left doing was peering back at the person away, who was all that revolved around me at the moment.

This man whom I had grown so attached to, I barely could find any other thing more concerning.

My figure pushed even closer to his, hands caressing his face.

"I don't know what you speak of, Kristoffer" The words followed, eyes beholding the rush of warmth that clouded his gaze.

"I don't know how else you want it to be, cause for a very long time, you managed to claim me"

In his eyes was a haze of relish.

I caught his eyes rush with levity, gaze beaming on at my profile. Those words poured into my ears in a whisper, the sound of his breaths, all to be heard.

"I'm yours, Kristoffer"

"Yours"

So, "The Employee" has come to an end, but I assure you, there's more to come.

Bye for now—Arazella.
