"What's the hurry, Jane? It's just a dinner"
I spun around to the figure of my friend, eyes narrowed at the goof held on her face.
"Just a dinner, Tara!?"
"Did you say just a dinner!?"
My voice poured out loud, earning a questioning look from the girl before me.
"It's a dinner that would have all of those big names one would find in the pages of Business Daily, sat in a room, and you say just!?"
She let out a sigh at my tense form moving to and fro, fingers reaching to pick an apple off the table.
"Just chill out, all right?" I only could imagine Tara rolling her eyes while my back was turned to her.
At every second that went by, a sigh pushed by every exasperation, frustration and anger bubbling inside of me, would emit out of my lips, while my hands went rummaging the large sized closet at an end of the room
"Come on, help me out Tara" I drawled, soon turning to a girl who seemed not a bit ready to undergo a round of body-wrecking work.
"Is there a theme?" Her eyes accessed the dresses piled at my feet, face scrunched up at each one her hands pulled out.
"Corporate?......I guess. I'm not sure. I wasn't informed" I rushed my words, turning to resume the mount of clothes before me.
"Corporate to a dinner?" She raised a brow at me, eyes shifting from the top of my head to my feet.
"What are you people?" She sucked in a breath, shaking her head, giving me every disapproval she held.
Form soon getting low, her hands began pulling out all of the dresses I had come to know since my entire existence.
"Come on, Jane"
"However boring you guys might be, try looking alright" Her voice followed, words bouncing into my ears.
"Who knows......your future partner just might happen to be there" I could hear the jest in her voice, with hands soon grabbing a red dress out the depths of the closet.
"I've never seen you in this" She followed.
"Red really isn't my color" I pitched in.
"Then you must wear it"
"Come on, get going.....hit the shower or whatever, just leave me to the movie which for the past hour you've kept interrupting" She shooed my figure, hands pushing me on.
"Also.... she turned to me. "Have fun, Jane" That smile of hers managed to give some calm to my already agitated form, eyes holding the warmth in her eyes.
And with that, she had spun around, leaving the room to myself.
