The Empoyee

"How might you please me, Miss Parker?" "How would you want me, Mr. Holden?" I should stop. It was only a tease I had mindlessly put up, hoping to get a longer moment with him, listening to whatever I had to say, but apparently, he was a persistent young man, one who would get to the end of every matter started. "I'm only scared we don't speak of the same thing here" He followed. "Oh, I very much follow, Mr Holden" "Here's the thing Miss Parker" He began, figure tearing off the chair, approaching my form. I fretted at his incoming profile, eyes averted away, not daring to meet that striking gaze of his. Even in the calming space, I could feel the burn that rushed to my chest. He had soon pulled up beside my form, eyes peering on at my warded off profile. "I'd like to see how so well you think can please me" He called. "If you manage to have me forget how troublesome the morning has been, then I assure you, the position is all yours" Eyes had snapped up to him at once, gaze beholding the sincerity in those grey eyes. "Also.....He paused for a long minute, figure inching closer.....If you manage to have me aroused........ He drew even nearer, breath so close, it fanned against my neck. "Then you, Miss Janet Parker, will be the company's new marketer to be employed" *** He is a 24 year old heir to his father's company. She is a 28 year old lady, fired from her last job for burning the CEO with hot tea. A fiery one she is, not until she meets a man, who is just intent on breaking her.

Figures went strolling past my jumbled form, each one bearing a red envelope in their hands.

The hubbub which befell the area, had my eyes shifting from here to there, hoping to understand what to make of the rabbles.

"Have you gotten one?" Face bearing a crooked grin, the figure of a man hurried past mine, eyes lingering on my disoriented gaze.

"What is that?" My voice called after his departing figure, with no answer coming from the man who so appeared to have something much more interesting tend to.

"It's an invitation"

I didn't need to turn around to tell who that voice belonged to.

That damning calm voice of his, which emitted over my form.

Why was he out here?

My ever-working legs had soon turned numb at the presence behind.

For what reason did he decide to take the halls at this hour?

Yes, I had been avoiding him. Avoiding running into him, not after the little altercation I had with him in his office, which only resorted to him being much more persistent to keeping the Assistant he had hired.

He was one to push on. One who found every amusement in the slightest thing you did. He was out for me, and it was only a matter of time, before I stood my grounds

Unfit, he sure deemed me. Perhaps, unsure what I worked for. But I was out to prove him wrong.

I knew just well how to handle this business, and it wouldn't take a striking young man, in as much as I hated to admit it, to mock the stand of my college degree.

I was taught better than that.

"Are you alright, Miss Parker?"

That soothing voice came brushing past my ears, with his form still lingering behind, I itched to know whatever went on in his head.

"Of course"

Stood there in all of his glory, eyes took his form the instant I had spun around, turning to finally behold him.

Hands in pants, his eyes shifted through my gaze, lingering there for as long as the silence between our figures lasted.

"Here"

Those hands brushed past mine softly, gently placing the envelope in there.

"It holds at eight, sharp. We applaud punctuality, Miss Parker"

And with that, he was moving past my figure, hurrying away, leaving me beholding his departing form.
