Chapter 18: Big Brother And Little Brother, Part 2

(Hello. You might be familiar with a story with the same title as this book. It currently has over 120k views, and it was written by an account called Wilna_Kapp. Well, this is the owner of that account. At least, I was. I have been locked out of that account and I don't know how to get it back. So I will be continuing it and everything else on this account that I made a while back.

I would appreciate it if you could help inform the people on that book part about this. Only if you wouldn't mind doing so, of course.)

As Chikyu ran to the park with Kota on his back, the two of them made small talk with each other. Kota told Chikyu what he did today, and Chikyu told him what happened at UA in greater detail than the news he got. The ride to the USJ itself, the arrival of the villains after a speech from Thirteen about the potential dangers of Quirks, and those that he fought, but still leaving out the gruesome bits of said fights.

Kota was fascinated when his big brother started talking about his fights during the attack. It was to be expected when he was such a big admirer of Chikyu, but it never ceased to amaze him, no matter how many times he heard about Chikyu's fighting capabilities.

Finally arriving at the park after a few more minutes of running, the two arrived at the park.

There were several things of attraction at said park. Swings, monkey bars, merry-go-rounds, swings, etc.

As promised, Chikyu sat Kota on a swing and began pushing him. With each push, Chikyu used ever so slightly more force than the last push. After a minute passed, Kota was starting to swing in complete rotations after each push.

He wasn't scared of falling off at all. He knew that even if he did go flying off, Chikyu would easily be able to catch up and catch him before he hit the ground, even without using his quirk. Despite his large size and build, his big brother was pretty quick, both in general speed as well as reaction speed.

Besides, there was a part of him that thought it would be kind of fun to fly off like that.

As his little brother had fun on the swing that was ever so increasing in speed, Chikyu thought to himself.

He knew very well how much Kota looked up to him. And he especially noticed his amazement in regards to his power. So he was curious about a few things.

For starters, he wondered if he always had such a fascination with power, or if it was something recent. If it was recent, he reasonably guessed that it began after the death of his parents.

The other thing he wondered was if he was actually interested in said power, or if it was something he just wanted to admire from afar.

Knowing that he wouldn't be able to know from random guessing, he chose to ask Kota straight up. Stopping the swing after a full rotation, he asked.

"Kota, why do you admire power so much? I'm curious."

Kota stopped to think for a few seconds, obviously mulling over how he would answer the sudden and fairly strange question.

"To be honest, I think it's because I want nothing more than to see the guy who killed Mom and Dad get completely destroyed by someone really, really powerful. And when I see or hear about how strong you are, I always imagine you beating that guy, and it makes me happy for a few seconds.", he answered.

"So you admire power because you desire to see that man crushed by someone greater than him?", Chikyu responded, seeking confirmation.

Kota panicked, assuming Chikyu disapproved.

"I-I know that's not the kinda stuff heroes are supposed to do and all, but I just-"

"Do you want power?"

Kota stopped, surprised at what his big brother interrupted his panicked speech with. he thought he would reprimand him and say something like "heroes are supposed to be just with their power".

Confused, he asked for further elaboration.

"What do you mean by that?"

"It's exactly as I asked. Would you like to have power like that for yourself? Or do you simply want to observe it from a distance?"

"What are you offering? Are you saying you can just give me power if I want it?", Kota asked, still slightly confused, but starting to get the general picture of what he was being asked.

"Not straight up, but I can make you better. Through a good bit of training and advice, you could start by being able to at least defend yourself. True power would only become possible after a while of said training, certainly not in a short amount of time. What I'm trying to ask is, do you want to follow in my footsteps?", Chikyu thoroughly explained.

Kota thought on the offer for a few minutes. Truth be told, he saw no reason to refuse. For starters, he would already be getting more time to hang out with his big brother. Secondly, he would be able to help himself in case something like that ever happened again. So with all of that, he saw no reason to think on it any longer.

"Yes! I'd like that!", he practically yelled, obviously excited.

Chikyu picked his little brother up and put him on his back before starting to walk back in the direction of the lodge.

"Then let's start tomorrow."
