43. Senpais

Coming out of the room I made my way towards the main door. I remembered to inform Narumi-san that I was leaving so I turned around and shouted, "OBA-SAN I AM GOING."

I got an immediate response from her, "OK REI, BE CAREFUL."

Hearing her, I went out wearing my shoes. I slowly made my way towards the newly opened mall nearby. I didn't hurry over as I still had time left. Slowly taking my time, I went towards the mall. I reached the mall after half an hour.

I slumped to the meeting point outside the mall near a coffee shop. I didn't enter as I had no habit of drinking coffee. I stood there and after half an hour I could see two figures slowly making their way towards me.

On the left was a senior named Nakatomi Tomiko. She was the one whom I got closer to instantly. She was the queen of the third year in the school. She was known for her fiery temper but was also kind to people who were closer to her. She took great care of me when I entered the club.

She was wearing a white tank top with a matching jacket over it. She paired it with black pants and completed her dress with white snickers. She looked beautiful; She had a huge following throughout the school in boys. But no one dared to propose to her as they feared her.

On the right was another senior who took good care of me. Her name was Miyagawa Mitsuko. She and Nakatomi-Senpai were childhood friends as their parents were very close to each other. She was very kind to me from the start of the year. She was always calm and had a kind smile on her face.

She wore a normal one-piece blue dress. She wore her usual glasses, adding an intellectual vibe to her. She was also as pretty as Nakatomi-Senpai and was often followed by boys in the school. Together they both were known as the "Heavenly princesses".

Seeing them, I always felt happy to know them. My year in school passed quietly because of them. They always helped me when I was feeling down. Seeing I made my way towards them. Noticing me coming, Miyagawa-Senpai waved her hand excitedly. I also waved my hand and went towards them.

Miyagawa-Senpai was the first one to greet me. "You are here quick, Rei-Kun. Did you wait for long?"

I shook my head and replied, "No Miyagawa-Senpai. I came just now."

This time it was Nakatomi-Senpai who responded by slinging her arm over my shoulders and holding me, "Good Rei. That is what you should say even if you waited for long." laughing at the end.

I couldn't help but shake my head seeing her antics. I could also hear Miyagawa-Senpai sighing at her.

I broke free from her grip and praised them, "Both of you look good Senpai."

Nakatomi-Senpai came near and asked, "Oh! Rei you got cheekier. Then tell the truth, Rei who looks better, me or Mitsuko."

I struggled to give an answer to her question as they both looked beautiful. Seeing this, Miyagawa-Senpai dragged Nakatomi-Senpai and said, "Don't make it hard for Rei-Kun. Let's eat something before we roam."

I nodded, and we made our way towards the mall. We chatted along the way and it felt nice to talk to them. I could share anything with them. They both were like older sisters, like Meiko. As we chatted I could feel envious gazes from some males in the mall towards me.

We reached the Mcdonalds in the mall and went inside to eat. We ordered the food and sat on a free table waiting for the food to come.

Nakatomi-Senpai asked, "So Rei where is Meiko going for highschool." Meiko had a friendly relationship with Senpais as they were the same year and often met when he was going home with Meiko and Sora.

"She is going to Horikoshi High School Senpai. She got a baseball scholarship there."

This time Miyagawa-Senpai asked, "Isn't Horikoshi far away, Rei-Kun."

"Yes Senpai, she is staying with her aunt there."

They both nodded, I asked, "Where are you both going, Senpai?"

"We will stay in Sensen Rei-Kun. We have lived here since childhood and can't leave it easily. So we can meet you often, don't worry." answered Miyagawa-Senpai.

I nodded, and the food arrived. We ate as we joked around, not caring about the place we were in. After eating, we made our way towards the theater in the mall. Nakatomi-Senpai chose an action-packed movie whereas Miyagawa-Senpai chose romance, as for me it didn't matter. They played 'rock paper scissors' to decide. We ended up going to the romance movie as Miyagawa-Senpai won.

Coming back after the movie ended, the sun was already setting, so we wanted to end it here. I turned around and saw them both whispering to each other.

I cleared my throat and got their attention. I smiled and asked, "Shall we get home Senpais."

They both nodded at each other and Nakatomi-Senpai told, "Rei, stand near our meeting point. We have some work, and we will meet you shortly. Don't go anywhere." and ran away inside the mall without waiting for a response. I stood there not understanding what they were up to.

Dejected, I hung my head and walked towards the same coffee shop again. I stood there seeing people walking pass by, thinking random things. After 30 mins, I felt a hand on my shoulder. I turned around and saw Senpais standing with smiles plastered on their faces. I looked down and saw a box wrapped with a gift cover.

I looked blankly at it, not understanding what it is. Nakatomi-Senpai spoke out, "Take it Rei, consider it as a gift from us."

I drawled my hands towards it and Miyagawa-Senpai placed it on them. I stared down at it with tears forming in my eyes, threatening to flow down. I looked up towards them. Seeing me like that, they both came closer and hugged me.
