Upon reaching the school with heavy breaths they barely make it in time for the class and Rei goes inside to sit inside the class while Izumi goes to his class which was beside his. Slowly opening his door he then makes his way to his desk, which is the last-second from the furthest seat. Upon sitting, he notices his classmate behind is sleeping, so he silently sits in his place. He then observes the rest of the classroom and notices that as usual people formed groups and are talking about children shows which do not obsess him with. He then notices a girl wearing glasses and is coming towards him.
Upon reaching his desk, the girl crosses her arms over her chest and asks in a demanding tone, "Toujou-San did you at least complete the homework given out at the weekend this time around" Akira Tsune. Akira was the class in-charge, and she came to ask if Rei had done his homework.
Rei seeing her then replies, "Yes Akira-San I have completed it on that day itself."Hearing this she satisfactorily nods her head and heads back to talk to her friends. Rei never understood why this girl always asked him if he's done with his homework when there were these many people in the class. Rei was always at the top of the class and was always ahead of Akira in terms of marks, so he always thought that homework was a waste of his time and never done it. What he didn't know was that Tsune thought of him as a rival and wanted to compete with him in terms of marks.
Then at this time, the class door is opened, and the teacher walks in and starts to make the class in order. Then he takes attendance from the students and starts to teach the class. Rei always never lays attention in class as it is easy for him. Then after some time, the bell rings and indicates its Lunch break. He then slowly makes it out of the class with his box and waits for Izumi to come out and after some time Izumi comes out of the room and they both make it towards their daily place and have lunch.
While eating Rei says " Hey Izumi I have decided to become a catcher and the greatest one at that." Izumi hearing his friend smiles and says "ok then good luck to you then."
Rei then says "Hey Izumi come to my house today after school there is a baseball match on tv today let's see it together.".
Hearing his friend's advice, Izumi nods his head and accepts. Then after they complete their food, they make it towards their class. After school, both Rei and Izumi make it towards their house and Izumi promises him he will come after reading up.
Then Rei went into his house and noticed that his dad was not present, and he noticed a slip stating that he went out to get groceries for the house. He then went up to his room and changed his dress and came back down. He went into the kitchen and took out some snacks and juice to eat while seeing the game. He then went and sat on a couch and turned the television on.
Then the doorbell rang, and he went to open it and noticed it was his friend and invited him in and told the match was about to start. They both sat down and got comfortable in their seats. Today's match was between Tokyo Blazers and Saitama Crushers. Both the teams were long-time rivals and often clashed against each other. Rei admired the catcher of the Crushers team. His name was Kamizato Shirogana. He was his role model and admired his ways of giving directions to the pitcher and controlling the overall field.
It was the Blazers that opted to field first, and the pitcher was not that outstanding but was fairly known. In the first inning, he threw a meatball, and it was blasted off to the stands. At the end of the inning, the Crushers were leading by 1 run when the Crushers came to field their pitcher as someone who recently came into the spotlight. His name is Yakhama Tenma. His strength was his fastball and his arsenal of breaking ball, which increased the difficulty of hitting his fastballs. Throughout the entire game, he only gave up one hit and brought home the victory for the Crushers.
