Pressing my ear to the door, I did what I planned not to do; eavesdropping. Initially I could hear them speak but it suddenly turned quiet. I couldn't hear any words, not even Austin's response. I was about to adjust the position of my ears when the door suddenly opened.
With such a force that came abruptly, I almost stumbled and fell the other way. Getting startled like that blocked my throat from allowing any word out, my heart raced at the thought of getting caught.

" I... I was on my..." I didn't know why I would always find myself stuttering when I'm with him. It was frustrating and no matter how I tried to calm my nerves and speak fluently, I would end up being lost for words sometimes.
