Master vs. Disciple (Part 1)

Life is as short as you imagine it to be, you just have to live to the fullest to be pleased, so say the old Buddhists. Others say live calmly and help others, but I say life is worth shit if you don't take it seriously. Let's face it, from the moment we start our birth cycle in our mother's womb everything starts to get complicated; beatings, abusive parents, bad food. But despite enduring all this you keep on living.

In our miserable existence we must begin to take all things seriously, we must not allow a small fracture to form in our life so that bad things can go through our life that is already being complicated since our birth.

Fortunately there is reincarnation, the mythical belief that your spirit will pass through other lives before reaching our resting place.... Unfortunately this reincarnation of mine is not the best but it is not the worst either, I am simply in a fictitious universe where everyone is looking for the power to murder you in cold blood. Good. An excellent reason to have an enormous will to live.

The fire was burning on the tiles of the large marble buildings, people were running in panic through the streets completely destroyed. A torrent of rain began to fall on top of the burning flames, but strangely the flames did not disappear.

The quick, clumsy footsteps of a woman with her newborn child in her arms was the only sound heard through the desolate wet and steaming streets, her eyes held desperate tears as she held the infant in her wounded arms....

A huge fireball was approaching their direction, burning within range of the shattered houses. The woman turned back at the sight of the oncoming attack, unable to dodge, she hugged her son tightly to protect him from the explosion, only a moment before its flames touched a hair of the woman's head...

Slash!

The cutting sound together with the faint explosion from the fireball scattered all around, but the woman with her child in her arms was still intact.

"Y-You get out of here this instant, go to the place of shelter..." A commanding and striking figure had crossed between the attack and the woman. Her long pale blonde hair swayed to the rhythm of the wind caused by the flames around her, her divine-class armor was shattered, her face with finely feminine features soaring to the sky. She was like an angel fallen from heaven.

"Thank you... Thank you very much, Jeanne-sama!" The woman had thanked before running off again until she was lost in the smoke of the flames.

The strange female figure known as Jeanne had let out a halting sigh, suddenly she had fallen to the ground exhausted. The weapon, more respectively a sword had fallen at her weak and bare feet; her imposing figure was gone and now a damsel in distress. The wounds on her body began to heal slowly; her cuts were closing at a slow pace, thus preventing further bleeding, a bone of Jeanne's abnormally misaligned finger returned to its current shape, but despite all this, Jeanne had fallen face down on the ground.

"Seven days and seven nights, fighting those fuckers by myself, not even being an 'Enlightened One' I can't stand up to them? But what am I saying, obviously I'm not going to be able to hurt them, they have Velgrynd and Rudra with their ultimate ability. At least I know I can be happy knowing that woman is going to be okay."

A puff of blood shot through my weak throat until it shot through the air and landed on the ground. I slowly picked up the sword on the ground and began to rise up on my knee until I was fully standing. My eyes blinked for a second before I saw the face of a man I knew perfectly.

His ebony hair, neatly trimmed and sleekly short, accentuated his aura of vitality. A palpable intensity emanated from him, as if he harbored the weight of countless experiences within his being. His eyes, devoid of emotion but piercingly sharp, seemed to possess an uncanny ability to perceive the deepest truths.

"Tatsuya Kondou. My master. It had to be you who had to face me in this battle." I uttered with difficulty because of the blood in my throat and lungs, a faint smile was plastered on my delicate lips as I firmly gripped the weapon in my hands, alert for any movement so I could strike.

"Jeanne... Why are you doing all this? You had everything a person could desire. Riches, protection, power, even the love of a woman.... So tell me, Jeanne, is it necessary to fight to the death for your stupidity?" He said, his voice sounding cold and calculating, downplaying the destruction around them.

My eyes slowly opened dreamily, the sword in my hands lowered to the ground, its edge touching the incendiary rocks. Suddenly an amused laugh came from my faunas, I had covered my face so he couldn't see my blushing face from laughing so hard, then shook my head as I began to disappear into transparent particles.

"You don't understand, Konduo..."

The cutting sound of metal echoed behind Konduo. I was behind him, the edge of my sword a centimeter away from cutting Konduo's neck. From one moment to the next I was pushed away from the proximity I already had; my body went through the marble buildings covered with protective barriers, flames covered my body until finally impacting a wall.

"Of course I understand, Jeanne, you are a selfish person who wanted to take away Rudra's power, a person who wanted to disappear the Eastern Empire..." Konduo approached my helpless position, his firearm pointed directly at the part of my heart. "A person who betrayed the trust of his people and a person who stabbed me in the back....".

I looked up to stare at Konduo, my gaze detonated frustration and anger, something I was surprised about, is that come on, I was literally embedded in a wall, my armor was no longer with me, my gun was far out of my reach and I was having an exuberant bleeding.

"... Location: Jura Forest."

A dazzling flash surrounded my body bruised from the wounds of my battle against Konduo. The tube of energy that had surrounded me ended up disappearing along with me.

(...)

The consuming flames burned brightly, the only soothing sound was the torrential rain falling on Konduo's hair and on top of the flames unable to extinguish. His gaze was fixed where Jeanne had disappeared, a sigh left his lips, with a swift movement he had stowed his weapon in his holster.

"Be thankful that I will report that you have died, in the meantime, become strong to fight again, disciple..."

With these last words spoken he turned around and began to walk through the destruction before disappearing completely.
