Chapter fifty five

(Michael's POV)

My footprints should be permanently embedded into the carpet with the amount of pacing I've been doing for the past half an hour.

"Matthew wouldn't just up and leave after what happened last time. The pack will never forgive him." Roman points out but I shake my head.

"That's what we thought the last time," I snapped at him.

He glares at me, "What about his mate? He would never leave her again," He says but the uncertainty in his tone makes me scoff.

"Yeah, right, as if he didn't do it before and the situation at that time was even worse than it is now," I counter and this time he shakes his head.

"No, it isn't. This time, he risks the complete distrust of his pack, his mate's rejection and his mother's unforgiving wrath."

That makes sense.
