Sierra's POV
Looking at her I try to keep cool while I wait for her answer. "You started in I.T. and now you're a personal assistant" This bitch used finger quotes on a personal assistant. Who the hell uses finger quotes anymore? Placing my hands on my hip before I hit her with it I replied, "So what? That makes me a whore?"
Shaking her head, she laughs. "You are clearly not qualified for the position. I mean he just barely makes it to meetings in time. Someone else is always putting together his packets for the meetings too. You are the talk of the company and we have decided that you must suck a mean dick."
"I hate people like you. Assuming that someone is sleeping their way to the top. Just because you can't make do better. All you do all day is gossip. Did it ever occur to you that I am doing other things for him? Like upgrading his computer system or reorganizing his files or whatever. No, it makes you feel good thinking that I'm a slut."
Rolling my eyes and continued to type on my old pc. I can see from the corner of my eye that she is considering what I said. But blabber mouth did at least explain why people are looking at me.
"You know what? If that is the case why are you listed in payroll as a personal assistant?" Smiling big while she looked over to me and opened her mouth to speak.
"I can assure you that she is doing her job as a personal assistant. She has no need to explain or justify that to anyone." I was jumping for joy on the inside as the smile fell from her face. She turned and standing in the doorway to my old office was Jin, in all his glory. "I am personally offended that my employees think that I would use a promotion to get sexual favors." I watched her open and close her mouth like a fish.
"I am also very aware that your job has nothing to do with looking into anyone's human resources record. In fact, it's a crime for you to even look at them or for them to be discussed with you. Thank you for letting me know I need to have an audit in human resources. Also, you're fired. Clean out your desk and then let your connection in HR know to replace you. Better yet I will tell their replacement. Bye."
With that last bit, I thought she may pass out. What she did do was back out of the room stuttering and apologizing. As soon as she was gone he asked, "What was her name?" That caught me off guard, I don't why but I didn't expect that.
"Umm, Lynn. I don't know her last surname though." He nodded and sent someone a message on his phone. Looking up he placed his hand on my shoulder. "If something like that happens again I want to know right away. No one treats any of my employees like that." I nodded and continued to see what I could find on my old computer.
I grew up in a world where if you are not at the top you are replaceable. No one cared if you lived or died as long as you finished your job first. There is something sexy about a man that will stand up for you no questions asked. That makes a girl feel all warm and fuzzy.
"Are you OK? Is there anything else I can do to make this up to you?" He looks nervous it's cute. I've never seen him look anything but confident and completely in control. "I'm good, I haven't survived my family to let a little idle office gossip take me out."
Sierra: I'm good I didn't survive my whole life to let office gossip take me down. I smile at him and get ready to leave the space. "Did you find anything?" I asked as I kept searching through some files that I didn't think belonged on the system.
"Yeah, I found this." He holds up a bug that looks kind of like a USB drive. Boy, that is an old one. "I have found a few files in the systems hard drives. They don't look like they belong where I found them." I open the records and let him read over them.
"Did you really have other secretaries do my job?" I know it shouldn't bother me, but it did. The idea that I'm unable to do simple stuff like stapling papers together or getting coffee. I know they do more than that but he should have asked me first. I would hate someone too if I had to do their work.
"No, I pay them to work for me. I asked to do things that according to their employment contracts they said they would do. Nowhere in their contracts do I pay for idle gossip or give them the right to determine someone else's job description." All I could is nod my head. That confident tone is one of the things I like about him.
Holding up the drive he gave me earlier. "We need to get somewhere you don't mind being monitored. This is kind of device is old. There might be more than meets the eye." He nods his head, and we head back to the parking garage.
"I appreciate you looking out for me, I really do. But if I can hack I can do basic secretarial work. I don't my co-workers bitter and drawing unwanted attention to me." He looks at me at then places his head on my shoulder and says, "You can start tomorrow. Now get in the car I'm hungry."
Jin's POV
The second we stepped off the elevator Joon was there. I haven't seen him in a long time. Pulling him into a tight embrace. "Welcome home brother." Releasing him I turn, and we face Sierra. "This is Sierra. Sierra this Joon."
Smiling he extends his hand like the proper gentlemen Mom raised us to be. "So you are the infamous Sierra. I have heard nothing but good things about you and your skills." He kissed her hand and I elbowed him. I am right here. I know it's not official, but she is mine.
"Quick and very detail-oriented. I have seen some of the reports you have given them. Jimin and Suga are correct."
"Nice to meet you too. I've been waiting to meet the genius that allows his brothers to use such a hackable phone." Her smile was enticing and beautiful as usual. His frown could almost be called a pout. "There is nothing wrong with iPhones. They can be just as secure as an Android."
"The operative word in the sentence is can. Jin and Suga have been walking around for months with monitoring programs on their phones and laptops. I would suggest that you check your devices as well."
He looks at me and I nod my head. "One of the reports you saw was probably from my phone." He pulls out his phone and starts to do his thing. Next, he immediately dropped his phone and stomped on it. Grinding it underneath his boot heel.
"I can't believe I was hacked." Joon is normally all over these kinds of things. "I will check everyone else stuff. Thank you for catching it, Sierra."
"You're welcome, but who are the others?" She is always so sure so the curiosity in her voice is a relief. That's right she doesn't know yet. "What Jin didn't tell you? There is a total of seven of us. You still need to meet four more I think."
A/N: Hello beautiful people. I hope this new year is treating you well. I am done with quarantining with my family. We have all tested clean folks will make it back to school. I am still waiting to be cleared by my job though. Apparently a lot of folks caught covid over the holidays at my job. My direct boss and bank account wish they would hurry up. I on the other hand am enjoying the break. Vote, and comment let me know what you think.
"What held me together during those times was a promise I made to myself. Take it slow and go and my own steady pace." Jin
