Two Weeks Later

Alexander Ezra stepped inside the busy airport of Marsion City, happy to be back in his home country. Despite the wonderful time he had in X Country, he had missed home and decided to come back earlier than scheduled.

However, the joy he felt as he entered the airport soon died as his eyes fell onto a woman in her fifties wearing familiar sunglasses. She demanded attention and respect, people keeping their distance from her as she stood in the center of the bustling airport.

"I see you told mother I was coming back." Alexander hissed at his PA who was standing next to him.

"You try lying to your mother." The brown eyed man huffed back. "She made it really hard to hide the fact you were returning sooner than expected."

Alexander sighed, knowing that Michael had a point. His mother was one difficult person to deal with and almost always got her way.

"Alright, let me go deal with her." Alexander muttered. "Take care of my luggage will you."

"Of course sir. Will you be heading back with Mrs. Ezra?" Michael asked, despite knowing what the answer would be.

"Yeah, I guess I will be." Alexander murmured before walking off to the direction of his mother.

As he neared where she was standing, he watched the tips of her lips turn up into a smile. She removed her sunglasses, a look of motherly love clear on her face.

He knew he should be glad to have a parent that cared for him as much as his mother did seeing how most of his peers were treated like pawns for their parents to use. However at times, Maria Ezra could get overbearing like right now.

"Hello mother." Alexander greeted once he had reached the older woman.

"Hello darling. How was your trip?" Maria asked as she pulled him into a hug.

"It was fine." Alexander replied, pulling away. "How have things been for you?"

"Oh you know, busy." She placed a hand on his arm, the two making their way through the airport. "Although something did happen…"

"What was it?"

"Lina's granddaughter is living with her after being apart for so long."

Alexander frowned in confusion. He knew that Mrs. Davidson had a young grandson, but he had never heard of the Davidson Family having a granddaughter.

Maria smiled upon realizing his confusion. "Remember how Lina's younger son left the family."

"Yes…"

"Well, it turns out that he had a daughter. Of course by the time Lina found out about it her son had already passed." Maria frowned for a moment, sadness in her eyes. "Thankfully, she has reconnected with her granddaughter."

"That's good at least." Alexander smiled softly at his mother knowing how close Mrs. Davidson and his mother were.

Despite the ten year age gap between the two women, they were like two peas in pod and completely inseparable.

Alexander knew it was rare to find people you could truly be friends with in their world, many trying to get their hands on the Ezra Family wealth, but he was glad his mother had someone she could trust completely.

"It is. And the best part is her granddaughter is quite a lovely girl." Maria smiled as the two walked out the airport into the parking lot.

The wind was blowing a little heavier than usual, it making the place cold despite the sun being out in full force. Alexander quickly spotted the family black sedan and walked over to the car with his mother, wanting to get out of the cold wind.

"Alexander, I think you'll like this girl." Maria suddenly said as Alexander opened the car door for his mother.

"What do you mean?" Alexander asked, deciding to play dumb.

He had a feeling he knew where his mother was going but still was hoping that his conclusion was wrong.

"Well, she as she's twenty four and seeing that you're not getting anywhere romantically, I thought you two should get married." Maria said as her son got into the car, the driver pulling off as he closed the door.

"I've spoken to Lina about it and she agrees with me. It'd be nice to finally join the two families and you won't have to worry about her coming for your money seeing as she has enough to rival you." Maria added.

Alexander sighed knowing this was what he had feared. He knew that his lack of interest in getting married was annoying his mother, but to think she was now planning to marry him off to some girl he had never met…

"Mother, I don't think this is going to happen."

"Come on, Alexander." Maria pouted. "You're nearly thirty and have never been in a relationship. You don't even put in any effort into looking for someone. Do you think the perfect girl is just going to walk into your life?"

"…"

"She isn't…So, I decided to help you find a bride." Maria paused for a second. "Besides I want to have grandchildren and watch them grow up. Do you know how jealous I get watching women my age talk about their grandchildren. It's frustrating to say the least."

"Mother, please…" Alexander groaned as he rubbed his temple. "Can we take this one step at a time please. I haven't even met the woman and you're already talking marriage."

"So, you'll marry her if you meet her then."

"I don't know."

"Well, I guess we could meet her first. Driver, take us to Baker's Street." Maria then turned to look at her son. "Lina and her granddaughter invited me for some coffee so I guess you could tag along and meet your future wife."

Alexander frowned, realizing that his mother had probably set everything up. She was someone to make sudden decisions or changes into her schedule, everything having to be planned out perfectly for her.

He knew there was no way he was getting out of it and that his mother would hound him even more if he put the meeting off.

"Alright…" Alexander muttered, giving up with his mother. "I'll go."
