When Naveena and her mother burst into the tent, they were so frantic they were barely coherent. They gesticulated wildly and their words came out in a jumbled incoherent mess. But everyone in the meeting tent understood that they needed to rush back to Navarre's side immediately.
They entered the tent to find Navarre sitting up weakly and looking around rather bewildered.
Sol-Ange reached him first. They both stared at each other wordlessly for what seemed an eternity before Navarre finally spoke.
"I must be in paradise." Navarre said feebly his voice scratchy and dry.
"Why?" Sol-Ange asked with tears shining in his bright eyes.
"Because I see my brother again." Navarre replied. He couldn't express his joy at seeing the man he'd once rescued alive and well before him. although he was puzzled that, after nearly two decades, the man remained physically unchanged. That was why he thought he must have passed into the afterlife.
