Chapter 2: The Moons Children

Fenris woke to the sound of a heart monitor beeping and bright lights. Slowly getting up Fenris was hit with a tidal wave of new smells and sounds. "Uugh" he muttered, as he held his head he could faintly hear someone walking and smell the scent of cologne though it was a good while before the doctor walked into Fenris's room. "Hello Fenris glad you are awake." the doctor said as he looked at a clipboard. " So Fenris for physical injuries it looks like you have some scrapes and bruises from falling , and then the big bite on your forearm. " the doctor said looking up at Fenris from behind rectangular glasses. " Mental injures are yet to be seen but I'm sure you will be experiencing the same trauma as anyone who suffers a sudden loss. " the doctor continued.

Fenris sat there feeling numb as the doctor said all these things. All he could think about was how his parents laid on the road lifeless and unmoving. He wanted to ask the doctor if they had somehow survived but in his heart he knew they didn't. " So what now? " Fenris asked the doctor lamely "Well you will be a ward of the state , authorities have allowed you to stay in your house until you turn eighteen." the doctor explained. Fenris nodded then soon be was being given a ride home by a local police officer " thank you sir. " he said as he stepped out of the cruiser and walked into his house.

Looking at the house Fenris walked through the rooms looking at his parents. Suddenly a fiery rage built up in Fenris , the rage was fueled by grief and Fenris let out a scream before punching through the wall. Tears ran down Fenris's cheeks as the boy threw anything that reminded him of his parents into the trash. The one thing he kept was the piano placing it in the corner of the living but Fenris doubted he would ever play it again.

The next few weeks were emotionally trying for Fenris as he made preparations for his parents funeral. When the day came Fenris was among the only ones there besides a few distant relatives. Eventually Fenris was allowed to come back to school a thing he had actually been waiting for as it provided him a much needed distraction. Walking into Mr. Thomas's class Fenris greeted his teacher then sat down in his usual seat. As other students walked into class Fenris eventually saw Tristan walk in along with two other boys.

"Look who's back." Tristan said a crooked smile on his face " and here I thought my favorite punching bag would never return. " he said walking over to Fenris as the two other boys chuckled. Looking up at Tristan Fenris began to get angry though he had never gotten angry this fast. Crinkling his nose Fenris said " You smell like shit. " Tristans's smile quickly dropped and he looked at the teacher who was staring at them then looked at Fenris "Better watch your back Fenris." he hissed before sitting down.

For the rest of the day Fenris kept quiet as he went to his various classes and waited for school to finish. Finally after what seemed like ages the bell rang signaling the end of school. Fenris then began his daily walk home admiring the view when someone slipped an arm around his neck. Panicking Fenris ripped his attacker off with inhuman strength and looked at who had snuck up on him. Looking around Fenris was that his attackers were Tristan and the two boys from school one of which was the one he had thrown.

"Since when could you do that Fenris? Did you go to the gym or something?" Tristan asked nonchalantly as he watched the other kid get up. " Show this punk a lesson." Tristan said to the two other kids. They rushed Fenris at the same time and knocked him down to the floor then began to kick him. Growling Fenris felt the same rage build up inside him and he grabbed one of the kids legs then tripped him. Fenris then stomped on the kids face as he got up and grabbed the throat of the second one then slammed him into the ground.

Fenris then whipped around to face Tristan growling a wolflike growl. Tristan shook his head " Guess I have to beat you myself. " he said and cracked his knuckles. He then threw a right hook which cracked Fenris across the face and was about to throw another when Fenris punched his side. Gasping as he felt his ribs break from Fenris's increased strength Tristan crumpled to the floor. Fenris grinned as he saw the longtime bully fall and leapt on him then began to punch him repeatedly in the face.

Soon Tristan's face was a mess of blood and before Fenris could punch the boy again he felt someone grab his collar and throw him off. "What are you a rogue? Packless?" Fenris heard a girls voice say looking up he saw the girl he saw last time he walked home , the same green hair and silver eyes. "What what do you mean?" Fenris asked calming down as he stood up " Are you a newbie? " the girl asked then studied Fenris's face "oh shit, you're that kid the one who was attacked , you were shown on the news." she said. Fenris huffed " What does that have to do with a pack? " he said impatiently. Stepping towards him the girl sniffed him then grabbed his hand " C'mon you're coming with me. " she said as she pulled Fenris along.

"Where are we going?" Fenris asked as he tried to keep up " You'll see. " she answered. Soon they had arrived at a run down brick house at the edge of town. " Alpha will want to meet you. " the girl said as she lead Fenris into the house. Inside the house there was a group of people and Fenris noticed one prominent thing they all wore the Children of The Moon attire. "Beta you're back! And who is this you have brought?" Fenris heard a voice call out.
