Chapter 1: Wolf Among Sheep

Fenris couldn't think his life could get worse than it was right now. This was mainly because he had to talk to Tristan Williamson, his schools resident hardass. Tristan was known for acting like he was the baddest dude on the planet when really be would have his senior friends jump someone in Porterson High School.

'Hopefully he is in a good mood today' Fenris thought considering he did not have the time to get jumped today as he had to get home to celebrate his birthday. "Curse Mr.Thomas and his kind heart." Fenris said to himself as he saw Tristan. Tristan was built like a linebacker but never used his size preferring to let his senior friends right for him. His carrot colored hair was cut short a buzz cut to be precise and his eyes were a dark brown. Tristan also had a tan from his time in the sun, Fenris on the other hand was quite the opposite , his hair was long and lanky usually getting into his eyes and resting just above his mouth and was pitch black. He had unusual eyes which were yellow which caused many students to believe he wore colored contacts though he didn't. Fenris's frame was skinny and lean and his skin while not deathly pale could use a little sun.

"Hey Tristan Mr. Thomas needs you!" Fenris yelled which caused the boy to turn around. " What does he need me for Fenris? " Tristan asked aloofly non-verbally saying he thought he was better than the dark haired boy. "He said something about staying after school to help with work." Fenris said trying to hurry the conversation along school ended in ten minutes and he didn't want to be stuck in the gym. Turning red as a few boys who were sitting near Tristan chuckled he eyed Fenris then made a shooing motion. "Tell him I don't need help I'm doing just fine as it is." Tristan said we be walked to the boys sitting near him. Fenris snorted quietly and said somewhat loudly " That's like saying a cow doesn't produce milk. ".

A few minutes later Fenris was on the floor gasping for air as a couple people kicked him. He had put a up a fight till someone hit his leg from behind and caused him to fall. Curling up into a ball Fenris waited for the beating to be over. Eventually the bell rang and the kids gathered their things to leave school in which Tristan gave one last kick to Fenris's face. Laying on the floor for a few moments Fenris eventually got up and walked to class to grab his backpack. Soon he was on the way home after getting a tissue to plug up his bleeding nose.

Walking home was one of Fenris's favorite parts of the day he loved seeing the sights of his town and the people who lived there. Today he passed by one of the town's local Motorcycle Clubs looking at the individuals he saw many people wearing leather or denim vests and jackets but all with the same patch on the back. The patch said "Children of" on the top then on bottom it said "Of the Moon" with a image of a snarling wolf in the middle. Passing by he saw a girl with green hair and silver eyes look at him, turning his head Fenris began to quickly walk back home before any of the MC members could walk up to him.

Getting home Fenris opened the door to find his mom and dad smiling near the couch "Happy birthday honey, on my! What happened to your nose? " his mother exclaimed in alarm. "I just got roughed up a bit nothing too bad." Fenris answered " Do we need to call someone's parents? " his dad asked. " No it should be ok" Fenris said putting his backpack up before taking off his shoes. " Well we got a present for you" his dad said as his mom smiled and lead Fenris to his room. Fenris's breath hitched as he saw an electric piano tucked away in the corner of his room.

"No way!" Fenris yelled, he had been taking piano lessons since he was four but never got one for his home his parents must must've been saving up so they could buy it. " Yup then tomorrow we are taking you to get your license and tonight we are going to dinner. " his mom said excitedly. Fenris smiled then hugged his parents and for the next hour the sound of a piano could be heard throughout the house. Once the time came Fenris got ready to go to dinner and walked outside the house with his parents.

"It's a full moon tonight." his dad commentator as they walked down the house steps. Fenris was about to say something when a growling sound could be heard. His family stopped almost immediately as a dark shape stepped into the streetlight. It was an extremely large wolf with charcoal grey fur and orange eyes. Letting out a howl the wolf ran at Fenris and his parents who moved to protect their child. Fenris's mother was the first to be killed as the wolf lept on her and tore out her throat. It then turned to Fenris's dad and attacked and killed him as well, Fenris yelled out in terror and panic which caused the wolf to turn to him. The wolf ran and jumped at Fenris who put up his right forearm to block the wolfs bite.

Crying in in pain as the wolf bit into his forearm Fenris tell onto his back with the wolf still in top of him. It seemed like the wolf was about to kill Fenris when he heard voices and the wolf perked its head up. Surprisingly the wolf ran off and Fenris looked at his mom and dad as his vision was fading and darkness was on its edges. "Mom, dad." he whispered before the darkness overtook him and he blacked out.
