"Haha! The prosperity of Pangea has reached unprecedented heights. Our society and planet are reaching heights higher than any sky! Aha, our peace is everlasting and our freedom is immortal!"

A man could be seen walking through a futuristic city; the flying cars and sleek buildings were magical. As he reached his own home and building, a disgusting, four-legged alien creature appeared. The alien killed and devoured the man's family. As he fell to his knees and cried out in anguish, it suddenly paused.

"A massive force of creatures and monsters has begun their invasion of our glorious society! Now, let me ask you. Will you be content with your unstable lives, where an alien might kill you at any moment? Or will you take fate into your own hands?"

Suddenly, the scenery changed to a massive stage where a man in a gray suit looked down towards the screen.

"Take charge of your own fate and become Slayers! Join the largest peacemaking force in this galaxy and spread democracy across its lands! Become a Slayer and be labeled a Hero! A Saint! A Myth! A Slayer!"

Suddenly, the screen disconnected and returned to its blank state.

"Sigh! A Slayer? What a helpless dream. My fate has already been determined. I'll be dying in this rural area of Pangea, alone and tired."

In a building similar to the one in the video, a man could be seen leaning against a wall. The building had been torn apart and debris littered the streets and corpses had started to rot.

The young man was gravely injured in his stomach, experiencing a burning sensation that clouded his mind and increased his dizziness.

Suddenly, the man's face scrunched up from the heavy iron smell in the air and blood in his mouth. He chuckled slightly, only aggravating his wounds, and mumbled, "Why am I even alive? I wish I had just died. For fuck's sake, when will those bastards come here and finish the job!"

Just then, a loud screech echoed across the broken neighborhood. It had begun its last round before it left, an alien race that had suddenly appeared and invaded Pangea.

As it slowly crawled towards the broken building where the man was, he suddenly grabbed a knife and pointed it towards the door. Suddenly, the door was broken down and the alien screeched at the man, causing his ears to bleed.

"Fuck! Hah! Ahaha! You think I'll just roll over and die without a fight!? Dream on!"

The alien was standing on four legs, covered in a dirty earthy brown. Its face was ugly and hideous, with an open jaw filled with razor-sharp teeth. Next to its mouth were two small wings that glowed with amber. On the side of its torso were two larger amber wings.

"Hehe, a scavenger? Yeah, I'm fucked. Even if you are the weakest thing of the Insectar Race."

The man threw the knife at the scavenger, but it simply bounced off its strong hide. The man glared at the alien, unwilling to die, when a bullet flew through the air and into the creature's head. Suddenly, green blood splattered across the floor and walls, and the scavenger's body fell to the ground.

Quickly, the man looked around only to feel a sharp pain in his side and the darkening of his vision. However, before he passed out, he could hear someone yelling.

"Hey! We have a survivor! I repeat, we have a survivor, requesting immediate extraction!"

In the darkness and void of unconsciousness, the man slowly woke up to a blinding light. As he slowly came to, he began to understand the murmurs and voices around him.

"Vitals are in good condition. Health and wellness have been restored. I suspect he will awaken any moment. Oh, hello there, young man."

"W-where am I?"

"You are aboard a small vessel heading to the planet's capital."

"H-how am I alive?"

"You were rescued by the Slayers and treated on the small vessel by me."

"I-I see. Who are you again?"

"Don't be so nervous, I still haven't introduced myself yet. I'm a captain aboard the Ruler of the Stars Vessel and a Slayer. My name is Alysia. How about you?"

"I'm Felix, a recent high school graduate."

Alysia was wearing the standard Slayer uniform, a black compact suit that protected her body. Her helmet was off, showcasing her beautiful ocean light blue hair and emerald green eyes that stared at Felix with concern.

"No last name?"

"I'm an orphan. I was left at the orphanage when I was five."

"I see, I'm sorry for asking. Uhm, I'll be right back. I need to ask the Sergeant where we will put you."

"Wait! I-I have a request."

"Huh?"

"Please. Please let me become a Slayer!"

Alysia looked at Felix with concern. She was about to deny his request, even though more manpower was needed. She couldn't imagine what would happen to her mind if she sent the young man to his death.

However, her thoughts remained to herself as her direct superior, the Sergeant, walked in with a laugh and praised,

"Haha! That's how a young man should be! Very well, I'll make a direct request to the academy!"

"B-but sir!"

"Alysia, you should know our situation better than anyone else. Moreover, you are only a year older than him. Considering it usually takes three years to graduate, you started even younger than him. To deny him his request due to his age would be hypocritical and foolish."

"I-I understand. If you would, I would like to be excused."

"Very well."

Alysia was biting her lip with enough force to draw blood, but she said nothing else and scurried out of the room. Felix noticed that the Sergeant still had his standard issue helmet on, but he could tell the man's eyes were desperate.

Suddenly, the Sergeant received a communication from someone, and he told Felix, "We will be arriving at the capital soon. Once there, another shuttle will take you to the academy."

"Thank you, Sergeant."

"No need to be so formal. I just hope you can help in the battle."

"I will," Felix promised, although he wasn't truly ready for the fight. However, he had a trick, an ace up his sleeve. In the corner of his eye, he noticed small golden text that had appeared once he woke up.
