Chapter 63

“No,” JT said, without looking up.

Jesse wasn’t fazed by the response. Mainly because it was not unexpected. But Jesse wasn’t going to pull back from his request. Even if he couldn’t convince JT and he ultimately had to go to Michelle for help.

“Michelle said that if we wanted to go forward with this plan, I needed to choose a sacrificial lamb. I’m not going to let anybody die because Foster is mental.”

JT knelt in the grass covering the grave, his fingers toying with the fine blades. When Jesse had returned to the house, he’d immediately sought his counterpart and suggested they continue Gideon’s investigations of the church holdings. He’d been more than a little surprised to see one near the site where he and Gideon had failed to stop a grave robber from siphoning more of John’s powers away. With dimensional energy flowing around and through the church and its accompanying cemetery, it seemed a likely spot to draw Foster’s attention.
