Uzushiogakure

It has been almost a year since it was brought back from the ashes of its former glory

Quite an astonishing feat, really. One must remember that this village brought fear to many, and it took 3 of the 5 great ninja villages to take it down previously

Quite an interesting part of the history of this world, especially when you get to know that asides from giving Konoha some seals, Uzushio never took part in any conflict, but it was inevitable, peace-loving people are always the first to be destroyed by war

that's human nature, I guess

Inside one of the tallest buildings of Uzushio, right in the center of the village, Nagato moved hastily with a pile of paperwork in his hands

By the big dark circles below his eyes, you could tell he has not slept well in quite some time, But the big smile on his face gave a strange contrast to his eyes

"Good morning Sarah" He greeted the head of the Roran Divison of Uzushio as he passed by quickly

it has been quite some time since he lost his Rinnegan, that actually wasn't his but okay, and as such, he decided to not take matters into his own hands anymore

Placing his trust in Rimuru, the man he now viewed as a true god, he decided to take care of his people instead

Leaving Ame had not been an easy task for him or Konan, but it never stopped them from being positive

They got to the lowest a human can be more than once, how bad could it go anyway?

Albeit they raised innumerable flags, they never expected to be in such a good place

Uzushio had so many ingenious seals all around the village, that Nagato was sure that without the Rinnegan, even the entire Akatsuki wouldn't be able to invade this place

That is obviously not counting Itachi's Totsuka blade, as he didn't know about it, and Obito's Kamui as he was not sure about how it worked

The houses of the village had a strange design, he noticed, but from Ame, he was accustomed to big metal pipes all over the place, the gears on some wall gave the village an interesting, atmospheric even, feeling

Arriving on the front of a door, he made a tiny chain sprout from his back and open the door

Yes, the Uzumaki chains, he could use it

it wasn't good enough to fight with yet, but for simple stuff, it did its job quite well

And albeit he didn't get to know that weird girl that kept making seals all over the place continuously, she did give him some hints on how to awaken it, so he could only guess she was an Uzumaki as well

not that the red hair made it hard to know, but there were more people with red hair in the village, Like Sarah, and she isn't an Uzumaki

As he opened the door, He saw paper

no, really, that's it

Paper

flying all around the place, going from a desk on the center, to some pens that are currently floating, by the use of some static seals, the papers moved to make the pen write on them

quite a neat trick. Efficient? Maybe, Cool? Definitely!

And as soon as the paper got done, it immediately flew away, going to some shelves close by, and even organizing themselves

In the middle of all that mess of flying papers, there was Konan

Her face was calm, and you could honestly confuse her for a statue, no movements being done

She wasn't sleeping though, she was concentrating very much, doing dozen of paperwork per second, organizing them and all... it was exhausting... but different from Nagato's dark circles... she had none at all...

the reason? it was a very neat formation of seals beneath her

it replenished her energy and chakra by using chakra from the air, it was a masterwork of Karin, and it was so useful that you couldn't even begin to think just how useful it was

There was one catch though, to use it, you needed to be completely still, not moving a muscle

now, you may ask how Karin, who is the lord of seals herself let such a blatant disadvantage be on her masterwork?

Simple, it wasn't, Rimuru decided that it was better to have some steep requirements to use the formation, or else everyone in the village would go mad, there is a good reason why you sleep to replenish energy, and not only charge your body with more chakra, after all

it was a serious matter, and even Konan only used the formation for work, not sleep. And mostly because her paper manipulation was chakra extensive on such a big scale

The day seemed a bit too short with this much work to do, honestly. But making their people live the best life they could, was a dream come true to the duo

unfortunately, everything that is nice must come to an end, and by the current movements of other villages, they knew that no one was willing to let the big Uzushio come back without a fight

That is why they are overworking so much, a big fight approach from the horizon, and they can see that it won't be the last

Don't get it wrong, they never doubted that the village will be able to stand against any other villages, Uzushio originally took Kiri, Iwa, and Kumo to be destroyed, but the new Uzushio is way stronger

and Kiri was pathetically weaker nowadays, having just gone through a civil war

Iwa and Kumo alone are not enough, Konoha is at its weakest point and Suna is arguably not a treat, as they lost Shukaku on Konoha's invasion

so, no Treat from there

but Obito, Tobi, Mada, Madara, or whatever name he was currently using... that man was a treat, being intangible, able to teleport, and having one Rinnegan?

The damage he could do was scary, to say the least, and the lack of information about him made both keep their guards up

you never know when he can just teleport behind you and say 'Omae wa mo... Shindeiru'

the only reasonable guess they had, is that he would make a move during the war they feared

And yet again, they raised a flag... how nice of them
