Chapter 36.

"W-What?" My mum's voice broke and tears filled her eyes.

"Mum, I'm sorry." I lowered my eyes, and a frown appeared on my face. My mum just left and my dad gave me a glare and shook his head and followed my mum.

Everyone at the table avoided my eyes, and I felt terrible.

I should've kept my mouth shut and avoided everyone until my little baby was born.

As I was turning around, and about to leave, my grandma spoke up.

"I can't believe I will be a great-grandma. Who's the father babe?"

"Erm, it's Liam." I gave a shy cough and sat back down on my chair, Kayleigh grabbed my hand and squeezed it slightly. I instantly knew that meant that she would be there for me and she didn't think of me differently.

"W-What? Isn't he with that Ella?"

"Y-Yeah," I lowered my gaze to the floor ashamedly. "it was a one-night stand. He and Ella broke up, and it just happened."

"Does he know about the pregnancy?" My nana gave me a small smile and sipped on her wine.

"Yeah, he said nothing. It was like it didn't register in his head that I was pregnant."

Dinner was like that throughout it all. Everyone asked questions, and I answered them as much as I could. My parents didn't come back, and I ended up leaving without saying goodbye to them. I assumed that they had left as my dad's car wasn't there. I knew they'd be disappointed and their reaction was better than I was expecting. I expected my mum to blow up and yell at me, but she just left to take some time to cool off. I admired my mum more for that, and I'm glad my dad went with her it showed how much he loved her.

When I woke up the next morning, I had Nero licking my face and I couldn't help but admire his beautiful face.

At this moment, Nero was my boyfriend, and I loved him unconditionally.

I got out of bed because I was breathing in Nero's face and he didn't deserve to be met with the wrath that was my morning breath.

As I brushed my teeth, my hand unconsciously crept towards my bump and I caressed it.

Once I finished brushing my teeth and doing my morning routine, I headed downstairs to make myself some breakfast.

My phone rang while my fork was in the air and the scrambled eggs on it were about to be devoured by my fat ass.

"Fuck sake." I groaned and placed my fork down on my nearly empty plate.

"Hello?"

"Hey, Kehlani. Can we talk?"

"I can't," I decided to just continue eating my food, I didn't care what he thought. My baby was hungry. "I'm busy right now." My voice was slightly muffled.

"Can we meet up later and talk then? I'm sorry that I haven't reached out to you since you told me the news."

"Okay, you can come to my house in a little while. I'll text you the address." I quickly hung up the phone and then sent him my address and continued eating my delicious food.

Once I finished eating, I washed the dishes and made sure that Nero was happy and fed and then I sat down and started watching Happy! on Netflix.

I was about halfway through when I got a text and I quickly picked my phone up thinking that it was Liam.
