"I know, I know." Logan grabbed Snake and threw him over the wall on the right.
He could have been gentle with him, but was no time for that. He scanned the crowd, and none of them was strong enough to challenge him. It appeared Vick was the strongest of them and now that he was down; the others did not dare to anger Logan.
They weren't all that scared of him, but they were being cautious because he was the only one holding a weapon. Even if they attacked him, their fists would get chopped off before they could even put a scratch on him.
"If you don't wanna die, then I'll suggest you leave this place," Logan warned the rest of them.
However, none of them budged and judging by the look on their face, they weren't planning to obey him either.
Logan must have been strong, but none of them had seen him fight, nor were they familiar with his name. The Helenskis, on the other hand, were quite famous in the crime world. Their family was second in command to one of the biggest crime syndicates in Russia.
In front of them, Logan was nothing but a child. Also, there were more than a dozen people there. If they attacked him together, they'll be able to take him down.
"Whoever kills this bastard will be generously rewarded! I swear I upon the Helenski name!" Torrie yelled at the top of her lungs while holding on to Izna as a bargaining chip.
"We're in prison. How will you reward them? Giving free blowjobs or dropping soap on the regular?" Logan scoffed, rolling his eyes.
As he said that, Logan saw people turning towards Torrie. Although she had a cold and strict personality, her body was enough to excite the crowd.
But Logan wasn't holding his breath. They were criminals, after all. Why would they listen to a stranger over their own kind? He knew they would attack him regardless of what he did or say.
"Stop ogling me and get him!" Torrie yelled, snapping them out of daze.
She knew Logan was much stronger than her. The fact that he took out Vick with one punch was all the proof she needed to judge his abilities.
However, she had realized something peculiar about Logan. He had the weapon and the strength to kill Vick, yet he held back and only immobilized him.
Either he has no experience in killing someone, or he's a coward who wouldn't kill another human.
Torrie smirked as she thought.
Not to mention, I have his babe in my hands. She'll make him do whatever I want. Haha, that bastard is as good as dead.
Logan looked at the rest and knew they would not back down. He stared at the clock on his HUD. A little less than five minutes were remaining before the first round was over.
Normally, he would have spent this time farming some more stats, but he couldn't do so under the current circumstances.
I don't need to fight them. By staying here, they are digging their own graves. I should focus on getting Izna out of the mess I put her in.
But coming up with a plan and putting it into action were two different things. He might have wanted to protect her, but the rest of them weren't going around while he did that.
"I will kill him!"
"Step back, his ass is mine!"
The rest of them charged at him, but a loud scream from behind soon distracted them.
"What's going on?" someone asked as the cries grew more and more.
"It's Zombies! Argh-"
"No! BACK OFF! BACK OFF! ARGH-"
So far, all of them had been running away from them, but this time it would not be possible.
"How the hell are there so many of them?"
"Run ahead!"
The mixture of fear and confusion sent all of them into a panic-stricken state. The instinct of survival had overpowered the urge to kill. Soon, all of them began running past the three of them. As for Vick, he fell prey to the stampede.
But running away was useless. For only Logan knew there was no way out of there. He had killed dozens upon dozens of zombies while spawn-camping, which lead to the spawning of an endless wave of zombies that he led to the place where these fuckers had gathered.
Torrie could not believe her eyes. In mere moments, their momentum was snatched away from them.
"You- You did all this!"
"Did you expect me to show up here without some kind of backup?" Logan shrugged his shoulders before pointing his blade in her direction. "Just because I didn't kill anyone doesn't mean I don't have my own ways to take care of scum like you."
Saying so, he rushed past her and stabbed both of her legs, rendering them useless. "Allow me to introduce you to the concept of indirect killing."
Logan took a hold of Izna, as Torrie's legs gave out, and rushed towards the wall he had thrown Snake over. In the meantime, Torrie cried in pain, but the pain she was suffering from was nothing compared to what she was about to feel next as countless zombies rushed over to bite her.
"Come on, get your fat butt over the wall." Logan urged Izna. "These bastards might have helped me, but they aren't buddies of mine."
Izna didn't argue and climbed up the wall, "Come on, take my hand, I'll pull you up."
"I'm not coming. Not yet anyway. Stay in there. As long as you don't come out, the zombies won't be able to hurt you."
"Then take this!"
Logan looked up, expecting Izna to hand him some supplies. Instead, she gently grabbed his head and leaned in, planting a soft kiss on his lips. His eyes widened in surprise, but he didn't pull away.
For a moment, everything else faded away. When Izna finally pulled back, she smiled.
"Iz—Izna?" Logan stammered, still processing what had just happened.
"Think of it as a thank you for saving us," she whispered. "Also, now you see what you turned down without a second thought. Now go do what you wanted to."
Saying so, she disappeared from his sights, leaving Logan with the swarm of zombies.
"Women… you never know what's going inside their head," Logan shook his head, before turning towards the horde. "Unlike you brainless freaks."
