Ardrion

As the light faded away, I opened my eyes and found to my surprise that I was in a closed room with no doors. Was this the right place? 

'Stay where you are. Bend down while raising your left leg.' I heard a voice coming from a small ball at the corner of the room.

'Wait why should I? Who are you? Where am I? '

'What are you up to Sam? Still going around causing a problem for your dad? Just let the kid in, he's from Engranate. Look at his clothes.' said another voice.

'Dad, won't you even let me have some fun? What if he's a spy who infiltrated Engranate.' said the first voice.

'Let him through. Infiltrating Engranate is impossible. And his clothes are enough to vouch for his identity.' said the second voice.

Out of nowhere a hole ,about my size, appeared in the walls of the room which led outside.

'Why don't you come over here and tell us the reason for your visit. We might be able to help you.' said the second voice.

I walked through the hole and I was met by a muscular guy with red hair and a lean guy who looked about the same age as me.

'I'm Maxwell Neonster from the Neonster family and this over here is my boy Sam.' said the muscular guy and he held out his hand forward for a handshake.

' Nice to meet you Sir Maxwell and Sam. I'm here to join the camp for the children of rare talent. I was told to give this letter to Sir Reggie.' I said while shaking his hand.

'Well, that can wait. Why don't you give us your name first.' said Sam.

Name, wait did I have a name? I know my name from Earth, but I was never given a name in this world. The sisters never called me by name. In fact, I have no memory of someone calling or asking for my name in the first place. Should I just name myself? Is there a name that was given to me? I regained my consciousness only at the age of 5. So, I don't remember if the sisters had given me a name or not. Should I give myself a new name?

Maybe something cool Rudolf Dragonheart? Sagar Alias Jacky? No I need something more catchier. What should I name myself. Crap, I'm taking way too much time for this. I need to give them something, usually nobody takes this long to tell their name. Well fuck it I'll just say the first thing that comes into my mind.

' His name is HAL, Sam. Seeing that you don't have any family name attached, I should assume that you are an orphan.' said Maxwell pointing at the letter in my hand.

Hal, is that my name? I looked at the letter and it said 'Entrusting the unknown talent HAL, into the camp of rare talents. Keep an eye on him Reggie, kid's never been out of the village. Signed by Anne'

'Nice to meet you Hal. I'm just on my way to the campus. You must've no idea what kind of place Ardrion is. I'll show you around during the weekend. For now, we are supposed to reach campus Alpha as soon as possible.' said Sam.

'No one told me that today was the day when camp begins.' I said.

'Look, this is not a camp, it's a campus. And the campus year had begun 1 month ago. I'm on my way to the campus. I just dropped by to say hi to my Dad.' Sam said.

'But it's going to be night soon.' I reminded him.

'There's no night and day in Alpha. You get to sleep only when you finish the training assigned to you. You're way behind newbie.' Sam said.

'Now, let's hurry up or we're gonna get yelled at.' Sam said this and started running.

Before I got a chance to tell him to wait, he was out of my line of sight.

'No wonder there. We Neonsters have always been quite fast. Tell you what, I'll give you a lift. You really don't want to miss any more of your classes.' sir Maxwell said this and picked me up in his arms.

' Hold tight Hal.' bzzzzzzzzz.... I heard a buzzing sound and before I knew, everything around us started getting blurry. Even though we were moving at incredible speed, it seemed like there was no resistance from the wind at all.

The experience was quite short as we had reached the entrance of the campus. 

'This is as far as I can take you Hal. Only students and teachers are allowed inside.' said Sir Maxwell.

' Well, I'll see you around. I have to get back on duty.' Sir Maxwell said and sped off.

'Thank...y...ou' he was already long gone.

The gates in front of the campus wrote Alpha Academy. It was covered with all types of symbols. I walked towards the gate and that was when I heard a familiar voice calling me from behind. 

'Sam! I thought you might've reached before me.' I said

'I got side tracked and it hasn't been long since I've been able to use this ability.' he said

Well, he's got a point there. I was curious about how the members from the same family was able to use the same ability. Well, I will ask him about it later.

'Shall we enter Hal?' asked Sam

'Sure. Let's head in.' I said. We walked through the gate. Inside, we were met by a man with a cowboy hat in a closed room.

'Howdy fellas. Ain't that a new face we've got here?' he said.

'James, this is Hal. Hal, this is James, James Buckard. He is one of the teachers here who is also in charge of the security. Give him the letter that you've got.' Sam said 

I handed him the letter. ' Ooh a letter for Reggie! And that too from Anne. That lassy. Well, you've landed yourself quite a sponsor ain't ya kid? Consider the hand over done lad.' James said this and the letter in his hand vanished into thin air.

'In ya go ma lads.' said Jessy and the ground where we stood started rising. We reached quite the height within seconds. Then, we dropped down really quick. My brain was getting all sluggish and I collapsed half way down on the platform.
