Chapter Twenty-Four: The Underground

Lyrica snored. "Don't change the topic, what did you do?"

She sneered and breathed out. "Why are you so interested, major? Jeez," Valerie then annoyingly sat on the boxes that were put next beside her with the other boxes.

"Valerie, we all know that you have the ability to piss someone off, I am sure you did something stupid again, didn't you?" asked Lyrica.

She breathed out and looked at the clear blue skies above them. "It wasn't even intentional, I only said a few words and he went berserk on me."

Lyrica looked at the crew which was fixing some of the equipment damaged before she shifted her gaze back to Valerie. "So, you said a few words and Lukas attacked you?"

It was hard to believe her sometimes, but they have seen her say a few words and literally get herself smack in the back because of it.

"Yes, but I did apologize, so I should settle with him again."

Lyrica breathed out and looked at the empty boxes where Valerie had sat. "Don't sit on those things, Valerie, read below."

She was looking at her when suddenly Valerie shifted her gaze below her, the box that she decided to sit on was not a normal package box. A text was written on it in red ink, it said "explosive devices" and made Valerie leave her seat.

She didn't seem to see that warning sign, looking at it. So many Valkyries got injured from being near those explosive devices, that's because sometimes those devices actually blow on their own.

"Those things explode without notice, why did you decide to put it here surrounded by so many people?"

They should have put in more secure and far away places. However, Lyrica didn't think it was needed to contain it. Those explosive devices don't usually automatically explode, it was just the simple explosive bombs seen in terrorist attacks but Seven went completely out of control and she stupidly modified the bombs which malfunctioned afterwards.

They didn't remove it because it might be discovered by humans, so they took it in, although they blew up the island, it doesn't mean everything is destroyed. They can't use atomic bombs, it's against the law set by Caleb, so they use small explosive TNT to blow up the island.

Last thing they need is not these things out there. They not only contain sulfuric acids, but also material gasses that are enough to spread like a virus. This is because Seven was making a bomb that has the ability to not only kill but to spread virus which is why it got taken away.

If they didn't stop Seven from his crazy inventions, it might be used as a weapon in the Human Realm and in this world.

Lyrica clicked her tongue and she pointed her thumbs at the person—Valkyrie behind her. "Look, Seven would rather take it and put it elsewhere than destroying it, we can't even destroy that thing, she said we won't worry about it cause she put it in a shielded barrier in which we can't see, I am not sure if she's in a proper brain or she has taken some stupid brain from the Human we buried."

If it's Seven, then this explains why. Seven is one of the few inventors in the laboratory, but among them all, she's crazy both mentally and physically. Now, Valkyries are made of female heart, soul, and body but Seven is special amongst her sister.

She—no, he was one of the soldiers ready to die during 20th world war 2 in the Human Realm. He was one of the men who didn't dare not to say they were suffering from battle fatigue, that's why he killed himself intentionally when he went in front of an enemy and died—or perhaps clinging to his life that didn't yet perished.

Caleb was at that moment visiting the said battlefield, and met him. Usually he would save women to be compatible in a Valkyries body, but in Seven's case, he made arrangements because Seven showed a high potency of becoming a Valkyrie.

He may be a man, but his soul isn't as much as how it looks from his body. His potential accuracy didn't disappoint Caleb, when he successfully merged with a female Valkyrie body.

Since then, he became a woman and was treated as one.

As crazy as it may sound, he is a genius inventor, despite many of his failed products. He created the Espers, and one of the modification incubators. It was also his invention, where weapons from physical items become weapons for Espers.

He had not only improvise modifications, he also created the force field used against Valerie during her berserk and rage.

Valerie gave a long breath. "She may be a genius but sometimes she annoyingly makes things so dangerous that no one wants to touch."

"Nevermind her, I have a task for you," Lyrica brushes her off and she points out another location from the old mobile car. "I am too busy to deal with everything, can you drive that thing to the second floor, it's where old stuff had been carried. Also, while you are there, help the other Valkyries who haven't gotten out of the incubators."

"Roger, major," she saluted and Valerie started walking away.

She had taken various jobs before, those jobs were even more dangerous than sitting on a landmine, so this one was the easiest job that the major had asked of her. She looked at the old rusted military vehicles which hadn't been used for months. It started to look sturdy and messy once they've gotten it out of the garage.

It has many dusts, although it still looks fine despite the dusts, the side of the tire was not completely destroyed, in fact, it looks fine however, the tire was close to giving up. She took a long breath before she held the vehicle's panel, the front cover of the car, and she carefully wiped it with her hand.

This is the latest model of Armored Military Vehicles, BATT UMG. It is one of the replicated and modified military equipment that was shared from the Human Realm. During the pre war of Russian and Ukraine, the BATT UMG was seen used by Ukrainian Soldiers in the city of Bakmut, Donetsk Oblast.

It's the latest military vehicle during that time of era, but less was seen otherwise. One of them was taken, modified and replicated by the Valkyries—which improvise the vehicles used by Valkyries.

Surprisingly, the original and stolen vehicle of BATH UMG was brought and hadn't been used by the one who did it—Sera, the assistant of Seven. She was the one who replicated the vehicle and then abandoned it.

She still doesn't know why it was taken though. "Such a waste of material," she mumbles and opens the door of the vehicle.

She was given a map prior to the newest headquarters architectural design, each level of the said "underground headquarters" having its own organized fraction.

This underground headquarters was made in the shape of a hive, it has floors connected through underground railroads which reach to the button. The hive structure helps with the organized structures below and above, it has what they call control room, and side rooms.

At the center of the ground floor was used for the server control system—a hidden room that can't be penetrated by any means necessary. The rest and remaining floor underneath is where few of the equipment was left, a laboratory was made as well, offices, healing incubators and mortal clinic.

It also contains a training ground, home facilities for Valkyries, tubes for conceptual frameworks, monitor rooms, gym—an all out scientific laboratory. The upper floor, 2nd to the first is where few equipment was stored, including vehicles, airplanes, machines—battle armory and others specifically.

The floor which she'll go to will be on the 2nd to the 1st floor. The entrance was at the end of the hallways, it is signed as enter to the 2nd floor, she drove the vehicle towards the said entrance.

The vehicle soon entered the hive, where the place was dark and only a few lights could lighten the path. She was aware that they hadn't finished the lights on the 2nd floor, so it was understandable how she wasn't bothered about it.

The echoes of her vehicle moving towards the creepy road give her enough time to breathe. Simple sound of the car can echo in the depths of the road, she didn't think it was loud enough to go back louder than it can.

Valerie continued driving and didn't mind the creepy sound created by nature. If most people would freak out, Valerie didn't do such. She has the power to slap ghosts in the face, and she's very intimidating to approach, no ghost would want to touch her.

However, those creepy sounds are created from the echoes and movements of the vehicle and the road. It's not made of paranormal, it's rather a natural one, Valerie could see it so she's confident about her thoughts.

Unless they want to be beaten, it's best not to show their faces in front of her.
