Chapter 28: Flawed Harmony.

Back in the day, on Old Earth were the days where people flourished. Sure, there was corruption, crime and selfish acts but they were jokes compared to what happened just after.

[April 2, 2009]

On this day, the System appeared. Then, the weak, the strong, and successful people lives had changed. The appearance of the Dungeons, Gates and Towers allowed them to exceed their human bounds and ascend.

[October 4, 2010]

This is when the Omega Organization rised to its feet. Then, the government finance only three individuals primarily. Lloyd Grey, Jeneve Eden and Suho Park.

At the time, they were the strongest, with Suho Park being first and Lloyd Grey being third. Jeneve Eden landing right in the middle.

[December 14, 2012]

This is when Gates and Dungeons began to break and release Monsters into the world. Spawn Sites and the urgency to destroy them and Gates and Dungeons were established five months later after this day.

Worldwide, primarily Monster-Grade creatures were released and destroyed everything and killed anything that was in their way. With the help of the top three Players - which was what they called themselves at the time - and the rest of the Players they defeated this threat in five months.

After this, the urgency to clear the Towers placed all over the world was also established.

[July 15, 2018]

The exact day Kris was born and the day were a large group of Players were sent into the Tower. Roughly about seventeen hundred.

After a year, only five came out alive. Only two in this five manage to become X-rank Hunters - or Players - in the future.

[January 1, 2024]

This was the day when the Earth had finish it fusion with Mana. Then, five large continents appeared on the map. What was irregular beside the enlarged planet was that those continent were organizing placed. One at the north, one at the east, the other at the south, another at east and finally one in the middle.

The ones at south, north, east and west were called Ruin Continents because on them individual came a elemental creature that destroyed everything and turned it into its domain. A ruin landscape of only their element.

Also, this was when the apocalypse began and the two of  top Players died except Suho Park. The other two weren't suitable at the time to survive because they only could take up to one Mutant-Grade Monster. That was their overall prowess.

After that he became a X-rank Hunter and was again in the top three, and was still in first place.

[February 29, 2035]

At the current time, Kris was showered in a pool of purple blood of a Monster. A Demon-Grade creature just above Mutant-Grade.

At most, one C-rank could kill on his or her own.

By level, Kris was a S-rank and in power overall, B-rank. He would easily destroy a Demon-Grade mob.

"Who is that man?" A person from the crowd of audience asked. "His as strong or stronger than One Zero."

"He must be a Player."

"Guess that wasn't much fun for you, was it?" Inquired a feminine voice. It was the King.

Kris was teleported right back into her presence without a moments notice.

"*Sigh* Cut to the chase. What do you want?" Kris inquired with a strained face.

The King smiled and said, "Nothing much. All I want is for you... to clear this Floor."

"Hmm?" Kris muttered in confusion.

The King then began to explain, "You see, whoever comes here has two possible Quest to receive. The most prone one is to defeat the Monsters that infest this world. A lot has gotten that Quest, that is why their no Monsters here."

"Because of that, a few get a new Quest to defeat the King of Harmony. Harmony is what this Kingdom is called."

Kris then asked, "Aren't you the King of Harmony then?"

"The King that everyone knows of but not the real King. The real King is hidden inside a impossible Dungeon to clear. That is why all people who've gotten that Quest haven't left," said the King.

"So, you want me to clear this Dungeon?" Kris inquired.

The King then answered with a simple, "Yes," then nodded. "But with the help of one of my.. slaves. One Zero."

"(Why is that person called that?)" Kris inquired internally.

"Because that is the persona he goes by," said the King.

"Oh, I forgot you can read my mind."

"Now..."

Kris now infront of a black coloured, metal gate that acted as an entrance to a cave. He was within a forest.

Besides him, was a male dressed on dark clothing. He had a black mask that covered his face and a shirt, pant, and shoes that were grey.

"Damnit," said the strange man. "Where am I now?"

"Don't ask me, as your slave master," said Kris without a hint of hesitation or concern.

"Hah, funny guy," said One Zero while shaking his head.

He walked towards the door and placed his hand on it.

After a while, the door then melted away by becoming liquid.

[Active Skill:

Wicked Decay - Uncommon/Level 3]

"Let's go, funny guy," said One Zero.

The two began to venture inside of the cave. In there was covered with Monster-Grade creatures at every corner. One Zero quickly dealt with them though.

Kris - on the other hand - was lackadaisically strolling through the Dungeon while One Zero did most of not all the work. Only time he did anything was when a Monster bumped into him, then he mercilessly killed it. But that rarely happened since One Zero quickly dismantled the creatures.

After a while inside the Dungeon, One Zero asked, "Aren't you going to do anything?"

"Me," Kris responded with a lifeless tone while pointing at himself. "Of course not. You are a slave, remember."

"Who are you even?" One Zero asked.

"I'm a Gen ? that came here to clear this Tower," said Kris.

"But the Tower would already be cleared," said One Zero

"No, whenever someone clears the Tower it is closed of for a period of time. Even though Monsters don't come out of a Tower, it acts like a cool down after you finished getting a few good loot," explained Kris. "(My high Intelligence is kicking in. Only thing it seems to do is refine the knowledge I've gathered on Earth and increase my Mana. It also seems to give me Knowledge about things about the System and my World.)"

"What ever, since you've got this Quest you're staying here until you die. The Monster at the end of this cave is Calamity-Grade, something that the Top Players couldn't deal with. Right now, I'm stronger then the Top Players."

"Hmm, whatever."

They continued to killed the mobs in the Dungeon. One Zero's stamina was rapidly decreasing while on this journey. He was comparable to a B-rank in the current era.

Eventually, they reached the finally challenge. At the end of the cave was a Knight with ten hands. In those ten hands were multiple weapons. Two spears, two swords, two axes, a staff, a club and a bow. It had armor that covered itself from head to toe, almost like a robot not a Monster.

"Still want to fight?" One Zero asked.

Kris then scoffed, "Ugh, this is what have been preventing you guys from advancing?"

Kris walked up to the creature with his daggers in hand.

With a quick swing of his blade, Kris chopped the creature in half.

"Huh?" One Zero inquired in disbelief. "Huh?!!"

He had to run his eyes to believe what he was seeing was true.

"You killed it?!"

Kris then said, "Shut up and tell me what this thing on the door says. You're probably be more useful here."

One Zero quickly walked up to the door. He saw a foreign text that wasn't from Earth.

"Ah, I have a Skill that allows me to read foreign text, sir."

"Then read it," Kris demanded.

"Yes, sir!"

One Zero's attitude was quickly changed by Kris's raw display of power.

Kris could have read the text with his golden eyes but didn't do so because he didn't want to.

"The text says that 'A head must be presented, stained with blood of its own and laid on tablet."

"That's all?" Kris inquired.

"Yes, sir," said One Zero. "I'll go find one of the Monsters head and bring it to you."

"No," said Kris, stoping One Zero. "That take too long."

"Oh.. wait."

Soon understanding the gravity of Kris's words, his blood then began to ran cold in fear and confusion.

"You know what that means right?" Kris said while belittling One Zero.

The next second, the walls of the cave was stained in red blood. Human blood.
