Chapter 27: False Peace.

Kris suddenly woke up. His golden eyes shining.

He was in a large room; a luxurious room with decorations and designs only for the rich and wealthy.

Kris got up off a bed with white sheet and golden feet, rising to his feet. When his feet touched the ground, a warm feeling covered his legs.

"Damn it," Kris said lackadaisically. "How did I end up here? I don't even remember blacking out."

The next second, the door to his room opened with his consolation.

Inside came a maid with attire fit for one. She had light-brown hair with dark brown eyes. Her skin was fair and white, put had a wrinkles and bruises.

She greeted him by saying, "Good evening, sir."

"Evening?" Kris inquired plainly. "How long I was out for?"

The maid answered, "For two days, sir."

"(Damn, I have only three days left. But I already know what this 'flawed harmony' is. Should I just kill this so-called King and skedaddle?)"

Like Kris, the maid appeared lifeless, housing no emotions at all.

Kris observed this and said inwardly, "(Suspicious. Normally the civilians here have a joyful smile on their faces. She seems to be the only sane one here.)"

"Could you take me to your King?" Kris asked the maid.

"Yes, that is why I came to your quarters," answered the maid.

"Ahh, quarters is such a lame name." Kris commented.

"Is that so?" The maid inquired. "Follow me."

"*Sigh* (I'm seeing the backs of people more frequently now.)"

Kris followed the maid out of the room and into the hallway. The hall was a very luxurious area like the rest of the temple. It had a red carpet with flame and dragon like designs; golden pillars that held up the roof and white painted walls.

"(At least something has contrast.)" Kris said while looking at the interior.

The journey towards the living area of the King was short. They only took a short trip down the hallway and came to a brown door that had flower like designs craved in it.

"This is as far as I can carry you," said the lifeless maid.

"(Am I entering the pits of hell or something?)" Kris asked himself.

Kris lifted his hand to knock on the door.

"Huh?" He inquired towards himself.

He then opened his hands and slapped the door with a small portion of his power.

The door escaped its frame and was flung away, crashing into another wall inside the room. A gust of heavy and strong wind flowed.

The maid only watched with a expressionless face.

A mist of dust engulfed the room, blinding the vision of those inside.

"What a pointless entrance," said a female voice inside the room. Her voice was as majestic and beautiful as any had heard.

"(The hell is with that voice? What is wrong with me?)" Kris asked himself as he felt his heart beating at a rapid rate.

"I would also agree, your Highness," said the maid as she walked away.

From out of the mist came the King. She was dressed in the same attire as before, only difference was that see didn't wield the crown on top of her head.

"I might get a runny nose if I keep breathing all this dust," said the King.

She snapped her hand and suddenly all of the dust disappeared.

"That better," she said. "But I'll have to fix that huge hole in my wall."

She pointed at the damage that Kris had done. Astonishingly, the hole or holes didn't lend out despite how many and far they were.

"Don't worry, I have very exceptional builders."

Kris said, "I could tell by the huge wall outside to the interior and exterior of this place."

"Now," Kris said, "what the do want from me, before I kill  you and complete this Quest?"

"Huh? Kill me?" She inquired. "Why haven't you done that yet?"

"Hmph!" Kris was caught off guard by that response.

"Oh, you can't," she said teasingly.

The truth was that Kris couldn't fight the incredible charm that she had and the spell that engulfed his mind.

"(So she is wearing an Outfit. Why am I even concerned about that?)" Kris inquired. "(This means has the Third-Stage Awakened System.)"

"(Precisely.)" The King said.

"(And can you see my stats.)" Kris asked.

"(Yes, you've passed SSS-rank by miles.)" The King said with a smile.

Kris then said, "(You're from Old Earth.)"

"(What is that suppose to mean?)" The King inquired. Her smile has suddenly faded.

Kris then said openly, "You see, after the Earth has been fused with Mana it got better. That is what we call Awaken Earth. Old Earth is what Earth was like before it completed it fusion with Mana."

The King inquired, "Huh?"

"The reason I know that you're from Old Earth is because of your statement. I'm actually a S-rank and a Prodigy in Level but in overall strength,B-rank. You elders ranking system is outdated," Kris said. "You may think that your an A-rank because of your Level, but actually you're an E-rank in power. Just above F-rank."

"Is that so?" The King asked in a plain expression. "Then why are you weaker than me?"

A smile suddenly appeared on her face.

"What?" Kris inquired.

The King said, "The only reason you can fight against my spell is because of your enormous pool of envy."

"If you want to fight, I make you," said the King as she waved her hand to her left.

Kris's body then disappeared from the King's room and into a gigantic arena. Their was a crowd of loud and excited audience seated or standing on the side, chanting down at the wide and empty field.

"Ugh, where am I now?" Kris inquired.

He looked around and saw that a Monster had just devoured another in cold blood. The Monster that was devoured was a gigantic beast that had purple hide, horns and large yellow teeth as the size of a person. The shape of this beast was like a beetle with features of a boar.

The Monster that was doing the devouring was just as gigantic, at a staggering thirty-nine feet. That was more than the combined size of six humans that were six feet. It had a dog like face, yet was covered in wolf like fur. It eyes had spiral yellow dots and a glowing green marks under them.

Kris sighed as he believed it was another easy mob.

[Dawg: Wolga - Monstrous Pup]

And it was a easy mob to defeat for Kris. The only thing was that it was Demon-Grade.

[Grade: Demon]

"Where did that guy come from?" One the resident's said.

Another shouted, "Get him out of there! His going die!"

The crowd was now filled with confusion and also concern for the mysterious figure.

The Monster then shifted its attention to its new prey. It charged at Kris with its four legs leaping towards him at a fast pace. Every step made a thud that shook the arena.

Kris stood his ground for awhile before saying, "This guy is moving way too slow."

His eyes were glowing golden as he said so.

To him, time was moving slow as he observed the creature. Its weak points, energy flow and vitals. With this sense, Krsi could see a uneven string of red lit lines head towards the creature's mouth and paws.

"With this ability, I can observe my enemy for a period of time. If my agility is better than that period is longer."

"Also, the color of creatures of individual differ depending on their Grade. These creatures energy is red while that lady's was blue."

That was indeed true.

Spirit - Cyan.

Insect - Brown.

Human - Green.

Monster - Blue.

Demon - Red.

Calamity - ???.

Time began to move normally as Kris closed and opened his eyes. The glow in his golden eyes were now gone.

He approached the fierce and excited creature. As the creature was about to make contact with him, Kris lifted his leg and stomped down hard on the creature's paw.

First the creature felt nothing and nothing happened. The Monster just paused in confusion.

"What was that guy think was going to happen?" One of audience inquired aloud.

Kris then said, "Rupture."

[Active Skill:

Second, the Monster than began to cry in agony as the pain kicked in. Next, its skin began to, erupt with blood squirting out of its body. Finally, it exploded into a million pieces of guts, blood, flesh and bone.

Rain of blood began to fall on the audience as they watched in awe at the true Monster.
