Chapter 14 - Marks

Azra could feel Kasia getting closer to him but his wounds were too great and just when she was so close he lost consciousness.

Haran on the other hand could feel his mate mark ever so faintly. He decided to follow it no matter how faint it was.

Haran managed to carry Azra on his back as he ran in his beast form back to the cave.

Expecting to see nothing but a pit once again. He was surprised to see Briar sitting there crying.

He slumped Azra on the ground and ran to embrace Briar who flinched at the sudden touch. Only when she realized who was in front of her did she calm down.

Briar noticed Azra slumped on the ground and her face went pale. She looked at Haran and saw all the wounds covering his body.

"Go to Aure!!! Please don't die... No no no"

Haran felt joy at her worries about him but then he noticed it wasn't just him she was worried about.

"No... Kasia can't lose you. Please don't die..."

Tears kept falling down her cheeks and refused to stop. She walked over to Azra and attempted to lift his body herself and drag him to the healing pool, she tried with all her might to pull him.

Haran felt jealous but he had caused all of this himself, He needed to make it right.

He grabbed Azra and asked Briar to stand back. He would do it himself.

Aure's glow was a mixture of blue and green.

But when the two entered it was still healing, but very slowly. They had to soak for a while before all of their wounds closed.

Haran was running back to the feral beasts territory. He wouldn't let her die .. he still had to apologize to her..

As the frantic thoughts faded the feral territory come into view. He wouldn't leave without Kasia. Even if he must die trying.

He fought and brought down at least 8 feral beasts before he came across her scent. Finally! He began to track it until he saw a feral beast with Kasia slumped over his shoulder. He was definitely trying to bring her somewhere to do unspeakable things, but he just couldn't let her go through that.

Haran jumped out from the trees and landed in front of the feral male who's eyes seemed full of rage and disgust.

"Drop the female. She doesn't belong to you. Drop her and I won't kill you."

His body was covered in the blood of the other beasts that came after him in this place. It could be seen that he wasn't joking. Except this male didn't care.

He took one look at the blood covered beast on front of him and smiled widely.

"This female yours?"

He opened his mouth and bit into Kasia's arm drawing blood and allowing his essence to enter her body. This was the method he used to forcibly become mates with a female against their will.

To both of their surprise, a purple flower appeared on his foot. He was disgusted with the strange flower that was now on his body.

They both looked at the flower before recognition appeared on both of their faces. This was a mates mark....

Kasia woke up in the arms of some random beast and attempted to flee when she felt a strong pair of hands grip her arm tightly.

As her mind cleared she noticed she was bleeding and this beast had a sinister look on his face.

Afraid of what was happening Kasia shoved her fingers into his eyes making him lose his tight grip on her arm causing her to fall off of his back onto the ground.

Before he could regain his composure she kicked the backside of his knees before rolling backwards away from him. He hit the ground with a thud still cradling his eyes.

Haran was right at her back and was going to help her when Kasia showed a look full of distrust. Was he a part of this? Why was he here?

The male on the ground felt anger at her actions and scratched off the flower on his foot, every last bit of it was erased from his skin.

Kasia flinched and felt like her whole being was breaking down. Everything went hazy and she couldn't stop her own voice from screaming out in pure agony. She'd never felt pain like this before, something was breaking her apart from the inside.

Haran was sure this was a sign that the mate mark works and she just felt like she was abandoned... Since Kasia let out such a deep and pained scream he knew it wouldn't be long before more beasts were upon them.

He needed to get her away from this place. He quickly went to pick her up and felt no resistance, her mind was broken. As he glanced at the male beast, he noticed a sinister smirk on his face... That means he knew what had just happened.... But haran had no time, he needed to get away now or they both might pay with their lives.

It wasn't until dawn that Azra woke up to Briar dabbing a cold cloth on his forehead.

He was drowsy and confused. What is going on?

"What happened?" Azra slowly sat up and looked at Briar who was still crying. Fear crept into his heart as he remembers everything that unfolded yesterday.

"Haran... Left to go find sister... Some males took her away. I don't... What do I do?"

As much as Azra wanted to run as fast as he could to find his mate, he could see this female was shivering and scared. He thought about what his little female taught him and went to get a little black orb he had seen.

Azra handed it to Briar and said

" Here. You need to eat something. I promise I will be back before you become hungry again. I'll bring her back."

Briar looked at the orb and smiled.

"Okay.."

And with that Azra was off to find his mate.

As Azra made it to the city entrance he saw Haran covered head to toe in wounds carrying an unconscious Kasia. Haran noticed him and handed her to Azra and while looking him in the eyes he said..

"We need to have a talk about these females. Something big happened and it will only get more dangerous for them from now on."

Azra stood confused but quickly shook it off on order to heal their wounds and get back to Briar before something else happens.

Once Azra brought Kasia into the healing pool he noticed it glowed yellow and all of her wounds were instantly closed.

Not long after Haran had the same results. It always healed faster when Kasia was near or used her own blood.

Briar was standing in the room when Haran began speaking in a very serious tone.

"These flowers.. they are the females mate marks. Kasia.. had a feral beast force a bond between them only to abandon her mark. She's currently feeling the backlash of the mate bond being severed. If this bond is as strong as the bonds broken for males she may never be the same again.."

Briar and Azra were stunned.. such a thing happened? They both looked at her with pity in their eyes and shock that females could be abandoned too.

Briars eyes shot to Haran and the red flower on his chest. She couldn't help but feel helpless and nervous. She could be abandoned....

"I will never abandon you. Not ever in my lifetime. Please don't think of me as being that cruel, I love you Briar. I always have."

Haran had tears in his eyes, his mate questioned if he would do such a thing. How could he ever do that? He saw how serious and painful it was when the mark was removed.

Azra was seething with anger. Someone dared to harm his mate? He wouldn't let this go. Azra brought Kasia to her room to rest when he noticed a bird beast mark on her thigh.

He still had mates bond yet severed hers??

Azra wanted more than anything to sever his bond but there were only 2 ways to break the bond. The female has to erase the mark from her skin herself leading to scars or having the beast die and the mark will remove itself.

Azra kissed her on the forehead and covered her in a blanket before leaving the room.
