Chapter 23: Rides

Bradley tries to catch his breath and acts normally as if nothing happens. However, he feels like he's being watched by something. He keeps looking in all directions, but there's no one around him.

"Damn! I don't like the atmosphere, it's freaking me out."

Bradley quickens his pace towards the resort but he accidentally bumps into someone as he enters the resort.

"Oh Gosh, I'm sorry." Bradley looked up seeing and dilated his eyeball. "Madam Nigera?"

"Brad, what's wrong?" Madam Nigera furrowed her brows. "Why is your face so tense?" She curiously asked him.

Bradley said that he had seen something black pass by during practice and while looking for Madam Nigera outside, he feels as if he is being followed by someone.

"Madam, I feel like the night watcher may be nearby." Bradley's eyeballs dilated momentarily and his hands continued to tremble. "So, what should we do?"

"Bradley, just calm down." Madam. Nigera tried to calm Bradley down. "We're not entirely sure what it is, but if it's here, our lives are in danger."

"Yes, Madam." Bradley bowed his head weakly.

"I think the best thing is that you stay here and don't go outside." Madam Nigera gave him advice. "Night catchers often strike their victims when they are alone."

Bradley simply nods his head as he walks into the resort and soon a yellow-haired man looks at him with a confused face.

"Bradley, where have you been?" Caden asked curiously. "Wait a minute why is your face so pale?"

"Ah, I'm fine," he said evasively while scratching his head. "Well, I was just walking around the tent looking for Mrs. Nigera."

"Alright then, we should head to the dining hall, everyone is already there."

The two of them quickly walk to the dining room and see everyone already gather there and soon dinner will be served. During the meal, Bradley keeps thinking about the figure who keeps following him.

"Hey, Brad are you okay? "Caden's flicked his finger over and over again.

"Uh, yeah, yeah, what's up?" Bradley looked back at Caden. "What's wrong Cad?" he said as he gulped down a glass of water.

"You've been quiet throughout the meal and that's unusual. Is there something you're thinking about?" Bradley furrowed his brow.

"Ah, I'm probably just tired." Bradley smiled and tried to reassure Caden. "Come on let's finish this food and we can get rest soon."

After eating dinner, they all went back to his bedroom. However, Markus suddenly grabs Caden and Bradley's hands and invites them to go outside.

"Markus, but it's already pretty dark outside." Bradley tried to suggest to him. "I don't think this is a good idea."

"Bradley, come on this is our chance to play," Markus tried to persuade Bradley. "Tomorrow we will be practicing continuously until the afternoon." He raised his eyes and dilated his eye like a kitten. "Come on, please?"

"So what do you think, Brad?" asked Caden raising his eyebrows.

"Fine, but we just play for a while, okay?" Bradley sighed deeply. "I don't wanna make any trouble."

"Got it, keep my word." Mark smiled and agreed with Bradley's words "Come on, we have to go now."

They finally slipped quickly out of the resort's doors to the rides. The distance to the rides is quite far, but fortunately, there is a small buggy next to the resort so they decide to take a ride on it.

"Markus, do you know how to drive this car?" Caden asked, furrowing his brow. "I can't drive a car at all and neither does Bradley."

"Relax, my father already teach me how to drive this vehicle, so just leave it to me."

Markus slowly start the engine of the buggy and headed towards the ride, which is a roller coaster. Bradley and Caden don't know anything about roller coasters at first, but after seeing the person ride their guts are speechless.

"Markus, are you sure you want to ride this?" Caden furrowed his brow. "This ride looks quite dangerous."

"I think the same thing, Cad." Bradley looks up and sees the movement of the roller coaster, which is quite fast. "Uh, I feel dizzy looking at that," Bradley said, holding his stomach.

"Come on, you should try it. " Bradley run onto the ride. "This should be a lot of fun."

They all finally boarded the ride with Caden and Bradley sitting in the back seat, while Markus sits in the front seat. Markus's face looked very happy riding the ride.

"Brad, I'm glad to see you," Caden said, patting his best friend on the shoulder.

"Hey Cad, what are you talking about?" Bradley furrowed his brow. "We're not going to die on this ride, so relax."

The ride slowly moved, making Bradley and Caden's faces tense up. They cannot do anything at all and close their eyes. However, a few seconds later, the ride suddenly shuts down.

"Hey, what's going on?" asked Markus curiously. "Why isn't the ride moving?"

A uniformed man walks to them and says the engine seemed to be in trouble, so they had to fix the engine first.

"This repair will take a long time," said Markus sitting on the floor with a frown on his face. It's quite frustrating."

"Markus, how about we go on another ride?" Bradley tries to regain Markus' enthusiasm, which seems gone. "How about we go there?"

Bradley's pointer turns to point in the direction of the haunted house not far from the roller coaster ride. Markus raises his head and thinks it may be a good idea. However, Caden immediately shakes his head.

"Cad, come on haunted house isn't scary." Bradley tried to convince Caden with his words.

"Brad, does the atmosphere of this place not scare you enough?" Caden raises his eyebrows. "The place looks very quiet and there's no one there except us."

"Wait a minute, you're not afraid of ghosts aren't you?" Bradley asked.

"Uh, you can say that." Caden's face slowly turns red like a tomato.

"Caden, there is no such thing as ghosts." Bradley rolled his eyeballs. "Never mind, Markus and I will go there." Bradley walks away from Caden. "You can wait here if you want."

"Wait... wait, I don't want to be in this place alone," he said with a sigh. "Alright, I'll go with you."

Bradley and Markus smiled wickedly, they are happy because their plan to persuade Caden works. After a few minutes of walking, they finally arrived at the haunted house ride. Everything looks so gloomy and there is horrible music playing which makes them all scared. There is a lot of red writing like blood stains etched on one of the walls of the building.

"Brad, are you sure?" Caden asked once again, "We can still go on the other rides."

"I'm pretty sure." Bradley smiled widely.

The trio steps into the haunted house without realizing something is terrifying inside waiting for them.
