18.Catching Up With You (Part 2)

-National City-

Kara's eyes had fluttered open as she reached out for comfort but to her surprise she felt cold..she noticed that Erick wasn't with her..well not in that way but she felt like she was missing something when he wasn't there with her

Did he leave already? Did she say something wrong or something that set him off? She liked having Erick over..she truly did even if it was just for one night; she felt amazing when they meet eyes or just joke around and laugh..she hasn't smiled or laughed like that with anyone, not even with her sister, Alex..

But her worries were soon silenced as an amazing smell filled her nose..it was the smell of bacon, hashbrowns and eggs along with the enticing sizzling as she immediately sprung out of her bed and quickly ran into her living room and where to her immediate surprise..

She found Erick casually whistling to himself as he flipped another pancake into the air and turned to cut some vegetables as he grabbed a spatula and without even looking he caught the perfectly cooked pancake and set it onto another stack of heavenly smelt pancakes

Erick slides some bacon off of the pan as he looks up and sees Kara with her mouth dropped as he smiles and greets

"Hey good morning, I uh made breakfast..are you okay Kara? Your looking at me like I did something weird"

Kara:I--uh-y-you..you made all of this?

"Well yeah I just wanted to show how grateful I was for you letting me stay with you, I didn't have a lot of options so I made breakfast"

He grabs a plate and sets some food on it and hands it to Kara as she looks at it and then back at Erick as he just casually smiles at her

Kara:T-thank you..I don't think anyone's ever actually done something like this for me

"Really? Wow well you deserve to be appreciated every once and a while and consider this is my everlasting token of appreciation"

Kara was in just so much awe at Erick, all of this was for her..it made her feel some type of way, she couldn't really explain it but..she felt her heart actually skip a beat; wow..Erick was probably one of the most amazing guys she's ever met..

She somehow managed to sit down and cut some of the pancakes as she took her first bite, the pancake was warm and fluffy..cooked to the perfect temperature and bacon was crispy but not crispy enough for you to have a hard time eating it, the eggs and hashbrowns were made by perfection..

It was at this point that made Kara wonder if Erick was even human, was he? Or was he this breakfast God from heaven itself here to answer her prayers?

Kara:This is..I-I..this is perfect

Erick takes a sip of his coffee as he meets his gaze with Kara's and sets down the cup of coffee in his hand

"Thanks I learned how to cook by myself so I had a lot of practice to make sure everything was set just right and seeing your reaction means that it all worked out great"

Kara:I'm sorry but you really need to tell me what you added into these pancakes they're so warm and fluffy!

Erick with a serious face looks at her and calmly replies back

"I added crack.."

Kara stops midway from another bite of her pancake as her eyes widen..as she slowly turns her head to Erick, his face was serious..like really really serious..

Kara:W-wh-at..

Her once beaming smile was replaced by absolute fear in her eyes as Erick took a long of his coffee while looking at her as he stood up from his chair and walked over to her as he laid his hand on her knee

"Kara.."

Kara was actually shivering with fear as she gulped and nervously replied back

Kara:Y-yeah?

Erick leans in and whispers into her ear with a gentle tone..

"I'm kidding.."

Erick leans back and gets back up as it takes her a moment to process what he just said as Erick just bursts out laughing hysterically

Kara:Oh my--Erick!! Don't do that!! I actually believed you!

But Erick didn't hear as he was too busy rolling on the ground laughing his ass from her reaction as she clenched her fists out of embarrassment

Erick gets back up and wipes away a tear from his eye

"Oh my God your reaction was literally priceless you actually thought I added into pancakes? *laughs* man I should've taken a picture of this"

Kara let's out a warning shot of her heat vision towards Erick as he easily sidesteps it and just sits back down

"Okay okay I may have gone overboard with the joke especially with me being all serious---"

Kara:I was actually really nervous when you looked at me like that

"Damn hey at least we know I can look and sound intimidating if we ever team up and need to do the whole 'good cop, bad cop' thing"

Kara:My Rao..I actually hate you

"Kara come on you know I'd never do anything like that to you, I care too much about you to go that far.."

Kara tried her best to actually look somewhat mad but damn..Erick had a way of seeing right through it, she didn't know if this was one of his abilities or some kind of charm..as she cracked and softly smiled at him

Kara:I know..but it was so convincing

"Who knows maybe in another life im a very good actor"

Kara:Why do I feel like that's actually a possibility?

"In the multi-verse anything is possible, good or bad stuff..I mean maybe on another Earth im this really buff looking dude"

Kara just shakes her amused by Erick's antics as she grabs her plate and gets up to get some more food for herself as Erick raises any eyebrow at this

Kara:What? I really like your cooking..

"Hey im not judging, if you want to eat more then go right ahead Kara"

Kara:Are you calling me fat?

"Pshh no we both know you can't get fat and neither can I"

Kara tries to find a way to counter that but she soon realizes..that Erick is right as he smugly smiles at her defeat

"And that ladies and gentlemen is how you win an argument against Supergirl herself"

Outside of National City in the middle of a grassy field, a breach opens as Jesse Quick and Iron Heart step out of the breach as Jesse looks down at her as it sparks with lightning

Iron Heart:Are you sure this is the right Earth?

Jesse Quick:Yeah I can feel it..he's here..

Iron Heart's helmet retracts as we see her look around the long grassy fields as she sees a faint city

Jesse Quick:What do you think he's doing right now?

Morgan shrugs her shoulders not really knowing how to answer that question

Iron Heart:I will say this about Erick..he's cute

She smirks as she looks back at her friend as she smirks back at her

Jesse Quick:Oh definitely for the son of a super villian he's a big softie

Morgan laughs agreeing with her friend as she puts her helmet back on

Iron Heart:Let's just hope he can help us with our problem back on our Earth..

Jesse Quick:Yeah hopefully so..

Jesse's eyes spark with lightning as Iron Heart hovers off the ground as the two take off to National City for Erick's help..who knows maybe they'll grow closer to him..
