17.Catching Up With You
-Earth 38/National City-
Erick was instantly engulfed into a hug by Kara as it caught him off guard as he stumbled back a bit but regardless he hugged her back, you could see the look of pure happiness in her eyes, how her smiled beamed so brightly as she layed her adorable head against his chest
Supergirl:It's really good to see you, Erick
"Well I made you a promise and when I make one I always keep it, and look here I am quite literally in your arms actually"
Kara's smile grew even more as the two let go of one another, as Erick looks around the rooftop they were in as he walked over to the ledge and looked out in National City
"This looks nice.."
He admired the beautiful night sky, the shining stars high above..the city lights around the building even the people just minding their own business
"You know in the future..things like this are very rare, we still have cars and other things but it doesn't come close to this, Kara..it's moments like these that really make you appreciate everything you have in life. To look out and see a future you choose to forge all by yourself..past, present or future.."
Kara was starstruck by Erick's words of wisdom, how could someone who's suffered so much know so how much life itself..
Erick faces Kara as she just stares in awe at the man in front of her as he just smiles and gently pushes her as she snaps out of her entranced state
"Hey are you okay? You kind of zoned out there for a second"
Supergirl:Y-yeah..im fine..
Erick leans in a bit as he notices something on her nose
"You know you have this thing on your nose..I think it's a crinkle"
Kara tries to hide it but fails ever so miserably as Erick tells her it's fine
"I've seen worse, Kara. You don't have to worry about it"
Supergirl:Are you sure because---
Erick places both his hands on her shoulder and calmly tells her
"Hey hey..look you don't have to do anything for me, just be yourself and we can move on from there, okay?"
Supergirl:O-okay..
"Good, now I know this is going to sound really weird but do you have any food, because im actually starving"
Her eyes beam with excitement
Supergirl:Oh! I know this one place but you do you like donuts?
Erick scoffs at such a question
"Who doesn't like donuts?"
Supergirl:Well in that case come on, let's see who's faster hm?
Erick cracks his knuckles as they both into running stances as Erick's eyes spark with lightning..except it wasn't his usual colored one..
Supergirl:On your mark..
"Get set.."
Supergirl/Erick:Go!!!
And with that the two race off against one another

Kara comes to a stop in the middle of her apartment as she holds a box of donuts in her hands, as Erick runs in
Supergirl:Ha! Looks like im faster than you!
"Okay no, first off this is literally my first time here so obviously you have the home and advantage and second off..I let you win"
Kara just laughs it off as Erick yoinks the box of donuts away from her hands as he takes one out and bites into it
"See if you were fast enough you would've stopped me from eating this donut"
She reaches out to grab the box but he easily sidesteps her while still holding the box
"Oh someone's too slow.."
She crosses her arms and pouts as Erick just shakes his head and hands her the box back
Supergirl:Thanks
She says with endearing smile as Erick smiles back at her
"Yeah I mean come on im not a bad guy"
Supergirl:Your right your not, your a really good one
Erick stops as he pulls the donut away from his mouth as his face changes to one of honest curiosity
"You really think so?"
Supergirl:Yeah of course I do, Erick I actually admire you..you've been through so much and you've turned out to be one of the most strongest and caring person I have ever met..I just wish everyone else could see you the way I do..
That last sentence catches Erick off guard as he sees Kara realize what she said as she looks away, once again Erick could've sworn he saw her blush..but he didn't mind..in fact he thought it looked adorable
"Thank you, Kara..t-that means a lot, and im not saying this to make it sound corny or anything but I just want you to know that im grateful to have you in my life to know that I can trust you..that right there it truly does mean the world to me..in so many ways"
Instead of answering back she puts the box of donuts aside and hugs Erick as he hugs her back
Supergirl:I'm really happy we met, Erick..
"Me too Kara..me too.."

Time had gone by so fast it felt but the duo didn't even seem to notice, they watched movie after movie and ate a lot of junk food together and by the end of it Kara yawned a bit
"Someone's sleepy"
He takes a sip of his water bottle and finishes what little remains of it
Kara:Pshh me sleepy? N-no..im just really *yawns* yeah..okay..im sleepy..
Erick gets up from the couch and offers his hand to her as he helps up as he leads to her bedroom as she gets into bed as Erick playfully tucks her in and jokingly tells her
"Okay do you want a warm glass of milk or do you want me keep your night light on so big bad monsters don't come out to get you? Maybe read you a bedtime story?.."
She knew Erick was messing with her but that last one did actually intrigue her..no seriously it actually did
Kara:Wait would you actually read me a bed time story?
Erick tries his best not to laugh as he sits on the edge of bed and plays along
"Alright alright..once upon a time Kara Danvers fell asleep and she slept happily ever after, the end..how was that?"
Kara:Probably one of the best stories ive ever heard in my life
"Why thank you, Ms Danvers you know I should probably make that into a book I reckon I can make a lot of money"
Kara:What they don't have books in the future?
"Honestly no, everything is digital which is actually stupid, I'd rather have a book in my hand than some audio book to listen to.."
Kara:Huh that does sound pretty dumb
"Yeah it does.."
Erick gets back up and turns to leave as he wishes Kara a good night but she reaches out and grabs his hand
Kara:Come on there's more than enough room for both of us
"Wow..I mean at least buy me dinner or something before you ask me to jump in bed with you, Kara"
Kara's eyes widened as she realizes what she told Erick as she covers her face with the blanket as she turns into a blushing mess
Kara:Oh my god..this is so embarrassing!
She feels someone jump on her bed as she moves her blanket off her eyes as Erick lays comfortable next to her
"Wow..this bed is actually really soft *looks at Kara* oh hey Kara I didn't you slept here too"
Kara:I hate you..
"No you don't.."
She tries to put on angry face but it soon turns into a smiling one as she scoots a bit closer to Erick
Kara:Your right I don't..
She could feel her heart skip a beat as she enjoyed her newfound company with him
Kara:Good night Erick..
"Good night, Kara.."
He decides to take a risk as he kisses her on the forehead as she snuggles up to Erick and comfortably lays her head on his chest as he turns off the lights..maybe them spending more time together won't be bad after all..
