Chuckling I watched as Maliq tripped as he ran out of the house throwing his bag behind him.
“Wassup, Mom home?”
I winced as he slammed the door as he got in the back of the truck.
“Nope, at work. She’s been out more recently, it’s weird”
“Out where?”
I watched his reflection shrug as he slid in the middle.
“I don’t know. Why you asking like she’s ever told me anything? I never knew shit, you was my hookup for info until you bailed.” He chuckled as I kissed my lips.
“Whatever I was just asking.”
“This is Soul by the way, Soul this is Maliq.”
“Like the spirit?” He chuckled, sticking his head between our seats.
Rolling my eyes at his ignorance, I glanced over at Soul to see him joining in with his laughter.
“Yeah, I guess so.”
